The Munich Agreement and United States of America
Lukeš, Jakub ; Johnson, Zdenka (advisor) ; Soukup, Jaromír (referee)
In my diploma thesis, I provide an analysis of the Munich Agreement and the Czechoslovak crisis from the perspective of the United States of America. My aim is to create comprehensive picture of bilateral relations between Czechoslovakia and the United States before and after the signing of the Munich Agreement. Thesis focuses on the diplomatic and economic relations between Czechoslovakia and United States in the period 1936 -- 1938/1939. The introductory part of the thesis is devoted to the phenomenon of isolationism and its influence in shaping the U.S. foreign policy. The main point of the analysis is the attitude of the American public to the Czechoslovak crisis and the Munich Agreement itself. The main hypothesis consists in the assertion that the United States played a major role in the Czechoslovak crisis that preceeded the signing of the Munich Agreement. I am seeking answers to these questions: How did the American public perceived the Czechoslovak crisis? What was the reaction of the U.S. government to the Czechoslovak crisis and the subsequent the Munich Agreement? How did president F. D. Roosevelt perceived the Czechoslovak crisis? In order to find answers to my questions I am using the issued and unissued sources, specialized literature and especially the contemporary press. The thesis has proved that the United States took part in the events that preceded the signing of the Munich Agreement.

Development of state social support benefits in the Czech Republic from 1995 to 2014 and their impact on low-income households economic status
Lukeš, Jáchym ; Štípek, Vladimír (advisor) ; Sunega, Petr (referee)
This thesis examines the influence of state social benefits on income and natality of low-income families in Czech Republic. The years in which significant changes in government welfare benefits occured, based on the legislative changes, are examined in the paper. These years are, with use of model families, analyzed in terms of the ratio of potential income from state social security and subsistence minimum of families. The paper shows that this income can be the main income for the families. By comparing fertility, the number of low-income families and changes in the state social support was the hypothesis - about the child as the main source of income for the family - disproved.
Reflextion of technologies of electroacoustic music in vocal and instrumental music
Lukeš, Jiří ; RATAJ, Michal (advisor) ; BARTOŇ, Hanuš (referee)
The present text of the thesis discuss the technology and its impact on the composer's compositional work . Current music scene we called artificial music in principle pervades the world of acoustic sound to the world of electroacoustic sound, which is a major field of researches of art music for several decades. Continuous development and improvement of the technologies in the context of better accessibility in practice means increasing infiltration of technology solutions to the triangle composer - performer - listener . The main focus of the text consists of analytical probes into the current technological solutions and their subsequent contribution to the work of the composer. Technology can play a role of analyse, interpretation, and indirectly also compositional realisation. The knowledge gained in electroacoustic techniques then embedded in the context of acoustic compositional techniques , resulting in many times possibilities for classification of sound through different optics. An important role for the sound still plays a space. The work deals with the meaning of the word space both in terms of architectural design , and the view of possibility to create virtual space. The penultimate chapter gives the reader an insight into the field of generative music through the project Mysticism fragrance. Final text summarization aims primarily to identify and map out possible solutions for composing in the context of the technologies which we can use today .
The Use of Accordion in orchestral Scores
Lukeš, Jiří ; LOUDOVÁ, Ivana (advisor) ; RIEDLBAUCH, Václav (referee)
The orchestral sound is evolving over several centuries. An important influence on this fact has undoubtedly creating new musical instruments and their gradual integration into the orchestra. Concert accordion as we know it today, is about 100 years old instrument. In recent years we have witnessed to growing interest by composers, which increasingly integrate accordion to orchestra. Personally, I colaborated with few composers in preparation and execution of some of these pieces. This fact in conjunction with the lack of literature inspirate me to write this work. I deliberately chose two compositions, in which the accordion plays an important role, although not intended to form a solo concert, but just as an organic part of the orchestral staff. The main purpose was to show its unique technical and tonal possibilities on the specific parts of selected pieces focused to sound. The results of analysis of both compositions clearly show the greatest benefit of accordion possibilities in tone creation, variability associated with wide tone range and a rich variety in sound transformation of techniques of other instruments of the orchestra. Final thesis leaves somewhat open ending, it should motivate composers to think about the technical capabilities of an accordion, which is primarily tempered instrument, however in some ways can produce non tempered sound. This fact can produce new quality and also new structural conce
The Influence of Steam Sterilization Processes on the Micro- and Macromechanical Properties of Polyamide Fiber-Reinforced PDMS Composites for Medical Device Applications
Sochor, M. ; Balík, Karel ; Sedláček, R. ; Suchý, Tomáš ; Sucharda, Zbyněk ; Šepitka, J. ; Lukeš, J.
The effect of multiple steam sterilization processes on the structural integrity of the polymer matrix composite polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) reinforced with polyamide fibers (Aramid) is investigated by 3- and 4-point bending tests and by nanoindentation.
Ways of decision execution practised by selected municipal authority while ensuring its activity.
LUKEŠ, Jaroslav
Annotation The objective and central theme of this paper is to compare the various methods of decision enforcement undertaken by municipal authorities in carrying out their activities in terms of frequency and success. A prerequisite for success is to identify the effectiveness of decision enforcement in terms of the form. Another condition is to compare groups of citizens against whom decision enforcement is directed in terms of social stratification, i.e. in terms of education and age ? the factors from which we assume their position in society. To find out what is the practical process of decision enforcement. The assumption is that the territorial offices of municipal authorities use mostly the pecuniary form of decision enforcement and that this form is effective in meeting the claims of beneficiaries. The primary method chosen is quantitative research; the secondary method is the analysis of data from the database of the Milevsko Municipal Authority. The target group of the research is a set of citizens, against whom the municipal authority in Milevsko carried out decision enforcement proceedings in the period of 2009-2010. The bachelor?s thesis can be used to pursue the given issue, for sociological study - which groups of people commit offences dealt with in administrative proceedings, or failure to comply with other legal obligations. Information from the thesis can be used as supplementary material for competent officials dealing with the issue of decision enforcement. This feedback can positively influence the municipal authority staff?s approach to clients in terms of social perceptions of a particular situation. I plan to introduce the results of my work to the workers and discuss the findings with them.
Geometrické faktory mikroindentace vazkopružných materiálů ostrým indentorem
Minster, Jiří ; Bláhová, O. ; Lukeš, J. ; Němeček, J.
Two approaches are applied to define short-term histories of creep compliance of a common epoxy composition loaded by a step load using microindentation data with the aim to compare the results with previously received data from standard macro measurements and to examine limitations of the method.
Měření vazkopružných vlastností termosetického materiálu pomocí nanoindentace
Lukeš, J. ; Němeček, J. ; Minster, Jiří
Mechanical properties of thermosetting material were studied by means of nanoindentation. A 3x3 matrix of indents was carried out in the load controlled regime. A 5-parameter combined Kelvin-Voigt-Maxwell creep model was successfully used to model a typical loading short-time behaviour of the material. Viscoelastic constants of the model have been found both for loading and dwell parts of the test.
Least Developed Countries (LDC), the problems of economic development and their solutions.
