Commented translation - smart home technologies.
Los, Marek ; Kotásek, Miroslav (referee) ; Šťastná, Dagmar (advisor)
The Bachelor’s thesis deals with the translation of a professional technical text from Czech to English language and the linguistic items encountered in the translation process. The original Czech text on the topic of smart home technologies has been chosen, translated into English and then analysed by the linguistic means. The analysis addressed linguistic features such as terms, acronyms, neologisms and cohesion. The thesis disclosed many difficulties encountered by a translator during the translation from Czech to English. Most of these difficulties are linked to fidelity to the original idea of the source text.

Proposal for the Improved Salary Structure in the Company
Bušová, Jana ; Los, Miroslav (referee) ; Martinovičová, Dana (advisor)
The bachelor thesis analyzes the motivation of the staff and the salary structure in the theoretical part. The practical part consists of the research by questionnaire as a main instrument which is used during the research. The questionnaire contains questions about the evaluation system of the staff and according to the research the solution for a new salary structure and for the staff motivation was suggested. At the end of this thesis there is a proposal for the improved salary structure and motivation system which will be more preferable in the staff.
Study of the ecological impact of production, operation and disposal of various types of cars
Los, Marek ; Máca, Josef (referee) ; Jaššo, Kamil (advisor)
The life cycle of a car includes three basic phases: production, operation and end-of-life. All these phases can potentially produce emissions that have a direct impact on the environment. However, different types of cars may produce different amounts of emissions during the life cycle phases, depending not only on the type of propulsion but also on local factors such as the emission factor of the energy mix. The results of the research showed that the potential environmental benefit of lower GHG emissions of battery electric vehicles depends primarily on the emission factor of the energy mix. In countries such as Poland, where the majority of electricity produced is generated by burning coal and lignite, the life cycle environmental performance of battery cars will be higher than that of combustion cars. Conversely, in countries with a favourable energy mix, such as Sweden, the potential to reduce transport emissions by replacing the existing car fleet with electric cars is significant. Furthermore, four reference vehicles are proposed for which life cycle GHG emissions are calculated using the proposed calculation method using local emission factors.

However, different types of cars may produce different amounts of emissions during the life cycle phases, depending not only on the type of propulsion but also on local factors such as the emission factor of the energy mix. The results of the research showed that the potential environmental benefit of lower greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of battery electric vehicles depends primarily on the emission factor of the energy mix. In countries such as Poland, where the majority of electricity produced is generated by burning coal and lignite, the life cycle environmental performance of battery cars will be higher than that of combustion cars. Conversely, in countries with a favorable energy mix, such as Sweden, the potential to reduce transport emissions by replacing the existing car fleet with electric cars is significant. Practical part of this papers aims to compare the environmental impact from the view of greenhouse gas emissions throughout the life cycle of conventional petrol, diesel, natural gas and electric cars in local conditions.
