Digital images of the Arab Spring

The main topic of my thesis are audiovisual images of a new sort which spread across traditional media and internet video-sharing websites during the events of Arab revolutions in 2011. This amateur footage was made by direct participants of revolution events, not by professional journalist or documentarists. In my thesis I research these video-images in the context of imaging of political violence in the history with special focus on the history of war photography and journalism. My thesis investigates the role of new media and the internet in changes of the experience of watching audiovisual footage. Last part is an effort of classification of the amateur AV images of the Arab Spring and review of their significance in the context of contemporary documentary film and journalism.

The diploma thesis is focused on proposal of internal production supply in the Walter Ltd. The company is undergoing changes in the production layout and therefore it is necessary to design a new system of production supply. The theoretical part focuses on Toyota production system and methods used in this system. Next part of the theoretical part is dedicated to lean management and lean manufacturing. The last point of theoretical part are supplying and material handling. The theoretical part is basis for analytical part in which is mapped the current state of supplying production lines. The last point of diploma thesis are solution proposals based on analytical data’s.
Quadcopter localization in 3D space based on mono-camera

This bachelor thesis focuses on the possibilities of existing methods for locating the UAV AscTec Pelican using a monocular camera. The methods SVO, PTAM and LSD-SLAM were tested in both inner and outer environments using various cameras, lenses and hardware with different performance. Based on the experience gained during the testing, guidelines on how to achieve the best results are made.
Device for measuring the centre of gravity height position of road vehicle

This diploma thesis deals the with measurment of the centre of gravity height position of a road vehicle and its issues. The introduction of this thesis focuses on the determining of the position of the center of gravity and the moment of inertia of a road vehicle. The next part is about creationing of a construction plan and its verification. The thesis contains a sensitivity analysis of this device including its results. The end of the thesis informs about the executed measurment in a laboratory and about recommendations for next measurments.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is create a research study about noise reduction methods in automotive design. The introduction of this work deals with acoustic and the influence of noise on people. Furthermore it deals with ways of noise creation in a car and its suppression. In the end of this work there is a valorization of certain methods at noise suppression of a personal vehicle.

Author Jan Rendl in his thesis attempts to look at the world of ideas and educator Jan Gogola ml. through the eleven chapters in which each chapter somehow characterizes itself by Jan Gogola ml. and each of them somehow determines its creative ideas of it through the metaphor of a football match when Jan Gogola, with its characters, movies himself a teammate, as well as defensively. It gives goals with their situations as well as occasionally digging his opponents ankles. Jan Gogola ml. thus embodies one stage of the Department of Documentary Film at FAMU, which often stands at the intersection between teaching activities and Karel Vachek among students who applied by them during their seminars psychological methods that work must be peculiarly associated with the author of the film.

The student's movies are Igor Chaun's The beatiful portrait, Vít Klusák's Vinigar, Bohdan Bláhovec's In reconstruction and my film Portrait of my dead father.
Mockument

Thesis The Mockumentary is dedicated to the issues of questioning credibility of audio and video messages broadcasted through audiovisual media. Mockuments are trying, through the methods of documentary and fictitous content, to uncover manipulative approach of audiovisual products and they are often mocking documentary itself. The represantation of reality is the most important common issue of the documentary and the mockumentary. Mockuments are questioning the credibility of archival materials as the source of truth about past or any materials which try to act as unprejudiced evidence of the reality. For the appreciatation of the mockument is necessary to have a spectator acquanted with historical, cultural and political context of the piece, the spectator which is capable to uncover its hidden content more tightly allied with the reality than with the fiction.
Travel Documentary and Travel Show

This master thesis deals with travel documentaries. It presents the genre's basic definitions and briefly describes its history from the beginning of cinematography up to now, with a special focus on current Czech and foreign TV series. Filming and post-production dramaturgical rules and production limits are described in the case study of television series Na cestě, and their resulting impact on the show's traits is analyzed. The outcomes of television rating and viewer satisfaction measurements are also dealt with; moreover, based on the available data, a viewer profile is outlined, attempting to deduce what his visions and expectations are. As a contrast with TV production, the paper includes two creative documentaries, which characteristics also fit the travel genre: Notebook from China, by Danish director Jorgen Leth, and Šimon Špidla's Into Oblivion. The study compares their style and ways of narration, draws a comparison with series' features, and aims to answer whether or not the conditions of TV series production enable creative travel filmmaking.
