Peteříková, Vendula ; Bunc, Václav (advisor) ; Kovářová, Lenka (referee)
Title: The Nutrition Habits and Knowledge of middle and long distance runners Targets: The thesis main target is to determine dietary habits of endurance men and women runners, their interest in health nutrition and their nutrition information sources. Another aim to achieve is to find out their basic knowledge of body composition and human nutrition. Methods: The thesis was worked out on the base of questionnaires , that were prepared with regard to the author personal experience and knowledge. The questionnaires were handed in personaly to the respondents at runners competition, as soon as the race was finished and most of the runners used to wait for their results. The respondents were kept in anonymity in order to ensure as much objective answers as possible. The meaning of questionnaire completion was explained by the author to each of the responding runners. The validity of the questionnaire was consequently confirmed by the mean of guided interview between the author and the runner responded. Results: Endurance runners are keen on following the health nutrition principles. The dietary habits of the major part of the respondants correspond to requirements related to the field of energy-intensive sport. Most of the runners do not use energy bars and nutritional supplements. On the base of the...
Comparison of heart rate and external performance at selected field tests for determining maximum heart rate for bicyclists and triathletes when cycling.
Podrazil, Tomáš ; Horčic, Josef (advisor) ; Kovářová, Lenka (referee)
Title: Comparison of the heart rate values and external performance is based on selected field tests determining maximal heart rate in cycling of cyclist and triathletes Objectives: Objective of thesis is to determine the values of maximal heart rate and external performance from selected field tests in cycling and compare them with one another. Methods: Five cyclist were measured in field tests and acquired results were used to create the graphs and tables. Data were obtained by cycling performance meter Powertap and cycle computer Garmin Edge 500. For the analysis of the measured data was used software Garmin Connect. Results: Based on the results of thesis it can be stated, that the measurement turn out as we expected. The difference of maximal heart rate between test-A and test-B is differed by 3-5 beats, which is not decisive. Both tests can be used for determine maximal heart rate. These tests are suitable for measuring the performance of athletes. Maximal heart rate is not in present an important indicator for training of fitness of individual. For training I would suggest to take a test of lactate curve in the laboratory. Keywords: cycling, external performance, heart rate, terrain test, Powertap
Somatotype comparison of current UK FTVS students and UK FTVS students forty years ago
Zapala, Michal ; Honsová, Šárka (advisor) ; Kovářová, Lenka (referee)
Title: Somatotype comparison of current UK FTVS students and UK FTVS students forty years ago. Objectives: Main aim of the theses is to compare the current level of student's somatic prerequisites to successful performance studies at UK FTVS in comparison with the somatic level of students studied forty years ago. Another aim of the theses is to illustrate method for measuring body fat by calliper. Subject and Methods: The total set consists of 901 somatotypes of students UK FTVS. Somatotypes were processed from protocols on the results of measurements, which contains the components values of somatotype and somatic parameters necessary for their determination. Processed values of somatotype were compared through statistical processes and through somatocharts. The illustration was created with a pencil simply in a lines with a minimal of shading. Results: Endomorphic components of somatotypes increased in a comparation with a set of students who studied fourty years ago. Higher values could have result in difficulties with fulfilment of practical credit requirements of endurance skills. Conversely mesomorphic components are lower against second set of students. It may result in difficulties with fulfilment of practical credit requirements of power skills. Keywords: somatotype, retrospective study,...

Title: Vague information on finite alphabets and its monotonous characteristics Author: Mgr. Lenka Kovářová Department: Department of Probability and Mathematical Statistics Supervisor: prof. RNDr. Viktor Beneš, DrSc. Abstract: The bachelor thesis is focused on information-theoretic source of messages with vague recognition from a final general alphabet. The aim of this work is to compile an overview of existing approaches to entropy and information. There were published several approaches how to convert to the fuzzy set theory the concept of entropy, which was originally introduced in physics, mathematically expressed as an additive-probability model and adjusted for Shannon probabilistic information source. Most of these approaches maintains the additive-probability model, while the emphasis in the theory of fuzzy sets is laid on the characteristics of minimum and maximum. UNIVERZITA KARLOVA V PRAZE Fakulta tSlesne vychovy a sportu SURNAME AND NAME OF THE AUTHOR: Eva Tuhackova FIELED OF STUDY: Physical Education and Sport SUPERVISOR: PaedDr. Josef Horcic, PhD. DISSERTATION TITLE Evaluation of strain demands during spinning of chosen groups of fitness centre clients. GOALS The goal of this dissertation is the evaluation of strain demands during spinning, of chosen groups of fitness centre clients and the evaluation of fitness changes after a three-month interventional training program. METHOD This dissertation has been compiled in the form of experimental quantitative research. Research has been done in standard conditions with minimizing external influence (spinning hall). The chosen groups are clients from Marianske Lazne and Prague, who regularly visit spinning lessons 1 -2 times a week. RESULTS While evaluating the results of the measured group during the three-month interventional training, fitness of the individual measured groups showed recorded increases as well as decreases. Decreasing average cardiac rate, consequently increasing body fitness, was recorded for men. On the contrary for women, increasing average cardiac rate was recorded and consequently decreasing body fitness. Decreasing maximum pulse rate was recorded during measured spinning lessons for all groups...

Charles Univerzity in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Analytical Chemistry Candidate: Lenka Kovářová Consultant: Doc. RNDr. Dalibor Šatínský, PhD. Title of thesis: Development of HPLC method for determination of vitamin E acetate in preparations Geladrink A HPLC method was developed for the determination of content of vitamin E-acetate in preparation Geladrink Forte. The method is based on using Chromolith Performance RP- 18e column (100 x 4.6 mm) and UV detection at 290 nm. The vitamin E-acetate was separated in the presence of internal standard cholecalciferol from ballast matrix. There was used isocratic elution of the mobile phase methanol - water (98:2) at a flow-rate of 2.0 ml/min and at temperature 30 řC during the measurement. The system enabled successful separation in time less than 4 min. The retention time of cholecalciferol was 2.26 min and the retention time of vitamin E-acetate was 3.22 min. Chromatographic resolution between cholecalciferol and vitamin E-acetate was 5.248. Method was applied to analysis of vitamin E-acetate in preparation Pro-Visio, too. The found concentrations of vitamin E-acetate were re-counted on content of vitamin E declared by that the producer. Keywords: vitamin E-acetate, HPLC, Geladrink, Pro-Visio.
