Cardiovascular risc factors and complications associated with atherosclerosis - their prevalence and control in seniors in the EUROAGEISM H2020 project

INTRODUCTION Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are currently on the first place among the causes of death worldwide and also in the Czech Republic (CR). The most common causes of death among CVDs are disorders associated with atherosclerosis (ATS) and the prevalence of atherosclerosis and their complications increases with increasing age. The aim of this diploma thesis was to document CVS morbidity in geriatric patients in the sample of FIP7 program of the EUROAGEISM H2020 project, mainly the prevalence of CVS disorders associated with ATS, and to evaluate the controll of risk factors associatedwith general risks of progression of ATS. METHODS The data collection for this theses was carried out in the CR from September 2018 to January 2019 in patients in acute care at the age of 65 and older at geriatric wards in Hradec Králové (HK) and Brno. Patients involved in the study were those admitted to hospitalization at the time of data collection, were complying with inclusion criteria and undersigned the informed consent. Analysis of Marketing Strategies of Pharmacies

The theoretical part of this diploma thesis defines basic terms related to the marketing and gives a general overview of marketing strategies. It also evaluates the importance of marketing in public health services and describes possibilities of internet health technologies that patients use for the contact with health professionals and getting information about health. The practical part analyzes patients' opinion on pharmacy marketing practice and importance of internet communication. Data were collected via the questionnaire survey among the users of internet and Facebook and customers in one independent community pharmacy in Beroun. Practical part also refers about the experimental marketing campaign that was performed in the pharmacy in Beroun and that focused on the creating promotion materials and technologies of internet communication. According to results, many patients appreciate marketing activities of community pharmacies. There is also noticeable a positive trend of using the web sites and social media to connect with the community pharmacy. A pharmacist is also very often the last link in the chain of healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of a patient and thus has a unique opportunity to detect any potential errors or risk of a given therapy. Regarding the self- medication, the pharmacist is often the only person, with whom the patient consults his therapy. Objective: The aim of this thesis is to analyse dispensing activities provided by pharmacies in Hradec Kralove. Methodology: Analysis of a dispensing activity of a prescription-only drug and over-the- counter product. The list of pharmacies was identified through the SÚKL database. The data collected during the visits were from the 32 pharmacies in total. The data collection tool was mystery shopping that followed thoroughly prepared scenario. It relates to increasing impact on testing of drugs before launch onto the market, but also following monitoring, so the benefit and risk ratio of drug can be determined. Pharmacovigilance takes care of monitoring of drug use risk. Zolpidem is active substance from class hypnotics and it is used for short-term treatment of insomnia. Most professionals recommend zolpidem as first line treatment of acute insomnia. That is why it can be considered as one of the most important hypnotic drugs. Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyze spontaneous reports for adverse drug reaction for zolpidem from years 2004 to 2017. Introduction: Proportion of the population over the age of 65 is continuously increasing in the European Union, and therefore, the number of polymorbid patients with polypharmacy, limited functional capacities and syndrome of geriatric frailty is rising every year as well. In order to support the quality of geriatric prescribing and to lower possible adverse drug events, explicit criteria for potentially inappropriate drugs and drug procedures for elderly have been created. The aim of the diploma thesis was to evaluate how many potentially inappropriate medications (PIMs) for elderly out of 22 explicit criteria were registered in 6 countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Portugal, Serbia, Spain and Turkey) participating at the 1st phase of the EU COST Action IS1402 initiative and which criterion or what group of regional criteria (European, American, Asian) would be the most specific and most suitable in individual countries for prospective international study following the quality of PIM prescribing. Increased living costs of tetraplegic with disability caused by an accident and their compensation by state contributions

The theme of thesis is to define the living costs of person with the spinal cord injury in the cervical spine - tetraplegics. Tetraplegics are specific group of people with injury. Partial goal is to find out, whether state contributes and compensates health handicap of citizens enough. Thesis describes spends needed on one side and possibilities of state contributions on the other side. First part of theoretical part clarifies handicap of spinal cord injury and associated complications. It describes necessary compensational and medical equipment including process of its aquirement. Second part of theoretical part is based on Czech legislation and analyzes savings, advantages and contributions provided by social system of Czech Republic for disabled people.
