The specifics of communication in hookah community on Facebook
Kopáček, Jakub ; Závozda, Petr (advisor) ; Soukup, Martin (referee)
This thesis deals with the topic of how the members of online community of hookah smokers (hookah community) communicate. The core of the thesis lies in the quantitative content analysis of the content published in three hookah community Facebook groups. The results of the analysis are complemented with insight gained through semi-structured interviews conducted with seven members of the hookah community, using qualitative analysis. The first part of the thesis outlines the new media, describes basic terminology and concepts of social networks and marketing communication, provides an introduction into the topic of online communities, and describes hookahs, the hookah community, and the commercial entities involved in the hookah industry. The second part of the thesis describes the methodology of quantitative and qualitative research, presents the obtained findings, and provides their summary utilizing the knowledge presented in the theoretical part of the thesis. The thesis aims to describe and evaluate the current state of communication within the hookah community Facebook groups and map the presence of commercial communication in the analyzed content.
Prediction of phosphorus concentration and trophic conditions in reservoirs
Hejzlar, Josef ; Kopáček, Jiří ; Vystavna, Yuliya
The model prediction of phosphorus (P) concentration in reservoirs is important for controlling water quality and trophic conditions, e.g. to determine to what level external P load should be reduced in order to decrease trophic conditions and achieve good ecological potential. The mass balance of P for 26 reservoirs and lakes in the Czech Republic showed that the relationship between the inflow P concentration and the in-reservoir P concentration is not determined solely by hydrological parameters (water residence time or hydraulic load) or inflow P concentration but is fundamentally influenced by the internal P loading from sediments and in-reservoir P cycling. These are individual characteristics of each reservoir and may change, for example with sediment accumulation or changes in external P load. Therefore, the prediction models need to be assembled and calibrated for each reservoir individually and the model structure should be adapted to their specific conditions.
Groundwater Influence of Streamflow Quality in Crystalline Areas under Easing Acid Deposition
Erbanová, Lucie ; Hrkal, Zbyněk (advisor) ; Navrátil, Tomáš (referee) ; Kopáček, Jiří (referee)
Surface waters from crystalline areas are a significant easily accessible source of drinking water. However, these areas often experienced high loads of acids from atmospheric deposition over the last century. Degradation of soils and surface waters occurred subsequently, especially in areas built of rocks vulnerable to acidification. The main objectives were to quantify the role that groundwaters play during streamflow generation and to evaluate the rate that groundwaters control stream water chemistry. The present-day quality of groundwaters and surface waters was compared with the quality at the period of easing atmospheric deposition. Groundwater brings base cations released by bedrock weathering into streamflow enhancing streamwater alkalinity at all flow levels. During baseflow conditions, streamflow was predominantly supplied with groundwater from deeper fractured bedrock. However, groundwater runoff is supplemented by water from shallower catchment reservoirs (shallower fractured bedrock, soils and overland flow). Thus, the chemistry of baseflow is not as invariable as usually considered. The acid neutralizing capacity (ANC) of stream water was correlated with the amount of more acid waters. To the contrary, the pH of streamflow was stable during baseflow conditions. Alkaline groundwaters...
Phosphorus concentration in the Orlík and Slapy reservoirs: a result of socio-economic trends in the catchment and climate change
Hejzlar, Josef ; Jarošík, Jiří ; Kopáček, Jiří ; Vystavna, Yuliya
Based on existing phosphorus data series in the Slapy and Orlík reservoirs and their main tributaries, we reconstructed P inputs to the reservoirs from the catchment during 1961–2016 and compiled\nempirical models of P retention. P concentrations in both reservoirs increased from the 1960s to 1991 and then declined, with the Slapy Reservoir having a significantly increased year-on-year\nvariability. Trends in the increase and decrease of P reflected the socio-economic development in the Vltava river basin, in particular sewerage, wastewater discharges, fertilizer application, livestock,\nand fishpond fisheries. In the Slapy reservoir after 1991, the P concentrations increased during wet summers and created conditions for growth of phytoplankton, whereas in dry summers they\ndecreased to mesotrophy. Climatic and hydrological processes have now apparently begun to compete with a generally decreasing P pollution and support eutrophication despite the drop in P loads from the catchment.
The in-store communication of iSmoke.cz
Kopáček, Jakub ; Jesenský, Daniel (advisor) ; Koudelková, Petra (referee)
The thesis, "In-store marketing communication of iSmoke.cz", deals with in-store marketing communication, focusing mainly on multisensory communication and its practical use in the iSmoke Store. The first part of the thesis presents a definition of in-store marketing communication, describes basic tools and terminology of this strategy, introduces multisensory communication, and focuses on current trends in in-store communication. The second part of the thesis describes the concept of the iSmoke.cz online store and iSmoke Store focusing on the range of products, since they carry certain specific sales characteristics. The thesis also describes how in-store and multisensory communication are implemented in the iSmoke Store, making use of the theoretical basis laid down in the first part of the thesis. The aim of the thesis is to describe and evaluate the current state of in-store marketing communication and find more ways of incorporating specific tools and senses inside of the stores.
Linux-Based Drivers for Embedded Systems
Kopáček, Jaroslav ; Strnadel, Josef (referee) ; Dobai, Roland (advisor)
Issues of design and writing device drivers is wide-ranging and therefore in this thesis we focus on the design of drivers for devices with field-programmable gate array (FPGA). Compared to the application-specific integrated circuit processors, where functionality is immutable, it is necessary for each new FPGA configuration to write a new driver for the required behavior. This thesis deals with the analysis of requirements and possible solutions of designing and implementation of device drivers for embedded systems based on OS Linux and the possibility of development automation. This thesis includes the design and implementation a driver generator which can generate Linux-based drivers for embedded systems. The driver generator is modular so the final driver can contain only the required functionality and no unnecessary functionality. Designed driver generator has been tested on the task of controlling light-emitting diodes which are used for diagnostics of the embedded system.
Provisions of Czech republic to reduction of incidence fo crisis on Czech republic
Kopáček, Jiří ; Mirvald, Michal (advisor) ; Bartoň, Petr (referee)
The aim of my bachelor thesis is to analyse anti-crisis provisions of National economic council of government (NERV). I confront the provisions with reality and try to find out, if the provisions are effective or not for now. Proposed provisions, which I devote in the thesis are concerned in changes in payment of insurance of employee and tax liability of firms. The thesis is devided into three main parts. In the first part I shortly devote to causes of financial and economic crisis and consequent establishment of government advisory authority -- NERV. Main topic in this part is change in payment of insurance of employee. To find out of effect of these provisions I use correlation analysis. In the second part I am engaged in change of tax rate of corporation tax. I use theories of economists of supply side (Arthur Laffer). The biggest attention I pay to Laffer curve, which I demonstrate for Czech republic. Final third part of thesis represents effect thereinbefore mentioned provisions on employment in CR, which I then compare with employment in EU.
