Y-Balance test method as a possible identifier for returning from a knee injury
Trešlová, Natálie ; Kaplan, Aleš (advisor) ; Havlas, Vojtěch (referee)
Title: Method Y - Balance Test as a possible identifier of the return after the knee injury Objectives: The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out what kind of dynamic postural stability sports persons show after a certain time after a knee joint injury. Furthermore, to compare sports persons after a knee joint injury who are already in full sports load with those who are not yet in full sports load. To find out whether the amount of muscle mass on the lower limbs has an effect on the level of dynamic postural stability. To compare the dynamic postural stability in individuals after the ligament injury with individuals after the meniscal injury. And thus find out whether the Y - Balance Test can be used as a possible identifier of the return to sports after a knee joint injury. Methods: A total of 30 sports persons took part in the research, who were for various lengths of time after knee joint injury or surgery. All these probands were tested with the dynamic postural stability test Y - Balance Test for the lower limbs and were measured with a Tanita bioimpedance scale. All measurements took place in the physiotherapy gym at the FTVS Department of Physiotherapy between March 2022 and March 2023. Statistical evaluation was performed in the RStudio program (version 2023.03.0+386, R version 4.2.3)....

Mikulášková, Veronika ; Kaplan, Aleš (advisor) ; Petružela, Jan (referee)
Title: Monitoring fitness in elite female handball players. Objectives: The subject of the bachelor thesis is the analysis of the conditioning abilities of a women's handball team playing in the highest Czech competition. The comparison of the results measured during the preparation period, first at the beginning and then in the final phase of the cycle, will show us the positive influence of physical conditioning during the game break or, on the contrary, will serve the coaches of the chosen club as an indicator of incorrectly chosen concept of training units. Methods: Testing was conducted on 18 elite female handball players aged 19 to 30 years. Using 5 selected field tests, we diagnosed the level of selected fitness abilities that are central to achieving quality performance in handball. According to the comparison and statistical processing of the results, differences between pretest and posttest performances were determined. The individual tests concerned dynamic lower limb strength (vertical jump and horizontal jump), throwing arm strength (2kg medicine ball throw), running endurance (beep test) and speed and coordination skills (agility T- test). Primary and secondary measurements were taken 6 weeks apart. Results: Control data from the posttests showed improvement in all tested disciplines....

Using heart rate variability as a tool in the training process and optimizing the effect of training load
Treglerová, Michaela ; Feher, Jan (advisor) ; Kaplan, Aleš (referee)
This thesis focuses on heart rate variability (HRV) and how measuring, evaluating and working with data collected through the my Sasy mobile app can affect athlete performance. If training is modified according to the body's response to load, it can lead to more efficient performance gains, correct timing of more difficult training and control of overload or overtraining. If training is well planned and the principles of progressive loading during the macrocycle are followed, it is possible to obtain benefit by means of HRV, which reflects the state of the organism in relation to the autonomic nervous system (parasympathetic and sympathetic). If the individual is insufficiently compensated for the next load in the context of the training process, sympathetic activity will predominate and thus the following training unit would not have the desired effect (adaptive changes of the organism). This could lead to overload or overtraining in the long term. Title: Using heart rate variability as a tool in the training process and optimizing the effect of training load Objectives: The aim of the study was to investigate the applicability of monitoring heart rate variability in training of athletes (combined athletes/ hurdlers/throwers). Furthermore, its influence on performance when adjusting the load...

Havránek, Jan ; Kaplan, Aleš (advisor) ; Feher, Jan (referee)
Title of the bachelor's thesis: Evalution of speed limits on non elite soccer players Processed by: Jan Havránek Supervisor of the bachelor's thesis: doc. PhDr. Mgr. Aleš Kaplan, MBA, Ph.D. Objectives of the thesis: The aim of this thesis is to monitor and subsequently interpret the results of tests focused on speed abilities in a selected group of non elite football players. Methodology: Testing of speed parameters was conducted on semi-professional football players who play in the ČFL, which is the 3rd Czech league. The evaluation itself was based on the results of six simple tests. These tests included three tests for linear speed: a 5-meter sprint, a 10-meter sprint, and a 20-meter sprint. There were two agility tests: the K-test and the 505 test. And the final test focused on lower limb explosive power: the vertical jump. The results section is then divided into two chapters. The first chapter compares the results of the pre-test and post-test. The second chapter focuses on evaluating speed abilities from the perspective of player positions. Results of the thesis: When comparing the results between the pre-test and post-test, there were no significantly large differences that would allow us to say that there was a development of speed abilities as a result of the testing. From the second part...

Procházka, Vladimír ; Hojka, Vladimír (advisor) ; Kaplan, Aleš (referee)
Title: A comparison of Change of direction speed and reactive agility in football Objectives: The aim of the thesis is to determine the level of skill of football players in agility and change of direction speed. Also to find out whether these two abilities correlate with each other, if the best players in agility also achieve the best results in tests focused mainly on change of direction speed and which components distinguish these two abilities from each other. Method: By using metaanalysis we first define the parameters of individual performance in football, its requirements and needs at the present time, the importance of change of direction speed and agility for football performance. At the same time, we will determine the differences between the environment and preparation of football players in the Czech republic and abroad. I would like to describe here the components and sub-components of performance in agility and finally introduce the differences between tests focused on change of direction speed and reactive agility. Key words: Agility, football, change of direction speed, reactive agility

Title: Participation of the players on the team game performance in ZBL matches Objectives: My work deals with the proportion of female players on the team's performance in the game of basketball teams in the women's top basketball competition - ZBL. My main aim is to explore these trends from the season 1998/1999 to 2019/2020. The file of observed extraleague players was divided into three categories (Czech players under 20 years, foreigners, Czech players over 20 years). At the same time I determined the monitored characteristics (number of players, numbers of minutes played, numbers of points scored, coefficients of validity) that are significant for the research. The data from the Women's Basketball League can be found on the website of Czech Basketball Federation, where they are available. This work follows, updates and extends my Diploma thesis (2014). Methods: The study is based on the secondary analysis of statistical data of different teams that participated in the seasons from 1998/1999 to 2019/2020 in the Women's Basketball League (ZBL). The focused seasons are divided into several years cycles and for further processing I used basic statistical and comparative methods, to get information if there is existence of link among focused situation we used Chi- squared test independence in...
