IMPORTANCE OF TOWN-TWINNING ON THE EXAMPLE OF SELECTED TOWNS IN THE CENTRAL BOHEMIA REGION

This Bachelor thesis is focused on a cooperation of towns with an emphasis on international cooperation through the town-twinning. The first part analyzes the theoretical framework and objectives of cooperation, the legislation and possibilities of financing. In the second part the thesis focuses on three particular towns in Central Bohemia Region - Beroun, Černošice and Dobřichovice - and examines cooperation in reality. At the end the work compares the two previous parts. Here, the thesis focuses on the reality of financing -- it was found to be (due to difficulties with applications for finances) better to rely on towns' own sources -- and also answers the key questions that proves undeniable importance of this form of cooperation: it is advantageous for all participating towns and they are able to fulfill theoretical goals in reality.
Obchodní a politické vztahy mezi Českou republikou a zeměmi Latinské Ameriky

Main objective of the thesis is to evaluate trade and political relations between the Czech Republic and selected countries in Latin America (selected countries will be those with strongest ties to the Czech Republic). Hypothesis: Trade and political relations between Czech Republic and Latin American Countries are well developing in the course of the time. Latin-American region provides a great potential for future cooperation. Emphasis will be targeted on the assessment of business conditions (including bilateral agreements on mutual trade), further on the most important export commodities and investment opportunities. At the same time, the work will attempt to estimate the level of potential of Latin American territory and further direction of mutual relationships. The research will contain a questionnaire for Czech entrepreneurs operating in Latin America and a thorough analysis of mutual trade will be given. Unfortunately, this subject is not documented with a large number of printed books, therefore, the key source of information will be databases and statistical information published by state institutions (Chamber of Deputies, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Industry and Trade, etc.). STAFFING IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION

At the outset, the Diploma thesis specifies the public administration area, especially its characteristic and status from the perspective of experts. The second part deals with problem of staffing in the public administration and analyzes the methods of selection of suitable candidates. The practical part is focused on selected public folder, which is made description, analysis and evaluation process of staffing. This section also examined whether the public folder effective number of workplace creates and whether their staffing is carried out based on predetermined rules.
Personnel management in public administration

My thesis is focused on the personnel management in public administration at local self-government units, which currently gains importance due to the ongoing reform. Human resources form the basis for quality and efficient work of offices. The aim of thesis is to analyze and evaluate personnel management in selected offices of Prague including recommendations for its improvement. The theoretical part, mainly focused on role of official in public administration and activities of personnel management, in addition to scientific literature is based mainly on Act No. 312/2002 Coll., on Officials of local self-government units. The practical part is based on the results of empirical research on which the current evaluation is made and provided recommendations.
Potential of culture and creativity in the development of the City of Pilsen

This diploma's thesis explores the phenomenon cultural and creative industries and their role in regional development. The document generally defines the most important research concepts in this area and identifies the economical importance of cultural and creative industries. Part of this document is also a presentation of the project European Capital of Culture and the definition of its economic benefits. The priority of this study is to map the cultural and creative industries in the Pilsen region and the city of Pilsen and evaluation of the effectiveness and impact of the project Pilsen 2015-European Capital of Culture for the development of the region. Based on the results of the analytical investigation is assessed potential of culture and creativity in the development of the Pilsen region and the city of Pilsen.
Limits and Risks of Public-Private Partnerships Development

Objective of this diploma thesis is to identify risks and barriers connected with expansion of using the Public-Private Partnership concept, fractional objective is to identify limiting factors which affect still not very developed PPP projects in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of the thesis is dedicated to definition of PPP concept and explanation of its specific characteristics in providing of public goods. The practical part is focused on chosen projects. On this sample are limits of expansion of using PPPs identified and analysed using the method of partial generalization. On the basis of analysis of available literature and qualitative research made there are suggested possible solutions.
Analysis of the use and implementation of existing infrastructure support rural tourism in the example of measures III.1.3 Rural Development Programme of the Czech Republic

The aim of the thesis is to identify and analyze the utilization and implementation of the existing infrastructure support for rural tourism in the Czech Republic on the example of Rural Development Program of the CR, actions III.1.3. The theoretical part deals with the definition of tourism infrastructure, tourism as one of the factors of regional development and the potential to promote tourism with a focus on its infrastructure. The practical part is focused on promoting tourism within the Rural Development Program of the CR. At the micro level there are assessed subsidies for the period 2007-2010. The source for analyzing is the data obtained from publicly available databases of the State Agricultural Intervention Fund and interviews with representatives of the regional offices of the intermediate body (SAIF). In this thesis descriptive, comparative and analytical methods are used. The character of the gained data is both primary and secondary. The main contribution of this work, based on the findings, is evaluation of the use of subsidies to support the tourism infrastructure within the Rural Development Programme of the CR - Encouragement of touristic activities during the 1st half of the current programming period.
Currant Family in the Czech Republic

In my thesis I will focus on issue of changes in current Czech family roles and status. Main objective of my thesis is to cover essential roots of these changes. This topic was covered by me on basis of statistical and demogarfical data published in professional press as well as on individual study of independent sources. Changes in the family values are also caused by interchanging roles of men and women, their individual participation in operation, education and economic welfare of a family. These topics are also covered in the paper.These issues will be analyzed in regard of social mobility and unequality of particular family members, which influences theis social nad cultural capital, as well as consecuent ability to assert themselves in labour market. Changes in economic and social conditions have influenced family life very substantially, thus, partial task of my diploma thesis will be research focused on whether or not, in economicaly and socialy deprived regiones with relatively high unemployment, there are changes in family life influenced by disadvantegous social and economic conditons of a particular family dwelling area. My conception of this diploma thesis should contribute to understanding of development of a Czech family in contemporary social-economic and geopolitical development of Czech Republic in new millenium.
Barriers to the development of tourism in the Alpes-Maritimes

In this thesis the limits of development of tourism have been mapped in one of most visited regions in France. The main objective was to determine the primary and secondary barriers to development of tourism in the Alpes-Maritimes. The impairment causes the negative factors of development, an analysis of individual service sectors which are directly linked to tourism and the characteristics of the region in terms of natural, cultural and other attrac-tions. The conclusion has been drawn up comprehensive SWOT analysis and proposals for measures to support the development of tourism in the selected area.
Analysis of the Human Resource Management Effectiveness in the Area of Public Administration Focused on the Development and Education of Employees

The thesis called "Analysis of the Human Resource Management Effectiveness in the Area of Public Administration Focused on the Development and Education of Employees" deals with procedures of human resources first at the general level and then continues by introducing and evaluating their characteristics in the area of public administration. The attention is mainly paid to education of employees and descriptions of individual methods and procedures. Additionally, applicability in public administration where strict legislation is enforced is studied. My thesis is a synthesis of both theoretical knowledge and its concrete application at the Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic. All human resources activities are evaluated as the research in isolated areas would not be objective. At the end of the thesis, individual aspects of human resources and human resources activities in the area of public administration resulting from practical findings received from the Ministry of Transport are critically evaluated and certain recommendations which could lead into increase in effectiveness of the human resource management in the area of public relations are set.
