Energy valuation of systems of ventilation and air-conditioning

The main theme of dissertation theses is systems of ventilation and air-condition used in buildings. Work consists of analyse of this systems and parameters of indoor clime whose are affected by them. It summarizes demands on the process of calculation the energy efficiency of the building services by actual legislative. On one chosen type of building is done the energy simulation of implemented systems of ventilation and air-condition by energy efficiency and their specific need of energy.
Porušování jemnozrnného cementového kompozitu v blízkosti rozhraní plniva a matrice

The Interfacial Transition Zone (ITZ) between the aggregate grain/reinforcement bar and the matrix is considered to be the weakest element in cementitious composites and is, according to some authors, directly responsible for the nonlinear (more precisely, quasi-brittle) behavior of the composites. The aim of this work is verification of the generally accepted paradigm of the weakest element by means of fracture experiments and corresponding numerical simulations. In the experimental part, in addition to traditional fracture tests, modern methods of 3D scanning, scanning electron microscopy, chemical analysis using an electron microprobe and nanoindentation were used. In the numerical part, models based on generalized linear elastic fracture mechanics as well as modern models intended for the simulation of cement composites, namely crack band model with smeared cracks and the Microplane model, were used. Based on the results, the numerical part was complemented by the Cohesive Zone Material model simulating the behavior of the interface. All results are discussed and put into context with already published work. The main conclusion of the work is that the properties of the ITZ do not have such an influence on the behavior of cement composites as the adhesion between the inclusion and the ITZ, i.e. the matrix.
Aspects of an experimental solution with the use of geothermal energy in Balneotherapy

The Earth, our home planet is world unlike any other. The third planet from the sun is the only place in the known universe confirmed to host life. We, the humans always headed up to reach set up goals, innovate our technologies and way of living. The fact that, we had never been aware of is that this race to our bright and modern future is destroying our home. By this time, the global temperature arises by 1,9 oC since 1880, 427 gigatons of ice sheets were melted and there are 414 ppm of carbon dioxide particles in our atmosphere. As the trend is changing and we are above to think in green way of living, there is necessity to set up roadmaps and actions plans to stop, eventually decrease the damage which was already caused. The European union started to measure and provide actions plans to decrease the pollution and production of greenhouse gases since the year 1990 – which was set up as reference year for comparison to progress. This arrangement forced the countries to start evaluating the current statuses of their public and industrial sectors in terms of climate changes and provide climate plans for reducing the greenhouse gases. The most important part of climate action plans is to involve the renewable sources of energy into all public and industrial sectors and in this way start the green way of living. Therefore, the investigation and proper understanding of this problems must be the main focus of technical universities and scientific sectors. This dissertation thesis is the summit of 8 years studies and investigation in field of renewable sources of energy, mainly focused on geothermal energy which production in year 2002 was 0 GWh. Syscall emulation support in HelenOS

There are two main options for running a program intended for one oper- ating system on a different one. We can modify the program to use the API of the new OS. Alternatively, we can provide a compatibility layer in the new OS, transparent to the program, without changing the application. HelenOS ecosystem already allows the first. This thesis focuses on supporting the lat- ter. This thesis describes the kernel binary interface and analyses existing solutions on Linux, Windows, and specialised systems. Then we describe our prototype that transparently traps syscalls and emulates them. The emula- tion is implemented fully in userspace (except for a small kernel trampoline), and its code is executed in the context of the original application. The result allows running some of the unmodified Linux programs (focusing on GCC toolchain) on the x86_64 instance of the HelenOS system. 1
Institutionalized Care about dying Patients from the Point of Social Worker View

The following thesis focuses on several important aspects of communication and establishing relationships in palliative care, particularly in the environment of a day care center, which is established at the hospice. Partial aspects are represented by individual communication with clients, establishing positive relationship with them and activities and group work in the day care center. The thesis is divided into three main sections, whereby in the first one I deal with methodology of research and its implementation. In the second section I work with findings from the literature, combined with the practical knowledge gained from fieldwork. In conclusion I present the main findings of the observation conducted in the day care center and the hospice environment. Among the most important belong establishing communication with clients, process and communication phases and major factors affecting communication, which are demonstrated on certain cases of clients whose anamnesis differ from each other and thus we can prove the presence and influence of these factors. The same process I then chose to build relationships by finding certain factors that may influence the direction of development in the dynamics of relationship itself. The last part of the findings relates to activities in the day care...

Studie se zabývá energetickou a environmentální náročností staveb a možnostmi, jak ji ekonomicky efektivně snížit. Byly shromážděny a analyzovány údaje ze tří zdrojů: z průzkumu na stavebních úřadech, ze vzorku energetických auditů a z většího množství projektů reálných budov. byly vytvořeny modely budov, které hodnotí budovy jako celek. Do modelu byly zahrnuty potřeby energií na vytápění, ohřev vody a provoz elektrospotřebičů, odpovídající provozní náklady, potřebné reinvestice v průběhu sledované životnosti objektu a environmentální důsledky jeho provozu. Závěrečná zpráva podává celkový pohled na možnosti ovlivnění obvyklého způsobu navrhování staveb z hlediska všech účastníků tohoto procesu, a to v rámci technických, ekonomických a organizačních možností účastníků.
CMS in commercial and non-commercial environment

The subject of this thesis is content management systems (CMS) with a focus on an open source CMS Wordpress, which is designed for creating and managing content of the web sites. Also there are explained advantages and disadvantages of using CMS in commercial and non-commercial environment on two specific projects. Based on the analysis, some recommendations have been proposed for both projects.
