Influence of region coordinates selection on dynamic causal modelling results
Klímová, Jana ; Mikl, Michal (referee) ; Lamoš, Martin (advisor)
This thesis deals with functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), in particular with dynamic causal modelling (DCM) as one of the methods for effective brain connectivity analysis. It has been studied the effect of signal coordinates selection, which was used as an input of DCM analysis, on its results based on simulated data testing. For this purpose, a data simulator has been created and described in this thesis. Furthermore, the methodology of testing the influence of the coordinates selection on DCM results has been reported. The coordinates shift rate has been simulated by adding appropriate levels of various types of noise signals to the BOLD signal. Consequently, the data has been analyzed by DCM. The program has been supplemented by a graphical user interface. To determine behaviour of the model, Monte Carlo simulations have been applied. Results in the form of dependence of incorrectly estimated connections between brain areas on the level of the noise signals have been processed and discussed.
Manufacturing of guiding rail
Klímová, Jana ; Peterková, Eva (referee) ; Šlais, Miroslav (advisor)
Subject of this diploma thesis is manufacturing of the guiding rail HB 02150 made of metal sheets and used for table slide rail in drawer system. This thesis was made in cooperation with Hettich ČR Company which is producer of furniture hardware. Theses contains theoretical part which explains matters of cutting and bending technology. Marginally will be mentioned matters of spot welding. Practical part contains explanation of production of guiding rail, lay-out of bending roll and cutting tools. In this work there is also described solution of problem with wastrels caused by faulty welding of metal sheets and the draft of welding fixture which solves this problem. Economical and technical summary of this manufacturing process is the last part of this thesis.
Potential of biomass utilization in the Czech Republic
Klímová, Jana ; Otáhal, Jan (referee) ; Košner, Jan (advisor)
Main task of this bachelor work is to focus on splitting and usage of alternative, renewable energy source – biomass, as a source of thermal and combined electrical energy and to review possibility of increasing of consumption of this source on territory of the Czech Republic. In this work certain kinds of biomass, potential and possibility of it’s usage suggestion for utilization, according to Action plan for biomass and main ways of it’s development will be presented.
Retinal image registration based on binary vessel tree
Klímová, Jana ; Kolář, Radim (referee) ; Harabiš, Vratislav (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis treats of binary retinal image registration. The images were photographed with a fundus camera and consequently a vessel tree has been segmented. Two binary images of the same retina have been acquired. The aim of this thesis is to acquaint with and describe methods of retinal image segmentation and registration and to suggest a process of binary image registration. The image registration is based on binary vessel tree, which is segmented with an already existing computer programme. One of the images is referred to as the reference or source and the second image is referred to as the transformed or sensed. Two image registration methods have been proposed. The first one is based on 2D transformation and image subtraction. The sensed image is rotated and translated to the position where the vessel tree is overlaid and the images are geometrically aligned. The second method uses detection of blood vessel bifurcation in the binary retinal images.
Czech immigration to Chile in the first half of the 20th century
Klímová, Jana ; Opatrný, Josef (advisor) ; Křížová, Markéta (referee)
Czech immigration to Latin America in the 20th century is relatively well-documented phenomena. Nevertheless it still opens up some areas that invites to detailed research. One of them is the Czech emigration to Chile in the first half of the 20th century. Due to the remoteness of the Chilean Republic immigration developed much later compared to the situation in traditional immigration countries that were mainly Argentina and Brazil. We can say it is the marginal area of the Czech migration although it is possible to find even in this small group of immigrants interesting life stories of Czechs that decided to try their luck in distant South America. This thesis aims to introduce main periods of the Czech immigration to Chile in the first half of the 20th century and to describe the life stories of Czechs who have left a significant legacy in Chilean society. Author also intends to focus on motives of choosing Chile as a final destination, Chilean migration policy in the particular periods and also to development of compatriots' activity in the areas of concentration of Czech citizens. Unfortunately there is not much literature related to this issue and that is why author will primarily derive from the archival sources of Chilean or Czechoslovak origin (Archive of the Czech Ministry of Foreign...
Family (von) Hardtmuth
Klímová, Jana ; Županič, Jan (advisor) ; Horčička, Václav (referee)
This diploma thesis Family (von) Hardmuth focuses on the life of a business family from České Budějovice since the end of the 18th century until the end of the World War II. The goal of the thesis is not only a biographical study, but it also takes into consideration the process of the dynasty's social growth, initiated by a Liechtensteiner noble architect Joseph Hardtmuth, and the establishment among the city's and new aristocratic elites. This is why the study also deals with the marriage policy and public activities of the family. Therefore, in every generation we can observe a gradual avoiding the lower status society, the owners trying to symbolize fathers of the workers (parallel to the posititon of the emperor in relation to the nation), the adaptation to the aristocratic way of life, but also the national tension both in České Budějovice and the whole monarchy. The thesis also concentrates on the establishment of pencil factories and national advertising campaigns since the turn of the 19th and 20th century until the end of the World War II. The aim of the study is to contribute to the research of the German city's and new aristocratic elites, whose lives, compared to their Czech companions, have not been examined sufficiently until now.
Financial support for families in the new Europe. Using the Model family method.
Mitchell, Eva ; Hamplová, Dana (advisor) ; Klímová Chaloupková, Jana (referee) ; Šťastná, Anna (referee)
Dissertation explores the structure and level of financial support addressed to families with children in the Czech Republic and 19 other European countries as of December 2008. Attention is paid primarily to the "new" European countries, i.e. the region of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). Through analysis of tax-benefit system this study examines where the Czech Republic stands in respect of family support within the European context and assesses which European policy is most similar to the Czech model of financial family support. There are two main parts. First one introduces the welfare state and family policy typologies and theories. Second one uses the model family method to answer the following questions: Which kind of family composition benefits most from the state support? Does the Czech tax- benefit system prioritize the traditional male-breadwinner family or does it encourage the dual-earner model? What is the position of Czech lone-parent families in comparison to other European countries? Is the Czech family policy aimed at the same types of family with children as is the Slovakian family policy or any other state policy in CEE? Are these two countries still following the same trend in respect to the financial family support? And where do the new European countries fit within the existing...
