Treatment of postoperative pain - Acute Pain Service

The Bachelor thesis focuses on the treatment of postoperative pain through teams Acute Pain Service (APS). In the theoretical part the basic information about the history of treatment, creation, management, componets and types of pain. Further theoretical part contains the characteristics of postoperative pain, the factors that affect it and treatment options, and provides an overview of the work teams APS in the Czech Republic and abroad. The empirical part focuses on the evaluation of the treatment of postoperative pain in patients Sokolov Hospital, where on some selected departments provided Acute Pain Service by anesthetic team of doctors and nurses. The aim of this work is to determine whether patients who receive this service is provided to assess the treatment of postoperative pain differently than those who are not provided. It also focuses on which factors and to what extent they can influence their decisions. To obtain the data were two questionnaires,non-standard questionnaire, which includes questions on any of these possible factors and standardized questionnaire WHOQOL-BREFF mapping the quality of life.
Lay first aid in the younger school age

Bachelor's thesis "Lay first aid by children of primary school" is focus on pupils in the third class of primary school and their knowledge about first aid. The aim of this work was to find out if children know, how to cope with different situations, when there is a hurt friend or other person, with calling the ambulance service and with providing basic first aid. The theoretical part is devoted to general first aid, its history, classification, principles of calling for ambulance service and do first aid for minor and severe injuries. The empirical part contains aims and hypotheses, methodology and organization of the investigation, characterization and description of the sample. In the thesis, there is a presentation of the results of the survey, which took place at primary schools in Roztoky and Velké Přílepy and in scout in Roztoky by the form of a conversation with the children about a model situation. In the discussion there are results of the survey, interview with the scout clubs and analysis of the hypotheses. In the conclusion of this thesis, there are results of investigation and I also mention the benefit of the thesis.
Patient quality of life with glaucoma

This thesis deals with the quality of life of patients with glaucoma. Its aim is to introduce professional and general public with difficulties and changes that these patients throughout their lives restricted. The theoretical part briefly defines quality of life describes the basic characteristics of glaucoma. The practical part describes its own investigation, which took place from June to November 2015 in the eye clinic Regional hospital Kladno. A total of 83 patients were enrolled. For data collection method was chosen a questionnaire which included items the standardized questionnaires NEI-VFQ-25 and GQL-15 and items characterizing the respondent. From his own survey shows that in the sample of respondents can be observed significant differences in responses by gender, age, treatment with glaucom disease and the level of the highest educational attainment. The thesis also gives a brief description and results of studies already exist on the same or similar subject.
Interventions of Nurses in Relation to the Prevention of Sleep Deprivation of Patients Hospitalized at the Intensive

There are many studies about problematic of sleep connected with shift work. However, only few studies devoted to the conditions for good rest and sleep in patients hospitalized in intensive care units. Insufficient or poor quality sleep and relaxation are the most common problems reported by patients that were hospitalized at intensive care units (ICU). Sleep is one of the basic biological needs of human. Sleep deficit can lead to psychical and psychological dysfunction that can affect the healing process. The diploma thesis is dealing with sleeping issues of patients hospitalized especially at intensive care units. The aim of the study is to determining the opinions of nurses that work at intensive care units on meeting the needs relating with sleep and rest of hospitalized patients and mapping, what interventions they use to prevent of occurrence of difficulties in this area. The theoretical part at first describes physiology of sleep and biological rhythms, then sleep disorders, then factors affecting sleep along with the consequences of the lack of sleep and last nursing process for patients with sleep disorder. Bachelor thesis on topic of "Job satisfaction of nurses on selected departments of FN Motol" is aiming determine job satisfaction of university graduates and vocationally educated. The thesis is divided to theoretical and empirical parts. Theoretical part brings you a brief review about job satisfaction of graduates and their motivation in FN Motol, as well as contribution and assessment of aninstructor in their adaptati on process. Empirical part includes survey given to all graduates with professional experience ranging from 3 to 24 months, working on all clinics and workplaces of FN Motol, but only in medical professions. Further goal has been primary data analysis and comparison of obtained data with previous surveys on this or a similar topics in the past years. Conclusion of the thesis includes summary of the most important findings based on survey and evaluation of given career goals. Quality of life in patients with cervical cancer

My bachelor thesis deals with the quality of life in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer. The aim of the thesis is to assess the quality of life of this group of patients in the period after the completion of treatment and the influencing factors, and to compare the differences in the assessment of the quality of life for various time intervals from the completion of treatment. The theoretical part of the thesis gives an overview of cervical cancer, including the epidemiology, risk factors, classification, diagnosis, therapy and its early and late side effects, and the prevention of the disease. Definition of the quality of life is given together with the significance of the assessment of the quality of life. The empirical part is aimed to find out the subjective assessment of the quality of life and the level of functional status of the patients. The aims of the thesis and working hypotheses are defined, methods of the survey are described and the group of patients surveyed is presented. Attitude of nurses to euthanasia

The bachelor thesis "Attitude of nurses to euthanasia" focuses on an understanding of dying, euthanasia and palliative care and their attitude to euthanasia. The work is devided into two parts - a theoretical one and an empirical one. The theoretical part describes the methodology and results of quantitative research by the use of questionaire comparing two specified groups of nurses - hospic care nurses and intensive care nurses. There are summarised findings from the investigation in the conclusion which showes the differences between intensive care nurses and hospic care nurses in attitude to euthanasia and its legislative security, but not in the knowledge of palliative care.
History of the Congregation of Sister of Mercy of St. Boromeo and of its actvities in the territory of Prague

It is a historically descriptive bachelor thesis, which briefly describes the history of the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo. The paper documents the establishment of the Congregation in the 17th century in France, the arrival of the first nuns to the Czech lands and first years of their work in our country. Elaborately is described the origin and development of the Hospital of Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo and of the first motherhouse of the Congregation in Bohemia which was once an integral part of the hospital. Equally thoroughly pay thesis attention to the monastery in Praha 6 - Řepy, which was also founded by the Congregation and where used to be an orphanage, a prison for women and an institute for oligofrenics. Vividly portrayed are the activities of the Congregation during the Second World War and its destiny after the communist takeover in 1948. For completeness is also mentioned history after the 1989 and current activities of nuns in the Czech Republic. At the end of the paper is described the functioning of the nursing school run by the Congregation during the time period from 1939 to1952. For better context is this chapter preceded by a description of the history of nursing education in the Czech from the 19th to mid-20th century.

The Bachelor thesis "The Nursing Profession from the Point of View of the Medical Students" provides insight into nursing as a profession. The thesis states the main characteristics of profession. The study describes the process of professionalization and its impact on the prestige of nursing profession. This thesis also deals with the changes in the role of nurse and the image of nursing profession. The empirical part focuses on determining the attitude of medical students to the nursing profession and the subsequent comparison of the results with previous surveys and among selected groups of students.
