Software for table tennis tournament organization
Nádraský, Václav ; Ježek, Pavel (referee) ; Dokulil, Jiří (advisor)
The goal of this thesis was to create a software tool for main referees at table tennis tournaments. Preparation and management of such tournaments is both time-consuming and knowledge dependent procedure - especially player drawing into playing schemes. The result is software written in C# language at .NET 3.5 platform using WPF libraries. The application helps manage tournaments by handling players' registration, drawing into plying schemes and printing those schemes. The application source code also contains several interesting solutions. Such solution is for instance the universal system simplifying the print-out creation in WPF environment or easy to use Undo & Redo system.
A Tool for Collecting Parallel Texts from the Web
Klempová, Hana ; Ježek, Pavel (referee) ; Bojar, Ondřej (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is to develop a complex tool for creating parallel corpora for a pair of languages (Czech and English) from a given list of websites. A parallel corpus is a set of pairs of documents which are translations of each other. The thesis describes the chosen algorithm in detail and compares all implemented methods. We use document structure as well as most frequent words and their translations to find matching documents in the collection. Finally, we con rm the applicability of the whole system by aligning texts from one bigger and a few smaller websites.
Robot navigation on the chessboard
Mikulík, Andrej ; Ježek, Pavel (referee) ; Holub, Viliam (advisor)
O ffered thesis investigates localization of mobile robot. Localization is based on computer vision. Projected algorithms recognize square-patterned pad on which robot moves from recorded image. Inclination angle and position of the robot is then analyzed from image. Proposed algorithm was discussed according to tests on real robot.
Algorithm visualization using user-defined scripts
Šebesta, Jiří ; Šerý, Ondřej (referee) ; Ježek, Pavel (advisor)
The goal of this thesis was to create a program (AlgoShow) for explanatory chart of algorithms' process. Algorithms are written in the form of user-defined scripts that offers various functions for graphic presentation of algorithm's process. The thesis describes the program from both user's and programmer's points of view. The text includes short introduction into algorithm visualization, comparison of the AlgoShow program with another similar tools, description of design and implementation of the program including the method of script's interpretation. The thesis also includes characterization of essential program's features and detailed description of scripting language.
A tool for checking systems calls on Windows
Matoušek, David ; Ježek, Pavel (referee) ; Yaghob, Jakub (advisor)
This thesis identifies issues of process monitoring on Windows NT operating systems family and describes our implementation of an infrastructure for process monitoring. The system comprises of a core component and user defined external modules. The kernel component hooks system functions and redirects calls to the external modules running in the user space. The core component dispatches the calls to user supplied external modules that take care of the call processing. The core component defines simple API for the external modules that does not require deep knowledge of kernel programming. Moreover, this architecture simplifies versioning of the external modules. It makes them independent of a particular kernel build as long as the Windows kernel API they are monitoring is preserved. The thesis also compares our work with similar existing software and outlines future directions of development. Source codes and an executable compilation of the software are available on the attached CD. The software uses a part of GNU C Library.
Algorithmic Trading Platform
Šatánek, Jaromír ; Ježek, Pavel (advisor) ; Richta, Karel (referee)
In the last four years it is possible to see a significant increase in the usage of algorithmic trading. It is estimated that by the year 2010 more than 50 percent of trading on the stock markets will be performed by using algorithmic trading systems. The aim of this thesis is to create a system which can enable algorithmic trading on the stock markets. Emphasis is placed on the fast processing of data as well as the stability of the system and its modularity. Users must be able to easily modify and enhance the system according to their own individual needs (e.g. to add new algorithms or connect to another stock exchange).
Business process and work-flow management in service oriented systems
Novotný, Jaroslav ; Král, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Ježek, Pavel (referee)
ln this thesis there is described the implementation of processes on GXS Enteprise Gateway {EG). EG is based on the service oriented architecture that was created by linking webMethods environment with GXS Enteprise Server. First chapters describe business process management and tools for modeling, run and monitoring of business processes on EG platform. Next chapters describe the migration process of the customer solution to this platform. The part of this thesis is also the analysis of benefits and problems on EG platform. Data Modeling Editor with Support for Reverse Data Engineering
Kozelková, Hana ; Holubová, Irena (referee) ; Ježek, Pavel (advisor)
The thesis builds on author's bachelor thesis called An editor of ER diagrams supporting conversions to relational model and application ERtoS, which was created as a part of it. The original program supports drawing ER diagrams using the classical notation, also ISA hierarchies, n-ary relationships, relationships with attributes and multivalued attributes are supported. The main goal of this thesis is to implement reverse engineering into the ERtoS editor that would enable creating ER diagrams from existing databases. The resulting editor supports both conceptual and logical models and their two-way conversion. The logical model can be exported as an SQL script. The program uses direct database connection to perform the data reverse engineering (DRE). The set of supported databases can be extended using plugins. The thesis contains the theoretical introduction to ER modeling and DRE. A few existing DRE algorithms are compared, the selected algorithm is described in detail including suggested improvements and implementation. Finally the thesis concludes with a comparison of similar programs from both commercial and academic domain.
