Quest for truth as a fundamental moral claim

Is it possible to describe questing for truth as a fundamental moral claim? If so, in what meaning than? The goal of the submitted work is to find the answer to these questions. As the starting point of reflections serves a characteristic of a man as a person in spirit of dialogical personalism. This correspond with personal project conception of moral truth. That is put in connection with the life story of Jesus of Nazareth as a true man. With the assistence of the terms "conscience" and "liberty" is the final conception of moral truth set in a wider purview of ethical reflections and consequently confrontated with teaching of encyclical "Veritas splendor".

Title: Technique of Hurdle Clearing in 400 Meters Hurdles Authors: Jiří Jakoubek Supervisor: PhDr. Aleš Kaplan, Ph.D. Aims: The aim of this thesis is to describe technique of hurdle clearing in 400 meters hurdle race using study review and to examine this technique at particular athlete during training and racing sessions in 400 meters hurdles race. Methods: Technique was compared and examined at young athlete. Two kinograms were used for analysis, one from training and one from racing session. The comparison was made using third hurdle in second track. One hurdle clearance from each training and racing sessions with clearly visible individual phases of hurdle crossing were used. For better and well-arranged comparative analysis the same athlete was always examined. Technique of hurdle clearing is analysed thanks to using kinogram. The captured record was transmitted into appropriate format and elaborated in Kinovea program. For superior quality of presented snapshots program Corel photo-point 9.0 was used. Results: The goal of this thesis is to analyze technique of clearing the third hurdle in 400 meter race at particular athlete and to find differences and imperfections in applied technique. Analysis of a training load for 400 meter hurdles race.

Title of bachelor thesis: Analysis of a training load for 400 meter hurdles race. Elaborated: Jiri Jakoubek Supervisor: PhDr. Ales Kaplan, Ph.D. Aim of the thesis: The aim of this thesis is to elaborate content analysis of training load and to compare universal and special training indicators during two consecutive annual training cycles, specifically during the 2009 - 2010 and 2010 - 2011 annual training cycles at 400 meter hurdles race. Methodology: Data for the practical part of the thesis were obtained by using quantitative content analysis method, which means that individual special as well as universal training indicators were acquired from personal training diaries. Those indicators were then evaluated according to intensity level, rest interval and classification into periods of annual training cycle. For quantitative comparison, indicators of workload were divided into universal and special ones. Results: Very important influencing factor of performance progress at 400 meter hurdles race is increased number of stretches for most specific training indicators, especially in the endurance part. Financial analysis of the company MWV Svitavy s. r. o.

This bachelor thesis focuses on financial analysis of the company MeadWestvaco (MWV) Svitavy s. r. o. in the accounting period 2008--2012. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part describes basic methods and definitions of financial analysis that are applied in the practical part of thesis later. The practical part starts with the introduction of the company. Next specification of financial economy in Czech paper industry are shortly outlined. The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to perform financial analysis and evaluate financial health of the company MWV Svitavy s. r. o. An intercompany comparison of selected pointers (marks) of financial analysis in concern MWV in Europe is made in this thesis. Also there is comparison with average values of the paper industry in the Czech Republic. In conclusion the final ratings and recommendations for future financial management MWV Svitavy s. r. o. are stated.

Performance measurement of mutual funds

This thesis is focused mainly on performance measures of open-end mutual funds and analysis of selected funds with long track record (periods 1995-2013 or 2000-2013) available for individual investors in the Czech Republic. In the first part of the thesis, evolution of Czech collective investment business is described. Among traditional risk focused approaches, this thesis describes also less common approaches taking investors' psychology into account -- for example measurement of stress or net utility based on Loss Aversion theory. In the analytical part, the role of additional costs (e.g. entry fee or taxes) is emphasized as these additional costs are usually out of any consideration when measuring the performance. The results show that these additional costs may have significant impact on returns recorded by the investor. In the Czech asset management industry, we usually experience presentation of returns only -- without stress of risks or other factors, risk focused measurements are rarely displayed in funds' performance presentation.

Financial analysis and financial plan ALBI Česká republika

This bachelor's thesis is focused on financial analysis of the Company ALBI Česká republika a. s., which is performed between 2008 and 2012. The next aim is to outline expected future development. In the first part of this thesis the specific methodology, that will be used in the financial analysis, is described. The second part contains horizontal and vertical analysis, calculation of ratio indicators, including comparison with competitors, testing the financial health with bankruptcy and creditworthy model and finally drawing up a short-term financial plan that includes a planned profit and loss statement and a planned balance sheet.
