Helikar, Jan ; Kursch, Martin (advisor) ; Hubert, Vlastimil (referee)
The thesis deals with differences in access to ICT in primary education in the Czech Republic and in three European countries: Estonia, Finland and Ireland. Using the method of content analysis of the text in a non-quantitative way on the basis of ten set themes, it analyses and compares national strategic and curriculum documents for primary education (ISCED 1 and 2 levels). The aim is to analyse and compare the national strategies for the inclusion of ICT in primary education in the countries, its anchoring in the curriculum of each country, as well as teacher training strategies in the field of ICT. Quantitative methods are also used in the analysis and comparison as appropriate to a basic and limited extent. Local curriculum implementations (i.e. school curricula) are not dealt with. The results show significant variations in the scope and detail of the formulation of strategic objectives in the relevant documents, as well as significant variations in the conception of ICT in individual curriculum documents. Another important aspect is the nature of the conceptualisation of ICT education, oscillating in the case of the countries studied between an engineering conception, mainly focused on the mastery of practical computing tasks, and a more universal informatics conception, mainly focused on...
