Development of communication skills of children with developmental language disorder at an early and pre-school age

The bachelor thesis deals with the development of specific language impairment (SLI) of children in early and preschool age. The whole thesis is divided into two parts. Theoretical part is split into two another chapters. First chapter is focused on theoretical possibilities. It explains the concept of communication, its division into verbal and non-verbal, describes concept of ability to communicate and disordered ability. The first chapter also describes the physiological development of child in early and preschool age. In addition, neurodevelopment disorders are defined from the perspective of concept, classification, overlap, diagnosis and treatment. Second chapter of theoretical part focuses on developmental disorders of speech, language and communication. Specifically, developmental speech sound disorder, speech fluency disorder, pragmatic communication disorder and language disorder at all. An essential part of this chapter is devoted to developmental dysphasia. It deals with definition, etiology, symptomatology, classification, diagnosis, therapy and comorbidities. Motor skills in a student with developmental dysphasia at a younger school age

This diploma thesis focuses on motor skills of pupils with developmental language disorder in their middle childhood years. Theoretical part describes the characteristics typical for middle childhood pupil in areas of basic abilities and skills, learning process, emotional development, and socialization. Next chapter of the theoretical part concerns the motor skills of person and define movement skills of pupils with developmental language disorder. In last chapter the diagnosis of developmental language disorder is presented defined form several different points such as ethology, classification, diagnosis, therapy and prognosis. Empiric part of the thesis consists of two research methods, first the test of motor skills and second the survey. The test of motor skill is to provide data about movements skills of pupils with developmental language disorder. For this test was used the ability test provided by Sazka Olympijský víceboj. Developmental Disorders of Speech and Language in Preschool Children

The bachelor thesis focuses on the possibilities of communication development and speech and language therapy intervention in preschool children with specific language impairment. The theoretical part of the thesis depicts the ontogenesis of speech and language and also the issues of developmental speech and language disorders, especially specific language impairment, but also simple delayed language development, developmental dysarthria, developmental dyspraxia and articulation disorder. The empirical part of the thesis presents results of a qualitative research, case studies of three preschool children with specific language impairment and associated disorders, with various degrees of achieved communication development. The main aim of the thesis was to find out what are the possibilities of communication development in preschool children with specific language impairment. A seven-month observation of the children during speech and language therapies, regulating activities and free play, analysis of medical and special-educational records, speech- therapy diaries and interviews with the special-education teacher were used to achieve the aim and get the data. The topic of the thesis Communication disorders of people with Alzhiemer's disease is focused on the analysis of the manifestations of impaired communication ability of people with Alzheimer's disease. The bachelor thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part consists of two chapters. In the firts chapter, entitled Theoretical Background, the term communication is discussed, as well as the concept of dementia. Other subsections discuss cognitive-communication disorders and manifestiations of impaired communication ability of people with dementia. Speech and language process deficits in individual language levels are also listed here. The second chapter deals with neurodegenerative disease. It is followed by a subchapter related to Alzheimer's disease and subsequently clarifies the topic of the burden placed on family caregivers. 1 ABSTRACT The bachelor's thesis focuses on the issues of development of auditory (hearing) perception in preschool children with specific language impairment from the perspective of their parents. It is a special educational topic in the field of speech and language therapy. The theoretical part of the bachelor's thesis introduces the issues of specific language impairment, auditory perception and its development. It contains knowledge of terminology, etiology, symptomatology, diagnostics and therapy of specific language impairment. It also focuses on the course of intact development of auditory perception and the consequences of its disturbance. It describes different parts of auditory perception and the possibilities of their development. Family and social context of the diagnostic therapeutic process for people with aphasia

The subject of this bachelor's thesis, which deals with one of the sub-fields of special pedagogy - speech therapy - is the provision of speech therapy prevention in kindergartens in the district of Klatovy. The aim of the work is to examine the provision of this prevention in the Klatovy region. The paper is divided into three chapters, while the first two define the theoretical basis of the thesis. With the help of professional literature, the topics of communication, speech therapy intervention with an emphasis on speech therapy prevention, speech development, preschool age or the most frequent types of impaired communication skills occurring in preschool age are defined. The empirical part analyses the data of a qualitative research survey conducted in the form of interviews with teachers in kindergartens. The work explores the course of speech therapy prevention, the cooperation of kindergartens with professional external institutions regarding speech therapy prevention, the tools used as well as the pitfalls in providing prevention. Future Teachers Knowledge of the Issues of Specific Language Impairment

This diploma thesis is dedicated to developmental language disorder (DLD) and particularly to studying how well future teachers are informed about DLD. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical, both consisting of three chapters. The first chapter of the theoretical part defines developmental language disorder, and examines and presents the basic terminology. Further, the chapter describes the epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical symptoms (both verbal and non-verbal) and classification of DLD. The second chapter examines the individual components related to diagnosing DLD. The third chapter describes the therapy, prognosis and prevention of DLD, as well as the specifics related to educating persons with DLD. The applied part of the thesis presents the results of a research survey conducted as a part of the thesis. The main objective of the survey was to determine how well the (under-)graduate students majoring in teaching in kindergartens and primary schools are informed about DLD in the course of their studies. Psychosocial consequences of balbuties at young adult age

The topic of the thesis is the psychosocial consequences of stuttering at young adult age. Within the theoretical part, the first chapter defines stuttering, specifically its definition, stages (borderline, incipient, fixed and chronic stuttering), symptomatology and etiology. The second chapter is devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of stuttering, divided into subchapters on diagnosis and therapy. The third chapter, dealing with stuttering in young adults, includes a subchapter on the specifics of young adult age and the life with stuttering in the described age. The theoretical part is followed by an empirical part. The aim of the research investigation was to find out what psychosocial consequences young adult stutterers face and how these can be minimised. To achieve this aim, a qualitative research method was chosen. All the necessary data were collected through semi-structured interviews, which were conducted in two phases - the first interviews were conducted with the stutterers themselves, and after coding the collected data, interviews were conducted with experts who provided their view on the information from the stutterers. The results of the research investigation were used to answer the set research questions and also to define the grounded theory.
Communication disability of children living in a bilingual environment

in English This bachelor's thesis focuses on the issue of impaired communication skills in children living in a bilingual environment. The bachelor's thesis uses theoretical knowledge about bilingualism, impaired communication skills and proper development, and at the same time it is supplemented by a practical part, which is devoted to case studies of children with impaired communication skills coming from a bilingual environment at different ages. At the beginning, the main goal of the work was determined, from which the sub-goals of the work and research questions were derived. The research questions are answered at the end of the work. There are four case studies in the bachelor's thesis, which prove that the family setting and their motivation to improve the child's communication skills and at the same time their relationship to the Czech language have an effect on impaired communication skills. The bachelor's thesis shows the positive impact of daily and regular speech therapy intervention, as well as the negative impact of a lax approach. At the same time, it turned out that children mostly choose their second language, not Czech, for their everyday needs and play.
