Graphical Editor of Simulation Models
Hořák, Jan ; Hrubý, Martin (referee) ; Peringer, Petr (advisor)
This paper contains brief introduction into modeling and simulation using Discrete Event Specified System (DEVS) formalism. It defines basic models (atomic and coupled DEVS) and shows how they are simulated. Examples of derived DEVS formalism like parallel DEVS or DESS are also presented. It is described how to create DEVS models using graphic modeling software and advantages and disadvantages of this approach. A short summary of known programs are also covered. Storing models in the XML language, validation of XML document and transformation capabilities by XSLT are discussed. The main section is dedicated to the design of a graphic editor for simulation models inspired by design patterns including classes for canvas, model representation, export module interface and main application. The XML document used for storing DEVS models and simple DEVS simulator are also described. Implementation section presents used programming libraries, reasons why they have been used and their advantages and disadvantages. Paper ends with an example of a simple DEVS model created by implemented graphic editor for simulation DEVS models.
Semi-Automatic Image Segmentation
Horák, Jan ; Beran, Vítězslav (referee) ; Španěl, Michal (advisor)
This work describes design and implementation of a tool for creating photomontages. The tool is based on methods of semi-automatic image segmentation. Work outlines problems of segmentation of image data and benefits of interaction with the user. It analyzes different approaches to interactive image segmentation, explains their principles and shows their positive and negative aspects. It also presents advantages and disadvantages of currently used photo-editing applications. Proposes application for creating photomontages which consists of two steps: Extraction of an object from picture and insertion of it into another picture. The first step uses the method of semi-automatic segmentation GrabCut based on the graph theory. The work also includes comparison between application and other applications in which it is possible to create a photomontage, and application tests done by users.
Control of Stepper Motors in Closed Loop System
Hořák, Jan ; Vochyán, Josef (referee) ; Dřínovský, Jiří (advisor)
The theme of this thesis is the design and optimization of algorithms for controlling stepper motors with feedback by measuring the BEMF. The emphasis was on self-management stepper motor current depending on the load. To verify the algorithm was designed and built sample devices with integrated circuit NCV70514 from ON Semiconductor. The result is a sample device, the control program and algorithm to control a stepper motor.

Optimization of firm´s tax liability
Horák, Jan ; Kislingerová, Eva (advisor) ; Synek, Miloslav (referee)
The main objective of this Master's thesis is to analyze the regulation of tax liability of legal person and on the basis of the analysis to reveal opportunities for optimization of the tax liability by means of practical examples of the application of tax optimization. To achieve this objective, the work is divided into five main chapters. The purpose of the first four chapters is to provide a sufficient theoretical base connected with tax optimization. This section begins with the interpretation of general problems of the theory of corporate taxes, which gradually passes into the interpretation of more specific areas. In the following part of the work the selected methods of tax optimization are used on illustrative numerical examples, the conditions for the application of optimization methods are determined and the situation before using the optimization and after the use is compared. The conclusion summarizes the possible ways of reducing the tax burden of the firm and the possibility of their practical use.
The analysis of Executive Search company in the context of Czech labor market
Horák, Jan ; Šikýř, Martin (advisor) ; Němec, Otakar (referee)
The theoretical part of this thesis describes internal and external ways that can be of use while appointing employees. The thesis is focused on using direct systematic search (Executive Search) in the environment of consulting company CSP Partners Ltd. and its aim is to show the specific features of this method usually used to appoint specialists or managers. Commercial and executive processes of the company are depicted within the text. Using analytical tools this thesis examines the whole HR consulting industry in the context of Czech labor market. Historical development and recent trends are included, ethical dimension as well as motivation of candidates approached using this method are described as well. Many practical notes are involved and the final part describes one of CSP Partners' Ltd. projects in detail.
Backup of servers
Horák, Jan ; Pavlíček, Luboš (advisor) ; Vadinský, Ondřej (referee)
The Bachelor work deals with tools for backing up servers, these software tools are Bacula, Amanda, BackupPC and Windows Server Backup. In introduction author overview concepts of backup and outlines possible backup strategy. The main part of work offers scenarios for which each backup instrument is appropriate. All the tools are described in details in terms of functionality and in terms of working with them during backup and restore files or folders. At the end of work is each tool compare with others in terms of the criteria to choose the best selected program for backup server.
Optimization of the cost of medicines and medical supplies in inpatient health care facilities through the implementation of information technology
Panchártková, Denisa ; Vinš, Marek (advisor) ; Horák, Jan (referee)
The theoretical part of this thesis focuses on logistics, its history, logistics chain, and its active and passive elements. In particular, it deals with logistics technology. The aim of the practical part is to describe possible ways of saving the cost of medicines and medicine supplies in inpatient hospitals within the ENT department (in the General faculty hospital in Prague) providing the use of information technology, specialized software applications and changes in healthcare logistics processes. The main aim is to verify the stated hypothesis that the implementation of logistic processes to hospitals can save up to 5 % cost of medicines and medicine supplies. The results confirm the working hypothesis. The second assumption, that the period of return on investments to software will be a maximum of 3 calendar years, was also confirmed by the research. Possible use of this work is for the hospital managers in deciding on the implementation of hospital information technology from Stapro Ltd.
