Janikov, Martin ; Kaplan, Aleš (advisor) ; Hojka, Vladimír (referee)
Title: Speed training in strength and conditioning preparation of youth basketball players Aims: The main purpose of this thesis is to evaluate the effectivity of the training program designed to focus on development of speed abilities in category under fourteen years basketball players. Secondary aims are determination of relationship between practice attendances, number of games played, changes of body height, body weight and body composition of the players on their acceleration, maximal speed and agility tests performance. Methods: For this thesis was used experimental method, which concentrated on observation of speed development in two groups of players, each with different conditions defined by training content. We used measuring, testing and interviewing for data gathering purposes. To assess the relationship between all parameters and their explanation we apply analytic and comparative methods. For evaluation of relationships was used Pearson's correlation and p-value for determination of statistical significance. Results: The main hypothesis, presuming relationship between anticipation in our training program and improvement of speed abilities, wasn't confirmed by our calculations. The results were calculated for following tests: 20 m sprint (r = -0.12, p = 0.69, n = 14), flying 15 m run...

Hák, Tomáš ; Kokštejn, Jakub (advisor) ; Hojka, Vladimír (referee)
Title: Short-term intervention in the development of speed in football Objectives: The work objective is to assess efficiency of speed intervention at categories of Under-13 and Under-14 of the football club FK Pardubice. Methods: The group observed contained players aged 13 and 14. Total number of players was 23 (n= 23, 13,2 ±0,3 year). In order to verify the efficiency of the interventional program, which took 6 weeks, a 20 m shuttle run, a change-direction run with and without ball were used. The data were gathered with 2010 programme and processed according to Statistica statistical programme. Results: After 6 weeks of a motion intervention the experimental group did not show any significant progress. The group not involved in the motion programme did not make any progress. In rare cases, even a slight deterioration occurred in both groups. Based on results stated below we declare that the program chosen was not efficient for speed development at the categories of U13 and U14 of the club of FK Pardubice. An analysis of a basketball player's movement during the game
Shaya, Jimmy ; Hojka, Vladimír (advisor) ; Velenský, Michael (referee)
6 Abstract Title: An analysis of a basketball player's movement during the game Objectives: The aim of this work is to demonstrate that observation groups in the basketball game use a different number of movements and should therefore train separately. Methods: The basis of this empirical study is a quantitative research that uses the method of analysis and comparison. To obtain the data, I have analysed the most frequent movements carried out by players in the game. We have collected the number of movements per each second for each group. Observed group are: point guard, shooting guard and centers. Movements were described theoretically, biomechanically, technically, or by using rules. After that I have used the comparison to determine the differences, which were implemented into charts and qualified in detail. Results: A graphical representation of the number of movements confirmed the goal of our work. The biggest differences were found in specific movements, such as screens, acceleration, dribbling and crossover dribble. It turned out that the primary movements, such as standing or walking occupy over 50% of the match for each group. Neither group achieved the same result in any category. It is therefore necessary to take into account these facts and plan training preparation in order to reflects the...
Performance development in decathlon
Bernášek, Karel ; Vindušková, Jitka (advisor) ; Hojka, Vladimír (referee)
Title: Individual evolutions of performance in decathlon Objectives: The main aim of the thesis is to evaluate the dynamic and the evolution of performance six selected decathletes. We assessed few young decathletes, which competed in nonathlon because of their age, and the rest of the decathletes in decathlon during their athletic careers. Methods: This thesis occupies with qualitative research. Based on the analysis of selected documents we used the method of prediction and comparison. The main aim was to study athletic results of all selected decathletes. All of the performances were scored by IAAF scoring tables for combined events. We chose a few decathletes of different ages, the age range of our selected decathletes varies from 18 to 27 years old. Results: We found out that the biggest increase performance of decathlon results were when all our selected decathletes were beginning of their athletic careers. The only exception is Marek Lukáš, he did not achieved an increase until later. When they were adults, their increase slowed down. We found out that the contemporary decathletes have similar growth rate performance. Keywords: decathlon, track and field, efficiency, analysis
Agility
Řehák, Tomáš ; Hojka, Vladimír (advisor) ; Kaplan, Aleš (referee)
Title: Agility Objectives: Create an overview of current understanding of agility. Get survey of used tests and create tray exercises Methods: When creating our study, we used analysis of literary sources external character, accompanied by it's own critical opinions. We drew primarily on the expertise impact journals. Results: Agility is defined as the ability to quickly change the direction of movement in response to a highly specific stimulus. It is closely associated primarily with speed, strength and finesse. Agility is a very important component of sports performance in sports games, where the bulk of the changes taking place in the movement direction. When testing the agility we use both CODS tests, and tests with response to stimulus. In the condition training is needed to fully devote agility and regarded it as a part of motor skills. Keywords: agility, change of direction speed, motor skills, testing
EMG analysis of lower limb muscles in dependence on growing muscle fatique
Raba, Lukáš ; Hojka, Vladimír (advisor) ; Pánek, David (referee)
Title: EMG analysis of lower limb muscles in dependence on growing muscle fatigue Objectives: The main objective of this thesis is monitor and evaluate changes in EMG parameters of muscles of low extremities depending on the level of local muscle fatigue (during exercise on legpress). Methods: Study included 8 subjects who completed the exercise on weight lifting machine legpress, while we were measuring 6 muscles on lower extremities by using surface EMG. The measuremets was at level 75 % of maximum weight, when probands doing exercises until he had complete muscle fatigue. Data from electromyography was processed and through them we could watched the spectral distribution of the EMG signal and changes of EMG amplitude. Key words: amplitude analysis, spectral analysis, surface polyelectromyography, muscle fatigue
The Comparison of pressure changes in the running shoes of different drop
Procházka, Martin ; Kaplan, Aleš (advisor) ; Hojka, Vladimír (referee)
Title: The Comparison of pressure changes in the running shoes of different drop Student: Martin Procházka Supervisor: PhDr. Aleš Kaplan, Ph.D. Consulting: Mgr. Aleš Tvrzník Thesis'objectives: The main objective of this thesis was to monitor changes in pressures acting on the foot in stand phase with different variables. There were some external conditions that were changed, the running speed (10, 12, 14 and 16 km/h), running technique (heelstrike and forefoot strike) and the main theme of the work, running shoes of different drop (10, 5, 0 mm). Current pressures on the foot were obtained through special inserts Pedar - X and further processed into the software of the German brand Novel. Secondary objective was to intra- and inter-compare probands with greater emphasis on intra-individual component because of the diversity of technique of each proband. One of the aims of this work was the possibility of subsequent feedback and training recommendations for these runners based on the obtained values. Thesis methodology: Probands were tested on a treadmill HP KOSMOS specialized laboratory CASRI. In each section of the sample was determined by measuring the 100 steps to the right and 100 steps to the left foot. It means approximately 90 seconds of running in one speed and technique. The prints were...

Results: After analysis of all 48 measured muscles, increased of EMG amplitude occured in 45 of them. There was 67 % statistically significant, another 6 % was really close to significant level and remaining 23 % was insignificant. We have 144 time series in analysis of quartile milestones (Q25, Q50 and Q75). From this number decrease of frequency occured 135 times. There was 75 % statistically significant. Then we found out that biggest decreased was in median and mainly in Q75, it was in 82 %. Conclusions: Study proved that during...
