Evaluation methods of systems for unsegmented speech retrieval.
Galuščáková, Petra ; Pecina, Pavel (advisor) ; Hoffmannová, Petra (referee)
Methods that are currently used for evaluation of speech retrieval are described in this work. Techniques that are used for speech retrieval are explained, as well as methods used for evaluation of this retrieval. Special attention is paid to processing of unsegmented records. The main aim of the work is to verify whether the methods currently used for evaluation of speech retrieval are appropriate to use and modify these methods if needed. Empirical methods based on the user`s perception of speech retrieval is used for this verification. Modified metrics are compared with the original ones.
Accessing and Management of Scanned Documents
Novák, Matyáš ; Žemlička, Michal (advisor) ; Hoffmannová, Petra (referee)
In this thesis we solve the problem of the digitization mainly historical documents. The goal of the thesis is to design a procedure for the digitization (scanning) and indexing these documents, with a focus on the internal structure of documents and easy searching in those documents. For a solution to the problem, it was necessary to propose appropriate structures and instruments for storing and cataloguing the digitized documents, and perform analysis, design and implementation of software required for the digitization process and for the publication of these documents. The proposed procedures and software were validated in the pilot project. During this (still running) project about three terabytes of image data has been obtained and (partially) indexed. The thesis includes the analysis of the experiences gained from this pilot project. Documents that has been digitalized during this pilot project are available at http://www.depositum.cz.
Deep analysis in IQA: evaluation on real users dialogues.
Ratkovic, Zorana ; Kuboň, Vladislav (advisor) ; Hoffmannová, Petra (referee)
Interactive Question Answering (IQA) is a natural and cohesive way for a user to obtain information by interactive with a system using natural language. With the advancement in Natural Language Processing, research in the eld of IQA has started to focus on the role of semantics and the discourse structure in these systems. The need for a deeper analysis, which examines the syntax and semantics of the questions and the answers is evident. Using this deeper analysis allows us to model the context of the interaction. I will look at a current closeddomain IQA system which is based on Linear Regression modeling. This system uses super cial and non-semantically motivated features. I propose adding deep analysis and semantic features in order to improve the system and show the need for such analysis. Particular attention will be placed on the so-called follow-up questions (questions that the user poses after having received some answer from the system) and the role of context. I propose that adding the linguistically heavy features will prove bene cial, thereby showing the need for such analysis in IQA systems.
Software solution for digital archives
Nápravník, David ; Macková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Hoffmannová, Petra (referee)
This bachelor's thesis is on the modernisation of library systems. It focuses on tech- nologies such as single-page application, which streamlines network communication and reduces server usage. The goal was to describe and use modern technologies into a working application, that provides the user with a modern, streamlined and fast input environment metadata with the addition of the system for managing web content. A clear API has been created on the server to provide all the data not only for the main application, but for the related modules or other projects as well. The work also describes the technologies that make these streamlinings possible. 1

Position of nurse in the Czech Republic The theme of my work is position of nurse in the czech society. I would like to get objectives informations to descripe present reputation of nurses. This theme can improve their position and help to incoming changes in the future. In the theory I write about reputation of jobs, about professional image of nurse and about history of this image. I write about history of nursing, and this from aspect position of nurse, it mean the status of doctor and nurse. In this time it constructs positive all-society conditions for independence activity of nurse, therefore it needs old terms between doctors and nurses to transform. Knowledges and career - there are very important conditions to increase job's prestige. The informations, which I am using in the empiric part, I was obtaining from two answer sheets. These answer sheets were faceless. The first was addressed to nurses and the second to doctors. It's good to observe, that I would like to change anything, I have to start by myself. And we have to talk aloud.
