Author: Kateřina Pakandlová Title: Case study of physiotherapy treatment in a patient after an ischemic stroke with left spastic hemiparesis. Objectives: The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to find out theoretical information about stroke and to process a case study about physiotherapeutic care in a patient after an ischemic stroke. Methods: The thesis is divided into two parts, including a theoretical part and a special part. The theoretical part is specialized in obtaining and processing information about stroke - its clinical symptoms, risk factors, diagnosis, medical treatment, and physiotherapeutic care. The special part involves a case study of physiotherapeutic care in the chosen patient who suffered an ischemic stroke. It consists of an initial and a final examination, therapeutic plan, therapy sessions, and evaluation of the effect of therapy. The case study comes from my practical experience at the Vršovická Zdravotní a.s. during January and February 2022. Results: The patient's strength and range of motion in the left limbs had increased, and self- support had improved. The patient returned home. Author: Aneta Hodáňová Title: Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient after Unicondylar Endoprosthesis Implantation of the Right Knee Joint. Objectives: The objective of this bachelor thesis is to perform a case study of a physiotherapeutic care of the patient after implantation of unicondylar endoprosthesis of the right knee joint, to guide and record individual therapies and to evaluate their impacts. Methods: The bachelor thesis encompasses of general (theoretical) and special (practical) parts. The general part outlines theoretical information about anatomy of the knee joint, unicondylar replacement and degeneration disease gonarthrosis that preceded the implantation of joint replacement. The special part describes the performed case study of the patient including the initial examination, the subsequent individual therapies and the exit examination. The important part of the practical study is the assessment of the effects of the whole therapy amid the hospitalization of the patient in the medical center Vršovická zdravotní a.s. Results: The results generally showed that the progress of all applied therapies lagged in a comparison with other patients with the same type of implantation. The possible explanation of such results might be the set of various factors such as patient's age,...

Chronic vulvovaginal discomfort and quality of vaginal environment
Kestřánek, Jan ; Špaček, Jiří (advisor) ; Unzeitig, Vít (referee) ; Hořejší, Jan (referee)
"Chronic vulvovaginal discomfort and quality of vaginal enviroment" Vulvovaginal discomfort (VVD) is not a life-threatening disease, however, its impact on quality of life is enormous. The causes of the origins of the chronic form are not provably clarified. OBJECTIVES OF THE THESIS: The first aim of this thesis has been to make an attempt to reveal the etiology of chronic vulvovaginal discomfort (CVD), to characterize a group of patients with CVD and refer it to the quality of vaginal environment. The second aim has been an evaluation of a questionnaire, which had been focused on probable causal factors of CVD. The third part is experimental, focused on the issue of quorum sensing molecule (QSM) and manosa-binding lectin (MBL) polymofrisms. METHODS: The data for all three parts of the study were gained at the outpatient's department for CVD by examinig and following CVD patients. A questionnaire was used when investigating the probable CVD factors. RESULTS: The study has proved that we come across the idiopatic form of CVD in most cases. According to the results, the issue concerns mainly women at productive age, in most cases healthy, without an evident trigger moment. The study has also shown that the most noticeable finding in CVD patients is an absence of lactobacillus proved when performing a...
Metabolic aspects of the hormone replacement therapy in menopause
Fait, Tomáš ; Cibula, David (advisor) ; Češka, Richard (referee) ; Hořejší, Jan (referee)
The aim of project was to evaluate which of aplication forms of estrogen replacement therapy (in daily doses 2 mg estradiol orally or 0,05 mg estradiol transderma) is better for postmenopausal women from the view of cardiovascular risk. Oral aplication was conected with favourable elevation of HDL-cholesterol level and lowering of prothrombin activator inhibitor (PAI-1). On the other side there were elevation of tigylcerides and high selective C-reactive protein (hs CRP) and lowering of tissue factor pathway inhibitor (TFPI). Transdermal therapy was conjoined with elevation of HDL-cholesterol. Other markers were not influenced by this aplication form. Transdermal estrogen replacement therapy is more favourable than oral estrogen replacement therapy from the view of cardiovascular risks. The choice of hormone replacement therapy must be strongly individual. The knowledge of level lipids and other factors of cardivascular risk, could be helpfull during choice of aplication form, dose and contents of hormone replacement therapy.
Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient with total hip replacement
Jonáš, Michal ; Vomáčková, Helena (advisor) ; Hořejší, Jan (referee)
Title: Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient with total hip replacement. Objectives: The aim of this thesis was to summarize theoretical knowledge about the hip joint and total hip arthroplasty and the subsequent elaboration of a practical case study of physiotherapeutic care in a patient with this diagnosis. Methods: This thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part describes the hip joint's anatomical structure, osteoarthritis, coxarthrosis, and total hip arthroplasty. The practical part of the work contains a detailed case study of physiotherapeutic care for a patient after implantation of total hip arthroplasty. The case study includes anamnesis, entry kinesiological analysis, short-term and long-term therapeutic plan, therapy design, the record of individual therapeutic units, outcome kinesiological analysis, and evaluation of the effect of therapy. Results: Goals set by the short-term therapeutic plan have been met within the performed therapeutical units. In particular, the patient achieved a reduction in pain in the area of the operated joint, an increase in the range of motion, an increase in the muscular strength of weakened muscles, and an adjustment of the walking stereotype. Keywords: case study, total hip replacement, coxarthrosis, physiotherapy

The Case Study of a Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient with Balance Disorder and Cognitive Impairment
Sýkorová, Jitka ; Maršáková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Hořejší, Jan (referee)
The bachelor thesis explores balance and cognitive disorders in the context of physiotherapy. Balance disorders and cognitive impairment are important risk factors for falls. The aim of the thesis is to provide fundamental information based on available evidence in literature and briefly outline the importance of physiotherapy in patients with balance and cognitive impairment. In the practical part of the thesis is presented a detailed case study of a physiotherapeutic treatment of a patient with balance disorder and cognitive impairment due to encephalopathy. The treatment focused on application of techniques which are beneficial for improvement of the balance as well as cognitive functions. At the end of the therapeutic intervention patient have improved stand and gait balance as well as coordination of motion and cognitive performance and also there was a significant reduction of fatigue and fall risk. We used standardized assessments methods to measure the effect of the treatment: The Tinetti Balance and Gait Test, Berg Balance Scale, Montreal Cognitive Assessment and Barthel Index for Activities of Daily Living.
