Nárovec, Stanislav ; Heller, Jan (advisor) ; Novotná, Viléma (referee)
Title: Energy demands in the modern dance competition Objective: The aim of this thesis is to assess energy expenditure in the competitive environment in each modern dances and its dependence on the structure of the competitive round in competition. Method: Empirical Association Research in 8 dancers of medium performance level. Work metabolism and energy expenditure were calculated from VO2 - heart rate relationship during exercise. Results: The results of the measurements confirm the hypothesis that the competition rounds with the shorter rest interval increase energy expenditure. But the second part of the hypothesis does not confirm that the dance with faster pace is of higher energy expenditure than dance with a slower pace. Keywords: Dance sport, modern dances, energy expenditure, calculation of work metabolism, heart rate

El Ali, Zaher Ali ; Mahrová, Andrea (advisor) ; Heller, Jan (referee)
Title Exercise programmes for individuals with ESRD treated with dialysis and their effect for quality of life. Objective: To evaluate an effect of regular 6 months intradialytic exercise programmes at functional state and quality of life in patients with ESRD. Methods: 15 patients with ESRD on haemodialysis participated in exercise programme during haemodialysis. Senior Fitness Test (SFT), dynamometry of hands and questionnaire tool SF-36 were used to evaluate physical function and quality of life of the research group before and after 6 month exercise period. Results: Results of output motoric tests and questionnaire tool after exercise intervention were conform with majority of cases or better than the results of input tests. Improvement was recorded for patients, that did exercises regularly. Only in one test we observed statisticaly significant change- in case of women, increased their test performance in 2-minute step test (p<0,04). In case of men there were no statistical significant difference. Statisticaly significance of changes between input and output tests, were evaluated by small number of patients in group. In majority of the results before and after exercise intervention were no statistical significant difference. Summary: Regular exercise programmes realized during hemodialysis can...

Title of thesis: Physiological Characteristics of Upper Body Speed-Power Skills in Cross Country Skiing. Aim of the project: Aim of my study was to prepare, develop and evaluate obtained information of anaerobic capacities diagnostic in cross country skiing in different drill periods of the year, and to extract conclusions for training practice of elite trainers and of other coaches. Method: Measurements passed at the biomedical laboratory of Faculty of Physical Education and Sport in the spring, where monitored cross-country skiers passed the maximal test on a running treadmill and Wingate test on a specialized upper-body ergometer. Results will be recorded and subsequently evaluated according to defined methodology. Next measurement was realized on roller skis in terrain. There were evaluated double poling ski techniques. These fitness tests occurred in spring and in autumn. Results: The study documented meaning relevance of physiological diagnostic for cross- country skiers at laboratory and terrain. Physiological capacity of double polling in roller skiing and double polling imitation on ergometer, assessed distance and anaerobic capacity overcome, was statistically significant. The higher cross-country skier had effort, the more he achieved to have distance moved. The relation expressed by the...

The quality of nutrition has essential influence on health, mental comfort and sport performance. Social diseases (high blood preassure, ischemic heart desease, diabetes and cancer) are mostly the result of poor knowledge of nutrition rules. Nutrition of hobby and professional sportsmen has fundamental influence on quality and indurance of sport performance. Many sportsmen underestimate the importance of nutrition and therefore loose the opportunity to be well prepared for trainings and to reach ideal performance in competitions. Students of Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, Charles University, in Prague, as a future coaches and people working in sport and physical education area should be well educatd in the nutrition area and be able to use their knowledges and pass them on their trainees. The aim of this thesis was to find out what the nutrition knowledges and food preferences of university student are. Nutrition prerences of university students were not ideal. Only 68% consumed low-fat food. 48% of surveyed ate low-fibre food. Intake of cereal crops and vegetables were 8% under standard. Consumption of dairy products and meat was higher. Fat and plain sugar intake was over 6% higher. Nutrition knowledges of examined ensemble were weak. Only 35% knew proportional representation of...
