Water quality and the assessment of anthropogenic pollution in the sediments of the Elber River oxbow lakes
Beranová, Lucie ; Chalupová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Havlíková, Petra (referee)
In this thesis, water quality and the assessment of anthropogenic pollution in the sediments of the middle course of the Elbe River oxbow lakes Kozelská and Vrť were studied. It is widely accepted that the oxbow lakes are extremely significant ecosystems, However, a large amount of contaminated material may deposit in these lakes. The pollution probably comes from industrial sources of contamination from the second half of the 20th century. In addition, the oxbow lakes show the development of the riverbed, and contribute to the stability of the river ecosystem. The research of Lake Kozelská was chosen especially to its proximity to the chemical factory Spolana in Neratovice, which used to be the biggest source of pollution of the Elbe River. The research included bathymetric measurements, regular observations of hydrological regime, monthly analysis of chemical and physical parameters of water in the period from December 2016 to November 2017, and marginally microscopic analyses of phytoplankton and zooplankton species too. The next part of this research included grain analysis and determination of metal and arsenic concentrations in the sediment fraction of 20µm using Aqua Regia leaching and total decomposition as well. Concerning water quality assessment, these lakes were characterized by higher...
Concentration of organic carbon in mountain and submountain watercourses
Špringerová, Pavla ; Matoušková, Milada (advisor) ; Havlíková, Petra (referee)
Bachelor thesis in its theoretical part is focused on the literature study of changes in concentrations of organic carbon in surface waters. The important part is finding the causes and consequences of these changes that could have a big impact on the entire global ecosystems. Uniform mechanisms controlling the process of increasing the concentration of organic carbon is not clearly defined yet, and therefore in the prediction of future consequences there exist disagreements. The practical part is devoted to research in experimental basins of the Department of Physical Geography and Geoecology (KFGG) of Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague in the Otava river basin (central part of Šumava and upper basin of Blanice). The research was based on field survey of the area, water sampling and measurements of basic physical-chemical parameters. Samples of water, taken in several campaigns, were then analyzed in laboratory for determination of organic carbon in each sampling profiles. Simultaneously the preparation and processing of other data of KFGG from experimental basins took a place, focusing especially on rainfall-runoff process. This data has been linked to the measured values of organic carbon. Research results show a strong dependence of organic carbon concentration on precipitations...
Manifestation of flood in June 2013, Upper Lužnice River
Jaček, Matouš ; Šobr, Miroslav (advisor) ; Havlíková, Petra (referee)
This thesis is about progression of chosen fluvial lakes in the upper basin of the river Lužnice. Observed changes were mainly caused by flood in spring 2013. This area is located by national border with Austria. This part of the river is very preserve and almost without human modifications. The Lužnice river is floating throw floodplain creating meanders and also many fluvial lakes. This area is very useful for research in flooding and changes they cause. First part of this thesis is focused on work with literature about fluvial lakes, their changes and characteristic, about floods and their effect on landscape and about the river Lužnice itself. The second part is about measuring and evaluating changes on four fluvial lakes. These lakes were mapped and measured and those measuring were compared to the measuring made before flood in June 2013.
Proposal for Communication Mix of Selected Company
Havlíková, Petra ; Navrátilová,, Ludmila (referee) ; Milichovský, František (advisor)
The goal of the thesis is, based on analysis of the current state of the communication mix of selected company, to propose specific measures to improve it. The Thesis is divided into three parts, namely theoretical, analytical and propositional. In the theoretical part are defined theoretical background, which serves as the basis for the development of analytical and propositional part. In the practical part is introduced the selected company and are performed the analysis of current state of the communication mix. Analysis results are used in the propositional part of the Thesis, which describes the measures to improve the current communication mix of the company.
Development of Business Activities of Company E-lékárna Brno
Havlíková, Petra ; Kopeček, Jindřich (referee) ; Šimberová, Iveta (advisor)
The diploma thesis focuses on development of business activities of company E-lékárna Brno. The thesis summarizes the analysis of external and internal environment alongside with the main factors and provides a SWOT analysis. The results are proposals and recommendations which can significantly be beneficial to the company to improve and contribute to long term development through sales increase, raising of public awareness of the company as well reduce the business risk.
Development of fluvial lakes in the Lužnice River floodplain
Hastíková, Petra ; Šobr, Miroslav (advisor) ; Havlíková, Petra (referee)
The object of the thesis is to evaluate the development of several chosen fluvial lakes in the basin of the river Lužnice, mainly in the section between the border with Austria and Suchdol nad Lužnicí. The river Lužnice in this particular section represents low intensity of modification. Many fluvial lakes are situated there and the river is meandering remarkably in the area. The first part of the thesis deals with the characteristics of the natural conditions in the basin of Lužnice and the defined floodplain and the problematics of lakes and their determination. The main part of the thesis focuses on the evaluation of the flow development and fluvial lakes of the Lužnice floodplain based on the data of a aerosnapshoting. Because of the gradual decease of the meanders and straightening of the flows, it is possible to claim that the river has been considerably shortened with the passing time. In the thesis, 34 chosen fluvial lakes, that were measured morphometrically and batymetrically, were studied in detail.
Comparing Study of Fluvial Lakes in Middle Part of Elbe River and Upper Parts of Lužnice and Svratka River
Havlíková, Petra ; Janský, Bohumír (advisor) ; Pithart, David (referee) ; Pokorný, Jan (referee)
COMPARATIVE STUDY OF FLUVIAL LAKES IN FLOODPLAINS OF THE ELBE, LUŽNICE AND SVRATKA RIVERS Petra Havlíková ABSTRACT The aim of the thesis was to specify key differences in chemistry and biota (zooplankton communities) among fluvial lakes in three regions of Czech Republic: "střední Polabí" (central part of the Elbe River on the territory of Bohemia), "Horní Lužnice" (the upper part of the Lužnice River on the territory of Bohemia), and the Svratka River near Milovy (upper part of the Svratka River). The 10 studied lakes of the three regions differ in size, geology, shading, the influence of the river, and the level of anthropogenic impact. The following hypotheses were tested: 1) The chemical composition of the water in fluvial lakes is significantly different in different areas (floodplains). In the central Elbe River floodplain, there are the highest values of conductivity and concentrations of organic matter and nutrients. Fluvial lakes of the Svratka River floodplain near Milovy show the lowest level of these parameters, and fluvial lakes of the upper Lužnice River occur between the two previous regions. 2) The chemistry of fluvial lakes that have contact with the river through surface connection is significantly influenced by the river, and differs from the chemistry in fluvial lakes without any direct...
