Míčka, Roman ; Barša, Pavel (advisor) ; Balík, Stanislav (referee) ; Hanuš, Jiří (referee)
This dissertation Michael Novak and Patrick Buchanan as Major Representatives of Contemporary American Political Catholicism compares the political thought of two faces of contemporary American political Catholicism represented by the neoconservative Michael Novak and the paleoconservative Patrick J. Buchanan. The first part deals with the context of contemporary political Catholicism and its historical background. The comparison thematizes five problem fields: the issue of democracy and American political system, economic problems, question of foreign policy, the issue of religion and Catholicism and, finally, the conflict over the basis of conservatism. To accomplish the given objective, I analyse the work of both authors, compare their respective ideological positions and set them in the context of other major authors in the given areas and in the context of established political theories. The comparison shows that they both emphasize the significance of the religious and moral aspect of democracy, especially in the American context, however, they do not agree on the universal reach of democratic ideals. In the field of economics, they stand for different views: Novak is an economic neoliberal, while Buchanan a radical economic nationalist. Similarly in relation to foreign policy, Novak...

I also present detailed photographic artwork drafts which represent uniformity. What follows in this paper is the implementation of these concepts as well as my own graphic examples of school uniforms. These drafts were given to an experienced artist who brought them to life through interpretive painting. Keywords: uniform, school, dress code, wear, art education
Bob Dylan in the Context of American Protest Song
Procházková, Mariana ; Calda, Miloš (advisor) ; Hanuš, Jiří (referee)
The tradition of protest songs in the United States is a continuum, which began in colonial times with the British Broadside Ballads, was nurtured in the 19th century through the Negro spirituals, and throughout the 20th century by performers such as Joe Hill, Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, and Bob Dylan. Out of necessity, blacks developed strategies of veiled protests to a fine art during the 19th century. The perennial cause of the black protest was the status forced on them by white supremacists. The spirituals encouraged them to persevere in their efforts to free themselves from the shackles of slavery. Many of the spirituals were modified in the 1950s to accommodate the needs of the Civil Rights Movement. This appropriation of the Southern rural folk music tradition was the genesis of a phenomenon which has become known as the American folk music revival. The foremost figure of the movement was Woody Guthrie, the author of "This land is Your Land." Guthrie is cited as major influence on his disciple Bob Dylan, who was pronounced the folk messiah of the folk circles. This paper seeks to determine whether Dylan was, in contrast to his assertions, a topical songwriter writing about particular events or whether he was in fact an apolitical artist, whose personal insight and feelings simply happened to fit the...

Hanuš, Jiří ; Raab, Jan (advisor) ; Bejček, Eduard (referee)
In this thesis, we present one view on economic modelling - Agent based modelling and Agent based computational economics, which is computation- ally intensive method that simulates interactions between entities in econ- omy instead of focusing on stable equilibria. We will provide introduction into Complex systems theory, which explains many phenomena we can see in economies and explain why these phenomena make it hard for economists to design models explaining behavior of people in real world. We will show one possible model of face-to-face interactions between consumers and firms and its implementation, where we can see whether it can sustain for a period of time in dynamic but stable state. 1
