This bachelor thesis The Influence of the subject of Health Education on the knowledge and skills of students in the ninth grade in the theoretical section deals primarily with defining the concepts of health and health determinants , which are divided by the influence of lifestyle , environment , genes and health care . In other chapters it deals with the characteristics of child development of older school age. It focuses on the biological, psychological, social changes and emotional development. The next chapter deals with health education, its definition, methods and history. It focuses on the importance of health education in human life and the content of the subject of Health Education at the second grade of primary school. In the research part, I aimed to map the knowledge of students after completing the course of Health Education. I compared children from two schools of those who have had the Health Education subjectincluded within the learning plan and children from other two schools where the health education have been a part of other subjects. The research work was carried out by using knowledge questionnaires based on a workbook designed specifically for Health Education teaching. I assessed from the questionnaires results that students, who did not attend the subject of Health Education, have had less knowledge in this field than students who attended the subject ofHealth Education. The final part of my thesis contains answers to a hypothesis and suggests areas of educational plan, which should be more focused so that pupils without Health Education could reach the same knowledge as those students who have passed the Health Educationteaching.
