Direct social influences on adolescent smoking career

Bakalářská práce: Přímé sociální vlivy na kuřáckou kariéru mladistvých Aneta Zemanová Abstract The work is focused on adolescent smoking. Smoking habit is referred as a smoking career that has three stages: beginning, progress and the end. The topic of the work is restricted to studying the direct social influences on adolescent smoking career, which are defined as a specific challenge from a important person or group of persons from the social environment of the individual. It is expected that peers, partners, siblings and parents influence smoking career most. The work tries to show how does the adolescent smoking career look like. It also describes adolescence as a specific stage of evolution of the individual. In adolescence, there is an important concept of socialization, identity and relations with the social environment. Furthermore, the text examines the influence of cigarettes to adolescents and most distinctive life situations that may affect adolescent smoking. In the practical part of the work is presented a qualitative research based on ethnographic method. In the research was worked with a group of adolescents between 15 and 18 years. Volunteer's Experience with Senior

This bachelor thesis deals with the theme of volunteering in the lives of seniors. The main aim of the thesis is to clarify, how the volunteer himself can interpret his experience with seniors, which themes are important to him and what is the role of these experiences in his life. The text is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The first chapter of the theoretical part summarizes the current knowledge about aging, firstly in general and then specifically in the Czech Republic. The second chapter summarizes the current knowledge about volunteering and volunteer programs aimed at seniors in the Czech Republic. The practical part deals with the goals of research, used methodology and the process of the analysis. The most important part is the analysis itself and partial conclusions of each findings. Finally, I found four basic themes, which are important for volunteer experience. There are motivation of volunteers and reasons for volunteering, the reconstruction of volunteer experience with seniors, particular factors that volunteer considers as important during interpretation and consequences of volunteering activity in their personal lifes. The thesis is concluded by conclusion and summarization of key findings.
Alcohol Consumption of Prague High School Students and Its Origin in the Socialization Factors

Angelika Nelly Petrová Abstract The bachelor's thesis called "Alcohol Consumption of Prague's High School Students and Its Origin in the Socialization Factors" is about the consumption of alcohol by high school students, secondary technical school students and secondary vocational school students and the potential reasons for this alcohol consumption. The factors of socialization, such as the impact of the family, peer groups and school, are discussed in detail. The topic is first analyzed in the theoretical section that presents the main concepts, which are later on applied in the practical section, as well as the surveys that were exploited and became an inspiration for the bachelor's thesis. The practical section defines the survey objective, the survey task and related issues, the methodology of data collection and processing and their possible alternatives. It describes the methodological tool (SAQ), its individual dimensions and changes made after the pilot study. The findings are first presented for the entire target group, than are the respondents classified by gender and type of school they attend, which shows a significant difference between men and women as to the volume of consumed alcohol. This bachelor thesis is concerned with the new law on pedagogical staff. The thesis outlines the impact of the law on the lives and careers of kindergarten teachers who do not satisfy minimal criteria required by the law and who have to supplement their education or leave their jobs. It shows strategies which help teachers cope with the situation and also identifies social inequality among education professionals, which arises or intensifies because of the need to supplement the education. The analytical part is based on an analysis of semi- structured interviews conducted with kindergarten teachers, who are currently supplementing their education to obtain the required qualifications. The results of the analysis highlight the different approaches to understanding of qualifications for the teaching profession by the teachers and the wording of the law. .

The Phonetics of Advertising in Terms of Perception Assessment

v anglickém jazyce Abstract The theoretical part of the dissertation thesis dealing with the "Phonetics of Advertising in terms of Perception Assessment" studies literature sources focusing on spoken utterances, namely on language elements of various Czech pronunciation styles and characterizes both radio as a medium and basic principles of the theory and practical aspects of radio advertising. It outlines the grounds for description of phonetic aspects at both segmental and suprasegmental level. It provides basic features describing phonetic characteristics of the Czech language in light of its orthoepic standard. Based on the results of a quantitative survey and namely the perception tests, the goal of the paper is to show potential applicability of phonetics in marketing communications, specifically concerning the variability of the verbal part of commercials reflecting different products and target consumer groups, i.e. to show the potential the Czech language is offering at present and ways of making the most of this potential in radio advertising.
