Different Approach or Barriers of power?
Jansová, Kateřina ; Gelnarová, Jitka (advisor) ; Franěk, Jakub (referee)
Representation of women in the lowest floor of Czech politics (the smallest municipalities) is percent higher than representation of women in the highest elected political office at the central level. There is a rule: the higher function, the smaller the percentage of women. This thesis focuses on reciprocal proportion between power importance of the political function and the percentage of women engaged in political office. The thesis search for answer to the question: What are the reasons of the reciprocal proportion between power importance of political function and the percentage of men and women who perform a given function? The goal of the thesis is find why the women are represented in the functions of the lower floors of politics more than the upper floors.
Structural evolution, magnetic fabric and mechanism of exhumation of the Podolsko complex
Burjak, Miroslav ; Žák, Jiří (advisor) ; Franěk, Jan (referee)
This thesis concentrates on a detailed field and structural analysis of the Podolsko complex, Moldanubian unit, Bohemian Massif, complemented by a microstructural study and analysis of magnetic susceptibility (AMS). The Podolsko complex occupies the footwall of a major Variscan normal shear zone and is juxtaposed against the southern to southeastern margin of the Central Bohemian Plutonic complex. During the field work, more than 160 outcrops were examined, the AMS samples were taken at 25 stations, and samples for microstructural studies were taken from 12 localities. On the micro-scale, leucocratic migmatites contain abundant garnet grains which may represent relics of an earlier (ultra-)high preassure metamorphic phase. Retrogression is obvious in other samples of biotite migmatites of the Moldanubian Variegated unit. The retrogression is marked by the presence of sillimanite and chlorite. The main tectonometamorphic event in the Podolsko complex is extensive migmatization coeval with formation of pervasive flat-laying fabric. This is corroborated by the AMS study which indicates concordant steep to flat-laying magnetic and mesoscopic foliations striking NNW-SSE. The AMS also shows that the subhorizontal N-S to NNW-SSE trending magnetic lineations in the Podolsko complex correspond to those in the...
The Ideological Foundations of American Foreign Policy: John Lock's liberalism
Kárník, Jan ; Franěk, Jakub (advisor) ; Ditrych, Ondřej (referee)
Main focus of this bachelor thesis is the influence of John Locke's political theory on American foreign policy. Its aim is to reveal the colonial context of Locke's theory and link it with American exceptionalism and also to identify some features of Locke's theory with the "War on Terror" and the so-called "Bush Doctrine". Two dichotomies typical of American foreign policy studies are being examined, realism-idealism and isolationism-expansionism. To understand them better, the thesis examines briefly the history of the early American republic with an emphasis on the so-called Monroe Doctrine. In conclusion, the author states that the tradition of American foreign policy is rather expansionist and unilateralist then isolationist and that it is hard to place it clearly in the realism-idealism dichotomy. Locke's political theory is found at the core of American exceptionalism and idealism and some features of Locke' theory are found in the "War on Terror" and in the "Bush doctrine". At the end it is argued, that it is necessary to keep in mind the eurocentrism of Locke's theory and the ideological nature of American exceptionalism when studying American foreign policy.
The Politics of Marijuana Legalisation in a Comparative Perspective
Strejček, Vilém ; Franěk, Jakub (advisor) ; Brunclík, Miloš (referee)
This work focus on the issue of potential legalisation of marijuana for recreational use in Czech Republic in comparison with different experiences from two, foreign states of the European Union - Netherlands and Spain. The work begins with a description of a historical context of cannabis use that is subsequently followed by historic and actual state of legislation in Czech Republic. The chapter regarding the situation in Czech Republic is furthermore composed of different opinions of relevant political parties, experts and public opinion polls. The second part is addressing the historical process and actual state of legalisation in Netherlands and Spain that is afterwards also accompanied by the opinions of political parties, experts and public opinion polls, which are focused on actual problems considering the specific type of legalisation in both countries. This chapter is followed-up by a comparison of the Spanish and Dutch model of legalisation and by general summarization of different political and expert opinions across the chosen countries accompanied by the information from the public opinion polls. All the data from the previous chapter are afterwards applied in the final summary of this work, where the comparison of positive and negative aspects of both models are made. In the...
Ideologization and fragmentation of Skinhead subculture
Novotný, Jaroslav ; Charvát, Jan (advisor) ; Franěk, Jakub (referee)
The master thesis titled Ideologization and fragmentation of Skinhead subculture deals with historical background of Skinhead subculture genesis and with cleavages, that determinated its ideologization and fragmentation. Simultaneously it pays close attention to analysis of various branches of the Skinhead subculture. The first chapter of the thesis builds theoretical foundations of the research. In this chapter the terms culture, subculture and counterculture are explained. Accentutation is placed on common denominators as well as on differences in the definition of these terms. The second chapter of the master thesis deals equally with historical background of Skinhead subculture genesis and with subcultures with a significant impact on the formation of the Skinhead subculture. In this chapter the attention is focused on historical facts of political development in Great Britain after The Second World War, on subcultures popular at that time and on foundation of the Skinhead subculture. The third chapter of this thesis analyzes infiltration of the political ideologies inside the subculture and the following fragmentation of Skinheads. Research in this chapter is focused on the spread of extreme right-wing elements, foundation of the racist branch of the subculture and sequentially on the reaction...
Mechanisms of granite fracturing and their implications for origin of gold-bearing veins in Mokrsko deposit
Švagera, Ondřej ; Lexa, Ondrej (advisor) ; Franěk, Jan (referee)
The stress concept in geology is widely used for analysis and description of tectonic events. These can be documented directly in the field or by interperetation of results gained by laboratory analysis. The expressions of brittle tectonics and geological events linked with them are often important clues leading to understanding processes giving unique forms to many localities. The origin of gold-bearing veins in Mokrsko deposit is result of long-lasting tectonic processes. During these were created at least 4 generations of brittle structures. The proximity of Variscides is the source of this brittle fracturing. Sázava pluton intruded during the syn- orogenic phase and in the Slapy apophysis of Sázava pluton started the circulation of fluids because of the contact metamorphism. These fluids were using pre-existing EW joint systems. After that, the precipitation of minerals rich in Bi-Te-Cu gave origin to the local gold-bearing mineralization. This mineralisation is partly bound to the quartz-veins localized on Mokrsko- Západ. Their thickness is often in sub-milimeter scale with very regular spacing.
Analysis of FUNFitness program for persons with mental retardation-Special Olympics participants
Franěk, Josef ; Levitová, Andrea (advisor) ; Flemrová, Miroslava (referee)
Title of the master thesis: Analysis of FUNFitness program for persons with mental retardation - Special Olympics participants The aim: To compare test results in the program FUNFitness for a group of sports population of mentally retarded persons with Down syndrome, a group of persons with cerebral palsy and a group of persons with simple mental retardation. Method: evaluation, empirical research observing and comparing the variables between the different types of health diagnoses, descriptively association relationships Results: The analyzed data were obtained of the participants of the European Special Olympics games held in 2005 in Olomouc. The measured data was divided into groups according to medical diagnosis of participants: the persons mentally retarded (MR) with cerebral palsy (n = 32), MR persons with Down syndrome (n = 18) and those with simple MR (n = 35). Using series of tests in program FUNFitness flexibility, strength and balance were compared between selected groups. The most statistically significant difference (p <0.05) were found between groups of people with Down syndrome and those with simple MR. The results showed that group of DS have the weakest strength and balance, which are found in poor strength capability of the lower extremities and poor ability in equilibrium test...
