TITLE: Speech and language therapy intervention for children with autism spectrum disorders AUTHOR: Michaela Horáková DEPARTMENT: Department of special education SUPERVISOR: Mgr. Lucie Durdilová ABSTRACT: This bachelor thesis is devoted to speech and language therapy for children with autism spectrum disorders. The theoretical part deals with autism spectrum disorders, focusing on their classification, etiology, symptomatology with an emphasis on qualitative impairment in communication, and care options for preschool children with these disorders. The thesis also concerns with the theoretical bases of speech and language therapy intervention provided for children with autism spectrum disorders. The practical part is devoted to communication improvement in special nursery school. It includes case studies of two boys with autism. The aim of this qualitative research investigation is to evaluate children's communication skills, describe the intervention methods to improve their communication, and describe work with children in the classroom, focusing on stimulation of their communication competencies. Efficiency of speech therapy by children before entering the first grade of primary school

This bachelor thesis deals with problems in communication disability and efficiency of speech therapy by children before entering the first grade of primary school. The thesis summaries knowledge from special education and logopdia. In theoretical part there are described the basic concepts of communication disability, development of speech, preschool age and speech therapy. It explaines theoretical context, compares the different approaches and differences in terminology and introduces the issue. The practical part discusses progress and results of research.

Special education diagnostic of school readiness Abstract This thesis on Special educational diagnostics of school readiness deals with preparedness of a child entering primary school. It concerns the main features of readiness for school attendance such as physical, perceptual, cognitive and social, emotional and motivational readiness. The first section describes the abilities a pre-school child should posses in terms of aspects mentioned earlier. Subsequently, an emphasis will be given to the enrolment in primary school and then it is followed by the description of legislation and functions of the preparatory classes for primary education. The aim of my thesis paper is to demonstrate the importance of the preparation for systematic graphomotorical skills of children with deferred school attendance who attend preparatory year of elementary school. The theoretical part focuses on diagnosis of auditory and visual perception and graphomotorical skills in a selected group of children (research and control). One element of the paper is dedicated to design an intervention plan for the group of researchers and its subsequent evaluation in the form of re-diagnosis. Evaluation of school leaving exam in foreign languages regarding the needs of students with learning disabilities

The bachelor's thesis deals with essential knowledge concerning learning disabilities, focusing mainly on reading disorder and disorder of written expression. It covers information about history and contemporary form of school leaving exam, including its modification for students with special needs. The thesis deals in detail with issues connected with maturita exam in foreign languages taken by the students with specific learning disabilities. A questionnaire was used as an exploratory method in the practical part. The questionnaire was intended for teachers of grammar schools, vocational schools and training institutions, who are certified evaluators of writing and speaking with the update for evaluation of SPU-O category. Most of the teachers think that the needs of students with learning disabilities are respected in school leaving exam. However, many of them were not able to review the objectivity of rating. It is necessary to raise awareness of specific learning disabilities not only among general public but also among educators. TITTLE: Cooperation kindergartens integrating children with disabilities with special educational centers. AUTHOR: Bc. Dana Strouhalová DEPARTMENT: Department of special education SUPERVISOR: Mgr. Lenka Felcmanová ABSTRACT: The goal of my diploma thesis named "Cooperation between special learning centers and kindergartens that integrate children with disabilities" is to point out issues of integration process in common kindergartens.The first part deals with theoretical knowledge in the field and explains technical terms of special and preschool education. Then it focuses on a current legislative framework in Czech Republic which covers integration of children with disabilities into kindergartens. The second part of the thesis is research realized among teachers in preschool educational facilities. Its main purpose was to find how the integration process works and what are experiences of teachers who teach classes where are children with disabilities. The conclusion displays the meaning and how important it is to integrate children with disabilities in kindergartens.
