On interference between Czech, Russian and English in language learning
Dvořáková, Jana ; Šebesta, Karel (advisor) ; Bozděchová, Ivana (referee)
The thesis deals with second language acquisition (SLA) of Czech in Russian and English students. It presents the main theories of SLA (generative and cognitive approaches) and compares them to the results of author's research into L2 acquisition of Czech morphology and syntax in speakers of two typologically and structurally different mothertongues. It shows that language transfer plays an important role in SLA and that some of the generative assumptions about SLA that are claimed to apply universally cannot be proven for Czech.
Effect inflammations of upper respiratory pathways, and whether taking hormonal contraception or tonsilectomy to the incidence of thyroid gland diseases
Dvořáková, Jana ; Sedlak, Petr (referee)
The objective of this thesis was to determine whether any causal relationship exists between thyroid gland diseases and frequent and repeated inflammations of upper respiratory pathways, and whether taking hormonal contraception or tonsilectomy undergone in an early age may exert any influence the incidence of thyroid gland diseases. In this study, anonymous answers of 364 patients at the endocrinological outpatient department with various durations of thyreopathy treatment were collected. A questionnaire with open and closed questions was used as the form of the study, and the questionnaire was completed during personal interviews. Common medical division of thyroid gland diseases was respected when processing the results, i.e. division to euthyreosis, inflammation, hypothyreosis, hyperthyreosis, tumour, and surgery in the past. In general population, 17.8 % of persons older than 15 years of age suffer from diseases of upper respiratory pathways. 35.7 % of the questioned patients reported that they repeatedly suffered from diseases of upper respiratory pathways. It is thus apparent that those suffering from a thyroid gland disorder show a double rate of any disease of upper respiratory pathways than those showing relative health. Preliminary results of the survey suggest a significant influence of...
Diversity of molluscan assemblages of temperate forests: model case of Křivoklátsko
Sobotová, Eliška ; Juřičková, Lucie (advisor) ; Dvořáková, Jana (referee)
1 Abstract: My bachelor thesis summarizes the impact of environmental factors and microhabitats on temperate forest snail assemblages: mainly on their diversity and abundance. Most authors consider humidity, calcium content and forest condition the main factors, which influence forest gastropod assemblages. However, othes have a different view on the importance of another factors such as composition of the forest vegetation, pH, the role of different sources of calcium carbonate. Some studies contradict themselves. My aim was also to point out these differences. Many of environmental factors are measurable with difficulties. Using of Ellenberg's indicator values seems to be an interesting alternative possibility to classical measurement. The importance of Křivoklátsko PLA is highlight as the landscape of continual forest development, which is unique within Central Europe.
Crimes committed under the influence of alcohol
Dvořáková, Jana ; Štefunková, Michaela (advisor) ; Zeman, Petr (referee)
I processed a bachelor's work on the subject of "Criminal activity under the influence of alcohol." The work consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. The first part focuses mainly on the problematic of alcohol abuse and on the influence of alcohol on the human organism. Individual stages are addressed - intoxication with alcohol and types of insobriety. Further, the changes (e.g. functional) regarding human organism are addressed. The second part describes abuse of alcohol as a criminogenic factor and criminal activity related to the consumption of alcohol. In the practical part, based on studying selected cases of the Regional Court in Prague, where offenders committed criminal activities under the influence of alcohol, the influence of this addictive substance on particular behavior of an individual, their personality and environment where they live is researched. The conclusions are confronted with in practice enforced preventive measured in the framework of the Czech Republic - in terms of entirety and effectiveness. The aim of my work is to confirm a hypothesis regarding the harmfulness (danger) of alcohol abuse by an individual for society, in terms of criminality.
Jews in Finland during World War II
Dvořáková, Jana ; Šedinová, Jiřina (advisor)
Before and during World War II there was almost no Anti-Semitism in Finland, and in fact, the Finnish government refused to condone the Nazis' anti-Jewish platform. When Finland also refused to cooperate with the Soviet Union in late 1939, Soviet troops attacked Finland. As equal Finnish citizens, the country's Jews joined the army to fight the Soviets; some 15 were killed and many others were wounded. After holding out for several months, Finland surrendered to the Soviet Union in March 1940 and was forced to hand over some of its territory to the Soviets. In 1941 German troops came to Finland; Finland then joined Germany as its ally in the attack on the Soviet Union in order to recapture the land it had lost to the Soviets in the Winter war. Some 300 Jews (Finnish citizens and refugees from other countries) served in the Finnish army during the Continuous war. The German authorities requested that the Finnish government hand over its Jewish community, but the Finns refused. Reportedly, when SS chief Heinrich Himmler brought up the "Jewish question" with Prime Minister Johann Wilhelm Rangell in mid-1942, Rangell replied that there was no Jewish question in Finland; he firmly stated that the country had but 2,000 respected Jewish citizens who fought in the army just like everyone else, and thus closed the...
Integration of medical information systems
Kusák, David ; Dvořáková, Jana (referee) ; Nečaský, Martin (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis examines ways of integration of various Hospital Information Systems (HIS) in frame of heterogenous interoperable platform. Thanks to that, exchange of information from Electronic Health Record (EHR) between HISes is enabled. A Modern approach to integration of systems should put emphasis on standardization of communication. The solution of communication described in this thesis is based on HL7 standard, which is one of the most perspective standard for transfer medical informations. The bachelor thesis contains a part of integration of cardiological information system AdamekJ into the network of another HISes. Integration of these systems is based on HL7 standard and is being solved in frame of the project 1ET200300413AVR on Department of Medical informatics ICS ASCR.
Ferdinand Vaněk on the stage
Dvořáková, Jana ; Augustová, Zuzana (referee) ; Just, Vladimír (advisor)
During seventies and eighties, respecti vely in the period 1975 - 1985, nine new plays by four authors have emerged, mostly one-act plays, called together vaňkovky. They earned this label on basis of the identical name of the main character, which is Ferdinand Vaněk. Nevertheless "These plays lack firm common theme, rather they form only "occasional" stories/sketches a konto Ferdinand Vaněk than genuine dramas wi th strong self-supporting stories. ,,142 Some authors produced just one such play (Jiří Dienstbier Reception) , others two of them (Pavel Landovský Sanitary Night, Arrest) and some even three (Václav Havel Audience, Unveiling, Protest; Pavel Kohout Permit, Morass, Safari). Journey of vaňkovky to the stage was a complicated one. In the original years it was not only due difficulty of their staging. Most of them (Audience, Protest, Unveiling, Permit, Arrest) were premiered abroad, concretely in Viennese Burgtheater. Besides these world premieres did I turn my attention only to professional plus most significant non-professional productions presented in Czech Republic. In turn of the Velvet revolution in 1989 proscribed authors and plays were free to show on stages and vaňkovky could be seen with perhaps excessive frequency. This period, lasting approximately one and half year and expiring by the end...
