Pragmatic and stylistic analysis of ceremonial wedding speech

The diploma thesis deals with wedding solemn declarations in the light of language focusing on the pragmatic aspects. The point is to form the typical sings of the solemn declarations style based on the used stylistic and pragmatic analysis. The starting material of the analysis builds together 30 harangues (15 civil and 15 church), from which are the exhibits used and are part of the enclosure. The work is divided in four chapters. In the first chapter we deal with the characterization of wedding solemn declarations of wedding solemn declarations and with the structure of the ceremony (how civil as church), too. The second chapter The civil cermony and church draws out understanding institution of marriage with laws of the Czech Republic and it speaks aqbout civil and church wedding cermony generaly. The next chapter "The pragmatic and stylistic analysis" contain the analysis of the all illustrations. The amphasis is located on the thematic aspect of speeches in the pragmatic analysis. There are drawn out a personality of speaker and his intention. The stylistic analysis is done in the separated levels - fonetic-fonologic, morfologic, lexical and syntactic. Criteria and ways of evaluation in teachnig stalistics

Diplomová práce se zabývá tématem hodnocení, jeho specificností v hodinách slohové výchovy. Zameruje se na psané projevy žáku, zkoumá zpusoby a kritéria hodnocení kontrolních slohových prací. Vychází z analýzy opravených slohových prací žáku a z dotazníkového šetrení. Vyhodnocuje v praxi využívané zpusoby hodnocení, navrhuje možný systém oznacování chyb, vhodné kriteriální hodnocení, uvádí seznam možných kritérií. Navrhuje nekteré možné zpusoby, jak naucit pracovat žáky s kritérii hodnocení a s vlastní chybou.
The specifics of the female communication (from the material of disscussion websistes)

Résumé This thesis is dedicated to the reserch and analysis of electronical communication, which proceeds on a website, primary designed for women and used by women. The task of this research is to define and desribe the behaviour and the development of the communication between the users and also to describe the features typicall for this kind of communication. The website, from which are the insertions and illustrations taken, is called www.beremese.cz and it is oriented on the wedding thematic. The definition of the room, in which the users communicate, was taken over from the text of Eva Jandova/b (see the list of used texts). The purpose of this thesis is to narrowly document and analyse the diagram of communication between the female users of this website, during which time the special attention belongs to the semantic level of all analysed conversations. Because the data, which the users during the communication offer, can not be verified, the users can not be classified due to their social status in the "real world", but only due to their status in the space of the electronical communication. Pragmatic analysis of practice talks of Safety Line

Diploma work deals with pragmatic and stylistic anaylisis of practice talks of a Safety Line for children and adolescents. Its aim was to map and to valorize spoken speech in the frame of telephonic helpline in Prague. There is a interpretation of psychologic conceptions like a crisis, crisis intervention at the first part, which are for understending of language analysis necessery and summary of variables, which can influence language speech of consultants of the Safety Line. I mean specific of telephone communication and understanding with a man in difficult life situation. Analysis, valorizing and exercise of psychologic and language strategies (speech acts) during work with childeren is done on the basis of records of exercise talks on the Safety Line. Classification of this way acquired data make more effective method of handover of experiences in future didactic use not only for education of consultants of the Safety Line but also in schools. This work demonstrates high individuality and variability of speech of all consultants of the Safety Line in spite of his institutional conception and uniform principles of telefonie crisis intervention.
Manipulation in Media Dialogue

Práce vychází z analýzy diskusních pořadů Sedmička, Otázky Václava Moravce a Nedělní partie, které byly sledovány v období únor 2006 - březen 2006 a v období červen 2006 - listopad 2006. Tato diplomová práce je zaměřena na popis manipulačních strategií užívaných v těchto mediálních dialozích. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a část praktickou. Jednotlivé kapitoly jsou věnovány základním způsobům záměrného porušování kooperativní komunikace - porušování Griceova a Leechova principu verbální komunikace, podílu a vlivu konfliktotvorných prostředků na manipulaci v mediálním dialogu a kvaziargumentaci. Součástí praktické části je i kapitola věnovaná neverbální manipulaci a reakcím na ni. Na závěr práce je zařazena kapitola věnující se didaktickému využití tématu "manipulace v mediálním dialogu". Obsahuje takové příklady cvičení, které se snaží studentům usnadnit pochopení dané problematiky. The Sounds of Spoken Czech for Speakers whose Mother Tongue is German

Tato práce se věnuje výslovnosti a jejímu vlivu na průběh komunikačního procesu. Na základě teoretických východisek a magnetofonových nahrávek zkoumá a popisuje vliv zautomatizovaných výslovnostních návyků z mateřského, německého, jazyka na jazyk cílový, český. The Language of Contemporary Advertising and the Codification of the Czech Language (The Regional Press of the Town Beroun Its Surroundings)

The thesis deals with the language of contemporary advertising published 1 in a selection of regional newspapers of the town Beroun and its surroundings, i.e. Berounsky denik, Podbrdské noviny and The Independent Newspaper of the Beroun Region - ECHO. The main part of the paper evaluates the language of advertising from the point of view of codification and examines the flaws in orthography which appear in these texts. The deviations from the orthography rules found in the texts are classified in compliance to The Czech Language Orthography Rules published in 2004. Following the discovered facts I tried to find out which mistakes prevail, to identify the causes of their origin and to review to what extent the adult population has mastered the rules. Besides the orthographic flaws I also focused on other aberrations from the language standards and special features in the fields of stylistics, lexicology and morphology. As I worked with a specific type of newspapers - the regional press - 1 also tried to draw a more general picture of the form and the language of their advertising and to compare the present-day situation with the condition twelve years ago when these newspapers started to be published. The Perception of Space of People from Various Cultures and its Effect of their Languages

Das Ziel der DA sollte feststellen, wie die Träger der tschechischen und der deutschen Kultur den Raum wahrnehmen. Er sollte die Hypothese widerlegen/bestätigen, dass es möglich ist, dass die Sprachen der Nachbarvölker mit sehr nahen Kulturen ihre Umwelt nicht ganz ähnlich konzeptualisieren. Das Thema der DA gehört zum Bereich der Kognitiven Linguistik, die bisher bei uns nicht durchsetzt wurde als eine Richtung von größerer Bedeutung. Aus diesem Grund wird der erste (Einleitungs-) Teil deren Beschreibung und Charakteristik gewidmet. Der zweite Teil stellt den tschechischen Sprachbild des Wortes - Begriffes prostor fest, der dritte Teil den deutschen Sprachbild des Wortes - Begriffes der Raum. Die Voraussetzung für die Feststellung der Sprachbilder des Wortes - Begriffes prostor/der Raum ist die Durchführung der kognitiven Analyse und der metaphorischmetonymischen Konzeptualisation des Wortes - Begriffes prostor/der Raum. Der vierte Teil vergleicht die beiden Sprachbilder. Die Ergebnisse der Komparation beweisen, dass die Wahrnehmung des Raumes von den Trägern der tschechischen und der deutschen Kultur gleich ist. Im letzten Teil wird vorgeschlagen, wie man die Kenntnisse der Kognitiven Linguistik (vor allem kognitive Analyse) im Unterricht der Muttersprache und der Fremdsprache ausnützen könnte. Powered by...
Iterrelations between Questions and Answers in Political Interview

The object of my dissertation called Interrelations between question and answer in political interview is to make broad pragmatic analysis of dialogic texts printed in reputable daily press. This analysis is based on 43 interviews published in the Czech dailies "Právo" and "Lidové noviny". The dissertation deals, in the above mentioned sort of interview, in more detail with an issue of publicistic replicas and their influence on replicas of an informant. It is concerned with large number of certain questions (publicistic replicas are divided into replicas with declaratory question, complementary question, statement of interviewer with assumed answer of informant and reaction of journalist to replica of informant), then studies especially interview from strategy point of view used by journalist (manipulating particularly) and tactical strategies of informants (these are divided into defensive, offensive and manipulating). The dissertation also deals with relation of an interview to objectivity - the information one as well as journalistic. This kind of objectivity is mostly kept in interview. The Cultivation of Language Utterances and Communication Instruction in School

This work contains three parts. The first part describes attitudes chosen by various authors towards the subject of communication training in three sets of textbooks for the second grade of basic schools, namely those by Vlastimil Styblík, Balkó and Zimová and Oldřich Uličný. The aim was to establish if there are differences in the attitudes of the individual authors and if so, what they are. The conclusion made is that in all basic principles the attitudes towards the communication training are the same, i.e. communication principle, integrity of texts with real life of pupils and main aim to increase ability of pupils to be able of a cultured and adequate speech. A significant difference is in a different level of the communication training within the subject of Czech language and literature. Although all three authors keep horizontal link between the individual parts of the subject - language, composition, literature, the level of integrity is different. VI. Styblík allocates a separate part to the communication training which includes chapters on individual composition forms. Authors Balkó and Zimová use a principle of integration in composition of their textbooks (i.e. integration of linguistic and composition texts).
