Mů j zájem o dě jiny Velké Moravy zač al již krátce po narození. Ne, není to omyl, narodila jsem se totiž v Uherském Hradišti a celý svů j dosavadní život prožila ve Starém Mě stě , v centru onoho dávného Veligradu, který svou velikostí a vyspě lostí v devátém století př edč il mnohé svě tové civilizace a př edbě hl dě jinný vývoj mnohdy až o ně kolik staletí. Již ve 3 letech jsem v doprovodu rodiců zpovzdálí se zájmem sledovala práci archeologů a ve skrytu duše jim závidě la to jejich "velké pískoviště " a speciální "lopatky", se kterými si tam den co den "hráli"... Dnes již jen s úsmě vem na tvář i vzpomínám na mou bujnou fantazii a uvě domuji si, že ono "velké pískoviště ", na které jsem se v 80.letech 20.století chodila dívat, bylo pohř ebiště "Na Valách" a archeologové se tam vě novali dalšímu ze svých př ínosných archeologických výzkumů . Možná jsem tam tehdy ještě stač ila zahlédnout Viléma Hrubého, jednoho z nejvýznamně jších archeologů Starého Mě sta, nebo Luď ka Galušku, soudobého archeologa, se kterým jsem se po více jak 20 letech setkala v Mě stském zemském muzeu v Brně , aby mi shrnul dosavadní archeologické úspě chy a dal velmi cenné rady k této diplomové práci. V posledních mě sících jsem mnohokrát odpovídala na otázku, co mě vedlo k výbě ru tématu mé práce a proč jsem si zvolila právě Velkou...

Cultic Purge in Political Concepts of Vassal Judah

KULTICKÁ OČISTA V POLITICKÝCH KONCEPCÍCH JUDSKÉHO VAZALSKÉHO STÁTU CULTIC PURGE IN POLITICAL CONCEPTS OF VASSAL JUDAH ThDr. Alena HANZOVÁ In the introduction, the author characterise his work as interdisciplinary based historical analysis of specified period of Biblical Israel and interprets relevant Old Testament texts. The author first brings the best-known approaches of researchers (M. Noth, A. Alt, FW Albright, GE Mendelhall) in archaeology and history of Israel. She introduce the so-called revisionist approach to history of Israel and presents a chronology of ancient Israel and also focuses on Israel's religion in the context of the 8th and 7th centuries BC on the territory of Israel and Judah. She examines in detail the semantically very rich phenomenon of religious cults, other part of the work explains the characteristics of the kings of Judah and offers description of the most important cult reforms and the political concepts of Judah vassal state. Finally, the author notes that "Judah despite its unquestioned vassal ties and obligations retains its distinctive cultic and religious character ".

The geographic horizon of Ancient Egyptians in the 3rd millennium BC

The thesis focuses on the Egyptian foreign relations with Syropalestine and Sinai, Eastern Desert and Punt, Nubia, Western Desert and Crete in the Old Kingdom covering most of the 3rd millennium BC time span. Each of the chapters presents the so far available archaeological evidence of interaction and the historical or the geographical implications based on it. In the conclusions the author, comparing the situation in particular areas, attempts to draw the general influence on economical and cultural life, as well as, the political significance of Egyptian foreign relations.

Tuto práci bylo určitě možno napsat na mnoha místech jinak, zcela jistě lépe a často také více do hloubky. Nepopírám, že řady vytčených cílů bylo dosaženo pouze částečně a některé otázky zůstaly dokonce nezodpovězeny, přesto si ale myslím, že práce jako celek svůj základní účel splnila. Výsledky archeologického výzkumu často svojí nekonkrétností svádí ke spekulaci. V takovém případě jsem se vždy snažil o co možná nejserióznější přístup, který by bral ohled na všechny možné varianty řešení. Jestliže jsem byl nucen formulovat konkrétní závěry, pokoušel jsem se je podat vždy tak, aby bylo zřejmé, jaké důvody mne ke konečnému rozhodnutí vedly. Netvrdím, že výsledky, k nimž jsem při práci dospěl, odrážejí nějakou historickou pravdu a jsou tak jediné možné. Jsem si vědom, že jiný badatel může mít na věc odlišný názor, a budu proto rád za každou věcnou připomínku ke způsobu provedení i výsledkům mého dosavadního výzkumu. Čtenáři se pak dodatečně omlouvám, za všechny případné chyby, které v práci najde, a které padají pouze a jen na mou hlavu.

Pyramid causeway in the Old Kingdom: evolution of the architecture and definition of the relief decoration program

In the spring of 1994, an unexpected discovery to the North of the upper part of Sahure's causeway changed the long established belief that the mortuary complex of Sahure was excavated completely by L. Borchardt.1 Four huge limestone blocks decorated in basrelief of the highest quality bearing unique polychrome scenes were discovered during that spring, proving Borchardt's excavations of Sahure's complex were incomplete. These four blocks were evidence that more decorated blocks and fragments were still under the masses of sand surrounding the upper part of the causeway which had never been investigated by Borchardt? This surprising discovery was the result of cleaning being done in the area in preparation to open the Abusir necropolis for tourists. The work was under the supervision of Zahi Hawass. Hawass stopped the work at Abusir and reburied the blocks after they were photographed and drawn with the help of the Czech mission working at Abusir. Only a preliminary report was published by Zahi Hawass and Miroslav Verner to present the discovery to scholars.3 In their report, a survey of the causeways from royal funerary complexes was performed to alert scholars that many causeways are partially or completely unexcavated and need to be given more attention.4 In 2002, the present author was trusted by Hawass...

The accounting from the papyrus archive of Neferre and their specific terminology

This doctoral thesis is intended as a basic study of the accounting documents from the papyrus archive of Neferre. Some parts of this work shall be used in the near future for the purposes of the publication of the papyrus archive of Neferre. The archive shall be published in collaboration with and under the supervision of Miroslav Verner, and will encompass the previous work of the late Paule Posener-Krh~ger. In Chapter 2, basic information concerning the Abusir papyrus archives is presented. This includes short notions about the discoveries of the three papyrus archives in Abusir, about their date of origin, and about the types of records preserved in these archives. Other known papyrus archives from the Old Kingdom are also mentioned in this chapter. Chapter 3 contains a detailed description of all the fragments of accounts from the archive of Neferre, arranged into subchapters following an elaborate classification of the types of accounts. The descriptions of the fragments are very detailed because this study does not include the translations of the texts.1 Thus, they include as much information as possible, and many suggestions concerning the interpretation of these records were added as well.
