Design of an HVAC system in a retrofitted family house

This work is devoted to the design of a microclimate facility in a family house. The first part contains analysis of thermal losses before and after using thermal insulation. Based on this analysis, a heating system is proposed, including the necessary technical calculations for the operation of the system. As a heat source, a condensing boiler is selected. At the next point, the thesis focuses on the calculation of the heat gains in selected rooms in order to design a cooling device. A multisplit system is selected for cooling the rooms. In the next part the thesis deals with the design of forced ventilation of selected rooms. The ventilation system provides the necessary air exchange and covers heat losses through ventilation. At the end of the thesis is outlined the concept of regulation of individual systems and also the requirements for individual professions are described.

This master`s thesis describes the design alterations that lead to a reduction in heat loss of the house, an extension of living space in the attic and the subsequent reconstruction of the heating system. The first is presentation of the house. After that, there is calculation heat loss of the house. The next step contains design of a reconstruction for every room and calculation modified heat loss. Another point this work is design the reconstruction of the heating system, extension heating system to the attic floor, calculation pressure losses and selection condensing gas boiler. After that is designed regulation with central control unit and electric thermostatic radiator valve. The last part of master`s thesis is focused on benefit assessment changes, budget and return of investment. The drawings are listed in the appendix.

This Master's thesis deals with reusing waste heat from the kitchen and .cold rooms of a restaurant, as a source of heat for heat pump water heater. The first part is about basic principles and theory which is needed to understand the function of heat pump and possibilities of reusing wasted heat. In the other parts, there are calculations and designs not only of a heat pump, but also coolers and ventilation unit needed for recycling of heat.

After calculation there is a suggestion of a heating system and source of heat. Next part of the thesis presents a real technology of the heating in a family house. This research introduces the reader to a brief analysis of various types of aircraft engines, with particular focus upon jet engines. Amongst the types of jet engines which will be covered are turboprop, turbojet, turbofan, ramjet, propfan, & the pulse engine. This body of work investigates the construction, operation and characteristics of these engines, including a analysis of their thermodynamic working cycle & the power of thrust produced. The main objective is to achieve a full comparison of the different kinds of engines using variables such as efficiency, fuel consumption and emission production.

This master thesis deals with the filtration of air contaminated with oil and the total efficiency and propose a new filtration system. The reason is insufficient capacity and functionality of the operating device is incorrect. It will propose the most appropriate solution to this in terms of economic and technical design is satisfactory.

Space heating of a single family home with a heat pump

The master’s thesis contains design for heat insulation of a family house for purpose of reducing the heat loss, adding a new room and complete design of heating system. First part is introducing the house, followed by calculating the heat loss for the original building. Next step proposes the heat insulation of constructions, design for the new room and recalculating the modified heat loss including comparison with the original values. Another part is dealing with the design of the heating system, providing calculations of the power requirement and the pressure loss of underfloor heating and panel radiators. After that there was the selection of the heat pump, bivalent heat source, choice of storage tank and solution for domestic water heating. In the last part the security components were checked, drawing documentation were created and attached and the calculation of return on investment was made.
Design optimization of a heat exchanger with a phase change material for thermal energy storage

Práce je zaměřena na sestavení numerického modelu akumulace tepelné energie s fázovou přeměnou. Následně je tento model použit při tvarové optimalizaci, jejíž cílem je maximalizace uloženého tepla v tepelném výměníku. Kvůli komplexitě objektové funkce byl zvolen genetický algoritmus pro řešní úloh tvarové optimalizace. Práce obsahuje analýzu dvou problému týkající se tvarové optimalizace s následnou diskuzí nad obdrženými výsledky. Celý problém byl implementován v softwaru Matlab.
Evaluation of energy demands of buildings using NKN II and comparison with results of energy simulation

The Master Thesis evaluates the energy demands of two types of family houses. The calculations are performed using the national calculation tool NKN II and the simulation software TRNSYS. The results of both methods are compared and their differences explained. Both calculation tools are compared from the user point view and finally their applicability for project designers is evaluated.
