The Early Bronze Age settlement area at Brandýs nad Labem (Central Bohemia)-features with human skeletan remains

In the year of 2007 has been in Brandýs nad Labem - Vrábí "U Vodojemu" (Central Bohemia) carried out an archeological exploration in the process of which has been uncovered many objects of human skeletal remains of varied kinds dated from the early bronze age. It has been found not only the burial site of the early Únětice culture but also human skeletal remains in the settlement holes, two graves in the base of the settlement holes, a barrow with a stone wreath in a preserved cultural layer and a ditch with several human bones. From the barrow and the ditch originated five radiocarbon dates that disagree with dating of these objects based on ceramics typology. Prehistoric and protohistoric settlement of the upper Torysa river basin

The Diploma thesis is focused on prehistoric and protohistoric settlement of the upper Torysa river basin. The work is based on data published in elder scientific literature and on data acquired from surface survey of author, which was accomplished in autumn of 2010 and spring of 2011. The main goal of survey was to acquire an evidence about prehistorical or protohistorical settlement in upper part of basin over the line Sabinov - Drienica. Under study was also the lower located area of mentioned region. Author succeeded to find some of new sites in both areas respectively he managed to complete and correct the elder knowledge. The detailed catalogue, which is based on accumulated data, covers all of archeological sites with finds dated till 13th century. The script of the thesis is based on this catalogue and offers overwiew about the state of research and also provides an idea about settlement in area under study. The copper ore bed at Mutěnín in Western Bohemia and the question of its exploitation in the prehistory

The present bachelor thesis aims to clarify the question of possible use of copper mines in Mutěnín in Western Bohemia in prehistoric times, especially since the Bronze Age settlement in the region. Authors engaged in the prehistoric settleents in the West Bohemia, refer to the isme from 60 years of the 20th century. The identification of prehistoric relicts mines activites in the Czech Republic is very difficult, because most were destroyed in the extraction of modern times. For research purposes, there are only very limited ways. One of them is the study of archival materials on historical production, which, although to look far into the Middle Ages - in our case, only the 16th century. However, thanks to them we get information on the shape mines in the past. The only relatively effective form of archeological research in the surveyed area is the surface collection, which was carried out this work. For knowledge of prehistoric settlement in the vicinity of copper mines, we needto focus on the wider area. For purposes of this work was created an area of 15 km around the site. The introduction to the bronze studies in Cambodia

AJ The work is paid to the study of the Bronze Age in the territory of Cambodia. This period is dated from the year 4000. Study of the Bronze Age in Cambodia, located in the lowlands in Southeast Asia, has long been influenced by the fact that the country was in the years 1865 - 1953 French colony. And yet they were the first archaeological excavations of prehistoric loklait made in Cambodia earlier than in other countries in East and Southeast Asia. Representative of the French protectorate in Cambodia Lieutenant Jean Moura, led by a focus on prehistoric monuments, won the research in 1864, stone tools at the site near the river Samrong Sen Chinita. The findings were later moved to study in France. Samrong Sen and the location was again examined in the years 1878-1879. This was practically initiated the study of the Bronze Age in Cambodia. The present study deals with a detailed description of the geography of Cambodia, the composition of the population, society, religion and language peculiarities. The basis of the work is characteristic of the major archaeological sites of the Bronze Age, classifications and technical analysis finds of bronze objects. The work can be seen as a first overview study of the Bronze Age in the territory of Cambodia.

Contacts and communications at the turn of early and middle bronze age. The hilltop fortified site at Bánov near Uherský Brod

The goal of this work is to provide a new focus on the hilltop fortified settlement in Bánov, near Uherský Brod (eastern part of the Czech republic). On the ground of the research in 1948 we present the material culture and confirm the dating of the location typicaly into classical phase of Maďarovce-Věteřov culture. Besides the typological-chronological analysis of ceramics was also characterized pottery technology. The whole work is based on interdisciplinary approach towards material culture. Thanks to this we could focus on archaeological contact studies. We conducted micropetrographical analysis of wide amount of ceramical artefacts. From the provenance research point of view we provided following: determinded the ceramics made Banov settlement (heavy clay ware and fine ware); proved local production of some vessels of "foreign style". Based on the detailed analysis of imported ceramic material, we provided a model hypothesis about the existance of two basic interaction levels, in which was fortified settlement in Banov naturally engaged. We mean the economical contacts (represented by exchange of goods) and social contacts (represented by gift exchange).

Settlement Finds of the Middle to Late Bronze Age Tranzition in the Region of Kroměříž, Moravia

Kultura lužických popelnicových polí na střední Moravě je poměrně dost známá. Období, které tomuto dlouhému úseku předcházelo, není však zcela jasné, přestože od prvních systematických výzkumů uplynulo už víc než půl století. Tzv. keramika s vypnulinami je typická zejména pro vrstvu B a C na Hradisku u Kroměříže. Tématem této práce je rozbor 12 sídlištních lokalit, z nichž devět odpovídá této skupině nálezů. K nim jsou připojeny ještě další tři, jež patří do průběhu střední doby bronzové a kulturně souvisí s tímto vývojem. První nálezy pro tuto práci jsem získal v 70.-90. letech 20 st. a začátkem 21 st., k tomu jsem vypracoval u polykulturních lokalit většího rozsahu Třebětice "Brodička" a "Padělky" (2002) a Zahnašovice "Loučky" (2004) jednoduché postupy, jež odpovídají nedestruktivním metodám systematických povrchových sběrů. Materiál tak můžeme porovnat nejen mezi jednotlivými sídlišti, ale i v rámci jednoho sídliště. Dokumentační, konzervační, kresličské práce jsem prováděl v průběhu studia. Určování nálezů jsem prováděl samostatně podle dostupné literatury, ve sporných případech jsem se obracel na odborníky např. na A.Štrofa. Veškeré tyto práce jsem dělal za podpory Ústavu pro pravěk a ranou dobu dějinnou na FF UK Praha a prof. Dr. Miroslava Buchvaldka. Po vyhodnocení budou nálezy uloženy do sbírek...

Evidences of social and thought structures in the South Bohemian middle bronze age

Cílem diplomové práce bylo přispět k problematice střední doby bronzové v jižních Čechách. Za tímto účelem jsem shromáždila dostupný nálezový fond, který jsem jednotným způsobem zpracovala, zdokumentovala a analyzovala. Ze sledovaného nálezového fondu jsem vyčlenila kategorii nálezů z mohyl a z depotů. U nálezů z mohyl jsem se pokusila rekonstruovat nálezové celky. Podařilo se mi rekonstruovat 149 nálezových celků z mohyl. Tyto celky z mohyl a depoty jsem dále analyzovala. Soustředila jsem se především na typologicko-chronologickou analýzu bronzové industrie, artefaktů ze zlata a jantaru a analýzu skladby jednotlivých celků. Provedené rozbory byly východiskem k datování celků a k rozpracování chronologických horizontů, které jsem mapově zpracovala.

Sources to recognition of the prehistoric settlement of Levý Hradec

The thesis is a literature and archive documents based summary of the settlement development at the Levý Hradec from the Neolithic to the movement of peoples period. It attempts to present structured information on the archaeological excavation on the site and is focused on their relevant contribution to the understaning of the prehistoric site settlement. It puts Levý Hradec into a broader context of the settlement in the region in the respective periods.

Brandýs nad Labem-Vrábí (central Bohemia), a late Hallstatt - early La Tene settlement

My bachelor work is concerned with the archeological finds processing from Late Hallstatt to Early La Tne age. The finds have been discovered during rescue archeological research in poly- cultural residential area in Vrábí- Brandýs nad Labem. The aim of my work is to make systematical and synoptic processing of archeological materials, subsequently explicate the finds and place the residential area in the context of time and place. The emphasis is placed to utilize the findigs with maximum efficiency and to make it possible to compare archeological data from other localities.
