The Media Image of Murder of Otýlie Vranská in the Czech Contemporary Press

The diploma thesis called The Media Image of Murder of Otýlie Vranská in the Czech Contemporary Press is dealing with the analysis of the serious press represented by daily newspaper Národní listy and with the analysis of the tabloid press represented by daily newspaper Expres in the selected period from September 1933 to February 1934. The analysis focuses on the news articles about the murder of Otýlie Vranská. She was murdered on 1st of September 1933, her corpse was quartered and sent to Slovakia in two suitcases − one suitcase was found in Bratislava and second in Košice. Both types of periodicals published 96 articles all together. The diploma thesis is divided into two main parts. Theoretical part, which is focused on definition of the First Czechoslovak Republic's period as well as introducing topics such as criminality and press in the First Czechoslovak Republic. In the end of this chapter there is a presentation of the life and death of Otýlie Vranská from an expert point of view. The second, practical part includes mentioned analysis of the news items, which comes after the definition of the key term: the social construction of reality and the definition of the chosen method: the comparative narrative analysis.
Problematics of three-year old children adaptation to kindergartens

The diploma thesis refers to a specific question of a kindergarten adaptation of three-year old children. The theoretical part covers the characteristics of a three-year old child from the point of view if his/her development level, necessaries of life, socialization, and psychic stability, and studies the coherence between the above-mentioned characteristics and the child's adaptation to a kindergarten. The practice-oriented part maps the most common problems with adaptation of three-year old children and compares the level of successful adaptation of three-year old children in homogenous and heterogeneous classes. Furthermore, this part studies also the interval of child's adaptation to his/her family, mainly the organizational and relationship changes. In the conclusion, the reasoning about possibilities of further use of this study for kindergarten teachers takes place.
Financial analysis of UNIQA insurance company, a. s.

This bachelors thesis deals with a financial analysis of a chosen company that was carried out using public information, mostly annual reports. The goal of the paper is to evaluate the financial health of UNIQA insurance company within years 2011 and 2015. The thesis consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. The first part not only defines the fundamental theory and all the instruments that are crucial for the second part, but also specifies those parts of a financial analysis that are crucial for insurance companies. Apart from information about financial analysis, its users and data sources the work states the most commonly uses methods in the field, particularly the analysis of absolute and relative indicators. The practical part also involves the indicators that are peculiar for the economy of insurance companies, which are more deeply elaborated in a separate chapter. The summary states the evaluation of financial and property-concerning condition of the company as well as the results of financial analysis.

Diagnostics of verbal abilities of children from a linguistic point of view

The bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of verbal subtests of selected Intelligence tests (Analytical Test of Intelligence, Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children, Vana Intelligence Test and Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children). The analysis focuses on the types of verbal abilities and communication skills examined by those tests, and on types of exercises used in the psycho-diagnostics practice. The thesis concentrates on the tests used for diagnostics of verbal abilities in Czech children who are in the age group of up to 12 years. The theoretical part includes basic terms of the theory of Intelligence and Intellect abilities and basic knowledge of child development. The so called pre-school evolution is the most important period because of the child language acquisition and because of the development of communication abilities and skills at the lexical-semantic, morphological-syntactic, phonetic-phonologic and pragmatic levels. The thesis concentrates on the so called younger age evolution as this period is primarily connected with the school maturity / readiness.
