Jakub Hajíček The abstract of dissertation thesis Jirina Popelova and Modern Czech Comeniological Studies This dissertation thesis describes the history of Czech and English comeniological studies i.e. the interdisciplinary studies of life, works and legacy of Jan Amos Komensky. The thesis starts with the real beginning of the studies in the 18th century and depicts the history until the Second World War. There is a specific focus on the second half of the 20th century in which the gradual transition to modern comeniological studies takes place - in previous researches Komensky was understood as a great teacher and also as an author of language textbooks. On the other hand, modern comeniological studies interpret him primarily as an original philosopher and theologian whose pedagogical thinking arises from philosophy. Czech-Slovak perspective is consistently applied, and different accents, approaches and also the value of Czech and Slovak comeniological studies are shown in an interesting way. The emphasis is also put on important personalities who were working in the field of comeniological studies e.g. Ján Kvačala, the founder of comeniological studies as a scientific discipline, Josef Hendrich, the most important Czech researcher of the first half of the 20th century, or also on selected personalities...

Czech National Revival: The Phenomenon of the Society in the 19th/21th century. The goal of the thesis is to map crucial events from the perspective of historical-cultural context, which provoked the beginnings of the Czech National Revival in the Habsburg monarchy during the years 1750-1848. The thesis will focus on the logical result of economic, social and cultural changes in the enlightened Europe, the specific features and conditions of the national revival in Czech lands and the impact of the Habsburg monarchy. Alois Jirásek (1851 - 1930) was an important Czech writer and author of many historical novels and plays. Jirásek's work has always been very popular. After World War II and the onset of communism in Czechoslovakia Jirasek was promoted to the chief authority in interpreting Czech history. The thesis aims to deal with the second life of Alois Jirásek in the 1950's in the context of filmmaking. This thesis will primarily focus on the films Temno (Darkness, 1950), Psohlavci (The Dog Heads, 1955), Jan Hus (1954), Jan Žižka (1955), Proti všem (Against All, 1956) and Ztracenci (Lost Children, 1956).
Role Playing in History Teaching Empirical Analysis of Selected Aspects

1 Abstract This dissertation concludes teaching experience of several years which was dedicated to examining the possibilities of role playing in history teaching. The theoretical part offers an excursion into the area of didactic literature and observes the importance which is attributed to role playing by general teaching methodology, teaching methodology of history, personal and social education as well as drama education. The author focuses especially on recent examples of role playing in history teaching, she comments and interlinks them. The rules and principles for practical usage of role playing in history teaching are provided at the end of the theoretical part. The empirical part describes the progress of two-phase action research realized during the years 2007-2011 at grammar school with four-year study programme. At the beginning of the empirical probe there were two general questions: Can the role playing in history teaching help the development of students' personality? Can the role playing in history teaching help to fulfil the educational goals of history teaching? These were gradually more specified and modified according to the progress of action research. Reflection and Changes of Perception in Dresden Bombing Attack Bachelor's thesis is focused on aerial bombing attack of the city of Dresden and its perception through second half of 20th century, with reflection in media and public opinion from war times till today. It covered the differencies between Germany and Great Britain with regard to their former war status. Thesis help to grasp war reality and its consequences and to order and explain changes in perception of war. Czech feature Films of Horror Genre in Years 1968-1989

This bachelor work deals with the issue of the Czech horror movie in the normalization period when cinematography was significantly affected by censorship as a powerful tool of the establishment of the Czechoslovak communist state. The first chapter is examined horror as the term itself and what this concept represents, then origin of horror genre in the European and Czech backround until it becomes relatively stable and well-established genre of world cinema in early twentieth century. In the second chapter I describe a summary of historical development of institutions of Czech Cinematography and the final third chapter deals with individual films that are either horror movies or have strong horror characters. Part of this Chapter is short preview to period before years 1968-1989, and the following period after the year 1989 to these days. The work focuses on the fiction feature films however an integral part of this horror genre in the Czech background are animation movies as well that are described in a short subchapter.
Uherskobrod Judes and their Culutre at the End of an Era

Bachelor's thesis is devided to two parts when first part is theoretical and its dedicated to history of Uherskobrodských judes and their lives in Uherský Brod during The First republic. In this part I prefer focus on their lives during 30. of 20. century and changes, which year 1939 brought apon them thanks to regime. Second part is practical and is focused at live story of jude Willy Block, who survived nightmares of Second World War in concentration camps and he is one of witness of holocaust.
