Aerospace - Futuristic Aircraft Cockpit Design
Bílek, Jan ; Bartoň, Radek (referee) ; Chudý, Peter (advisor)
This work describes the visualization design of the flight related quantities in a cockpit of a modern light sport aircraft. It focuses on the utilization of the state of the art trends in flight data displays and introduces the innovative implementation of the aircraft's energy state smart clues that reduce pilots' workload. The initial part of the work presents a research into the flight, engine and navigation data presentation on analog instruments, followed by their illustrative depiction in glass cockpits. Within the framework of this thesis, Microsoft Flight Simulator has been used as a source of the flight related data. Final advances in the display design were introduced through the implementation of the synthetic vision system and a visualization of the virtual tunnel in the sky.
Steel Footbridge
Bartoň, Radek ; Šmak, Milan (referee) ; Bajer, Miroslav (advisor)
This diploma thesis contains a study of current composite structure of footbridge and in part II design and assessment of steel structure of footbridge for pedestrians and cyclists placed on current footbridge location. Current footbridge is located on "nábřeží Dukelských hrdinů" in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm. In part I, assessment of the current composite structure of footbridge is done, using ČSN and ČSN EN standards for adjusted static behavior of the structure. Comparison of both assessments is made and also with an original assessment from 1988. In part II, design and assessment of steel structure of footbridge placed on currents footbridge location described in part I is done. The structure was designed as two vierendeels trusses connected with cross beams, supporting concrete bridge deck. 9 variants were examined, differing with truss height and the number of verticals. Detailed design and assessment for parts of the structure is done for the chosen variant.
Android Platform Physics Game
Boszczyk, Radek ; Pečiva, Jan (referee) ; Bartoň, Radek (advisor)
Android is the fastest growing and best selling operating system for mobile devices. This paper briefly describes the history of this system, its possibilities and application programming basics for this platform. It contains a short introduction to physics simulation used in computer games. The paper also includes a detailed description of design and implementation of a mobile game for Android system, based on physics simulation.
Terrain LoD Algorithm Implementation
Radil, Přemek ; Pečiva, Jan (referee) ; Bartoň, Radek (advisor)
This thesis discusses implementation of LoD terrain visualization algorithm Seamless Patches for GPU-Based Terrain Rendering as extension for Coin3D library. It presents procedures which this algorithm uses for displaying large terrain datasets. Entire terrain is composed of patches that are stored in patch hierarchy. Patch hierarchy is traversed during runtime to generate active patches based on observer's position. Each patch consists of predefined tiles and connection strips so it doesn't need to store any geometry. During render of tiles and strips, displacement shader is applied. This thesis also evaluates results achieved in sample application and suggests some modifications to further increase algorithm performance.
Shader Demonstration Using OpenSceneGraph and QT Libraries
Harman, Peter ; Bartoň, Radek (referee) ; Švub, Miroslav (advisor)
Assignment of this work is to zoom in the work with vertex and fragment processor for users. Programs for these processors are called vertex and fragment shaders. They may be written in a various programming languages intended for them (HLSL, Cg...), however in the work is going to be discussed OpenGL Shading Language (GLSL). There are going to be demonstrated this techniques of advanced rendering: Phong shading, Blinn-Phong shading Lambert illumination, Gouraud shading Later on is going to be described work with library OpenSceneGraph, as a library based on OpenGL and its integration with library for generating user's interface. The result is going to be a multiplatform application demonstrating connection between QT and OpenSpaceGraph libraries with integrated tutorial describing whole process of implementation. Theoretical background is going to be included as well.
Automatic Elevation Map Generation from GPS Logs
Dušek, Jan ; Přibyl, Jaroslav (referee) ; Bartoň, Radek (advisor)
This paper examines automatic elevation map generation from GPS  logs. Interpolates data to regular grid, using Cloug-Tocher method for generating smooth C^1 surface. In this paper we propose a tool for automatic elevation map generation. We use OpenStreetMap as our main datasource.
Game for Mobile Devices Using Sensors
Müllerová, Věra ; Bartoň, Radek (referee) ; Láník, Aleš (advisor)
This BSc Thesis was performed during a study stay at the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden. This BSc Thesis concerns itself with a design and implementation of a game named 'Android Orienteering' for mobile devices with an Android operating system. This thesis contains a description of the programming for an Android platform concentrating on domains that were used during the game's implementation. Further a design of the application and a detailed description of the implementation are explained in this thesis. An interesting area of implementation is the use of OpenStreeMap, a work with GPS and Smartphone's sensors. Finally, there is analysis of possible following progress.
Georeferenced Data Visualization on Web-Based Map Interface
Růžička, Štěpán ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Bartoň, Radek (advisor)
The master's thesis is concerned with design and implementation of library extending OpenLayers. For the solution was used JavaScript programming language. Part of this thesis is devoted to description of standards for maintaining and transfering geographic information and to JavaScript map presenting libraries and REST services.
Reimplementation of GIS GRASS
Bartoň, Radek ; Peringer, Petr (referee) ; Hrubý, Martin (advisor)
The geographical information system GRASS has become a standard on the field of geographical phenomenon modeling during its 26 years old lifetime. However, its internal structure follows practices from the date of its creation. This thesis aims to design a possible shape of internal parts modernization using a component architecture and object-oriented design patterns with distributed computing and dynamic languages support in mind. The designed system should stay identical from the user's point-of-view. Design results are proven on a prototype library implementation called the GAL Framework.
Human-Machine Interface Based on Gestures
Charvát, Jaroslav ; Beran, Vítězslav (referee) ; Bartoň, Radek (advisor)
Master's thesis "Human-Machine Interface Based on Gestures" depicts the theoretical background of the computer vision and gesture recognition. It describes more in detail different methods that were used to create the application. Practical part of this thesis consists of the description of the developed program and its functionality. Using this application, user should be able to control computer by gestures of both right and left hands and also his head. The program is primarily based on the skin detection that is followed by the recognition of palms and head gestures. There were used two essential methods for these actions, AdaBoost and PCA.
