Educational program-Drought, without water it is not possible
BROŽKOVÁ, Andrea
The aim of this bachelor's thesis was to create two proposals for an educational programme titled "Drought, or It doesn´t work without water" for the 4th - 5th grade of Czech elementary school (children aged 9 - 12 years) and 9th grade (children aged 14 - 15 years) focused on drought, which could be used in practice by environmental centres' instructors or teachers of science. The content of the literature review in the first part is the definition, history, tools of environmental education (EE in English; EVVO in Czech) and its inclusion of teaching in schools. The second part of the research describes the types, causes, effects of drought and its effect on soil degradation. The next part of the bachelor's thesis describes the origin and proposal of educational programmes, their partial testing and reflection from teachers. The work includes methodical instructions, worksheets and aids to both teaching programmes.
Evidence Based Nursing in internal nursing
ADAMCOVÁ, Eliška
Current situation:Evidence Based Nursing is seen as a new trend in Czech nursing. The appearance of Evidence Based Nursing (further EBN) started to develop hand in hand with Evidence Based Medicine. This term is mainly made known thanks to the nurse education on the university level. EBN not only helps to reduce the hospital costs, improves the patient results, rises the nurse satisfaction, but above all, it rises the quality of the executed nursing care. The diploma thesis is ment to support the development of EMB and its implementation into daily clinical praxis. Research Aim:The main focus of this scientific research is to find out whether the nurses with education on a university level are aware of EBN, whether they can implement the EBN in their daily business and know where to look for proper sources. Further target was to find out whether the nurses without university education can learn how to use the EBN and implement it in the clinical praxis and whether the nursing staff finds the EBN to be useful. To enable the EBN being introduced into the clinical praxis, the next two targets were aimed at the hospital management seeking the approval of the EBN introduction and assurance of the conditions that may help the implementation if EBN. Seven research questions were formed to cover the above mentionned focuses. Methodology:The research was conducted following the principles of quantitative method of data collection and analyses. This study was conducted by means of two thorough interviews. The interviews were conducted as individual and anonymous. Data collection took part from June, 15th until July, 12th 2017 in Jindřichův Hradec Hospital, Plc. Data classification was done via open coding, by means of "pen and paper" method. Following, the individual answers were sorted into graphic charts for the respective cathegory using the SmartArt software. Results:Within the empiric research it was found out that the university graduate nurses are well aware of the Evidence Based Nursing. This knowledge is further reflected in the questions related to the Boole opperators, databases and clinical questions. Among the mentionned databases, we can state PubMed, Medline, ČNB aka Czech National Bibligraphy, Ebsco and Embase. In our opinion, these are the most-known databases in use when searching for the individual proofs. At the clinical question the knowledge of PICOTS and PICo were interchanged what may be a result of limited use of the method. The university graduate nurses would not object to EBN implementation in the clinical praxis, because they see it as perspective. The main obstacle in this step is probably limited knowledge of foreign language that prevents the efficient search for proofs. University graduate nurses were able to state other sources that comprised the proofs verifies by the research activities. The willingness to adopt EBN with nurses without university education was very limited. These nurses follow the tradition, biomedical approach that seems to be sufficient to them and they don't see any prospect in EBN. In our oppinion, this is mainly caused by limited information on EBN available for this undereduated staff. On the other hand, there were several nurses that found some importance and were eager to learn how to implement EBN in their praxis. EBN was found prosperous as well at three managers, who would like to implement the EBN into the nursing praxis and thus support the wider implementation. But generally here the EBN faced most troubles and it was lack of nurses and lack of finance. Conclusion:Finally, the research shows that even though the managers find the EBN fruitful and would like to implement it in the nursing, as well as some employees on the nursing level, the Jindřichův Hradec Hospital has currently not enough finacial resources and personnel to provide sufficient conditions for EBN.
Productivity of environment and colouration of South African birds
Kubíková, Tereza ; Hořák, David (advisor) ; Albrecht, Tomáš (referee)
Understanding the relationships between species traits and the environment is essential for assessment of functional diversity. The variation in avian plumage colouration has attracted much scientific attention for a long time. It is thought that the colouration of birds is a product of interaction between environmental and sexual selection forces. Using two complementary three-matrix approaches (fourth-corner and RLQ analyses) I investigate geographical variation in plumage colouration of birds living along environmental gradient of productivity in South Africa. I suppose that productivity of environment could explain the part of variation in colouration of species at large geographical scales. I compiled information about 14 plumage traits for 649 species. Co- inertia analysis revealed that more vari-coloured species (e.g. with more saturated and vivid plumage), species with carotenoids in feather, blue-green or predominantly black species occur mainly in productive habitats such as moist savannas and woodlands in the north-east of the country. On the contrary pale species (e.g. greyishbrown), whose feathers are brighter (have higher values of brightness), occupy arid habitats in the west. It shows that another pattern such as iridescence, sexual dimorphism and brightness of particular body region exhibit...
Phylogeny of parasitic wasps of Torymidae (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea) and evolution of their life-strategies
Janšta, Petr ; Vilímová, Jitka (advisor) ; Bryja, Josef (referee) ; Melika, George (referee)
The thesis is focused on phylogeny of the family Torymidae (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea) and evolution of their life-strategies. The study consists of general introduction to the phylogeny and classification of the family Torymidae chapter, four published papers in international journals and one manuscript prepared for submission. Firstly, our aim was to figure out the phylogenetic position of Torymidae as well as the position of other chalcidoid families inside superfamily Chalcidoidea (paper I and II). The supermatrix of sequencies of two ribosomal genes (18S rDNA and 28S rDNA) were developed for 649 species of chalcidoid taxa. However, family Torymidae was considered as polyphyletic group with the subfamily Megastigminae unrelated to the subfamily Toryminae (paper I). Monophyly of Torymidae was corroborated in another study (paper II) focused on molecular and morphological characters. We used a web-based, systematics workbench mx database for scoring 233 characters of 300 members of all chalcidoid families. Contrary to our previous only DNA-based study, we revealed also potential sister relationships of Torymidae with Ormyridae+Colotrechninae or Cerocephalinae+Diparinae respectively. Other paper (paper V) was focused on detailed study of Torymidae phylogeny. A total of 5 genes (18S rDNA, 28S rDNA,...
Analysis of the Internal Environment and Dynamics of Heat Flows in a Prefabricated Baťa Semi-Detached House in Zlín
Baroň, Alexandr
The article deals with the research of the family house built in 1946 by the Baťa plant. This semi-detached house is examined in terms of the dynamics of heat flows and the internal environment. The workflow was to create a virtual model of a house and validate it via values obtained from measuring. Danish software BSim was chosen for modeling and simulating the behavior of the examined object. The paper is based on activities from the term paper created in the first semester of doctoral studies and focuses on energy analysis, alternative solutions to energy savings, and the quality of the indoor microclimate. The conclusion presents a commentary of the solved adjustments with the evaluation from the economic point of view.
