The associations between childbirth experience, early mother-child contact and maternal bonding
Gregárková, Hana ; Takács, Lea (advisor) ; Weiss, Petr (referee)
The thesis is aimed at perinatal factors affecting the emotional bond between a mother and a child (boding) during the first weeks postpartum. The literature review is divided into three chapters. The first chapter discusses the childbirth, the experience of childbirth and the factors affecting a subjective evaluation of the childbirth by a parturient. The second chapter follows up with an overview of findings concerning the initial afterbirth moments, and the interaction between a mother and a child during early contact. The third chapter introduces the concept of bonding. It describes its manifestations, possible measuring methods, and factors influencing its quality. The research part analyzes perinatal factors affecting bonding on a sample of 1108 mothers with the use of generalized linear regression. The independent variables are: mode of birth, the evaluation of childbirth experience by mother, and the process of early contact between a mother and a child. The results show that bonding during the first weeks postpartum was not affected by the mode of birth or by the parturient's evaluation of the childbirth experience. A significant effect was found in the occurrence of early contact between a mother and a child; mothers who had contact with the child during the first postpartum hour reported...
Mercury Electrodes as Tools for Voltammetric Determination of Biologically Active Organic Compounds and for Detection of Their Interaction with DNA
Horáková, Eva
The main aim of this work was to use traditional mercury electrodes for the development of voltammetric methods of determination of organic xenobiotics and for the electrochemical study of the interaction between double-stranded deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and these compounds. In relation to my previous research work (conducted in the framework of my diploma thesis), firstly, 4-nitrobiphenyl (4-NBP), the suspected carcinogen, was studied. Interaction of DNA with 4-NBP was studied using differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), cyclic voltammetry (CV), and chronocoulometry at a hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE), and using CV and alternating current voltammetry at a DNA modified HMDE. Using CV, the reduction mechanism was investigated. The interaction of DNA with 4-aminobiphenyl (4-ABP), a metabolite of 4-NBP, and 4-NBP reduction intermediates was studied. It was found that the interaction of DNA with 4-NBP or 4-ABP results in a formation of a DNA aggregate with these analytes. The second studied analyte was methyl violet 2B (MV). For determination of MV in a buffered solution were used: direct current tast polarography and differential pulse polarography at a dropping mercury electrode, and direct current voltammetry, DPV, and differential pulse adsorptive stripping voltammetry (DPAdSV) at HMDE. The...

Fossil record of bats in Europe: survey of primary evidence.
Trávníčková, Eva ; Horáček, Ivan (advisor) ; Benda, Petr (referee)
The present thesis provides updated survey of fossil record of bats (Mammalia, Chiroptera) in Europe. Main part of this paper is systematic overview, which is divided to individual nominal taxa and lists the details on their particular records (locality, stratigraphic position, reference). Excerption of 224 literary sources revealed 1108 primary records representing at least 200 species, 50 genera and 18 families. Essential significance of the fossil record for studies on history of European bats is emphasized. Representation of particular taxa, reliability of their fossil record and the factor influencing their appearance in the fosil record are discussed.

Účinky ředidla na aminovou extrakci kyseliny sírové
Procházka, Jaroslav ; Heyberger, Aleš ; Volaufová, Eva
In the present work aqueous sulfurid acid was extracted with trialkylamine dissolved in mixtures of tributyl phosphate and de-aromatized kerosene and in pute TBC. The "physical" extraction of the acid with TBF was also determined. The experiment were done at 25°C. The equilibrium acid concentrations in both phases and the content of co-extracted water in organic phase were measured.
Práce by měla posloužit k pochopení specifik v komunikaci této firmy.
