Proving a negative

This thesis deals with the subject of proving negatives, i. e. proving non-existence of an object, a status or a process. The author of the thesis provides the reader with the definition of a negative and with a list of negatives mentioned in the case law of Czech public authorities. Also, the author analyses selected case law of Czech courts and describes proving negatives in specific cases. The thesis is divided into six chapters. The first chapter provides the definition of a negative. In this chapter the author points out potential problems linked to the identification of a negative, especially to the difference between a fact, a negative statement and a legal assessment. The second one addresses the possibility of a negative becoming the subject of proving as a practical way of finding of facts. The chapter also brings a brief analysis of proving a negative abroad, specifically in Slovakia, the Great Britain and the United States of America. The third, the fourth and the fifth chapter deal with the subject of proving negatives in civil proceedings, administrative proceedings and criminal proceedings respectively. Destiny of party switchers in the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic

The aim of this thesis is to analyse party switching in the Czech political system, to describe its reasons and consequences with particular emphasis on further activity of party switchers after their switch. The thesis especially deals with the situation in the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic from 1996 to 2010. In the theoretical part, the stress is put on making relevant terminology more coherent and also on clarification of definitions related to party switching (relevant political subjects, possible types of switches etc.) Also, there are mentioned different ways of perception party switching according to politicians, media and the professional public, both Czech and foreign. In the empirical part, focused on the reactions of political subjects and voters towards party switching, there is a comparison of amounts of preferential votes gained in elections and placement on the slates based on the data provided by the Czech statistical office for each elections. Práce představuje programovací jazyk Python jako nástroj pro výuku algoritmizace a programování. Pomocí průzkumu zkoumá vhodnost Pythonu pro tento účel. I na jeho základě konstatuje, že ho pro něj je možné použít. Popisuje jeho historii, charakteristiky a specifika vůči jiným jazykům. Vypočítává nástroje, editory a vývojová prostředí, které je s ním možné použít ve výuce, a konstatuje, že jich existuje dostatek. Obsahuje ukázky a příklady, které demonstrují jeho možná použití.
VoIP - new way of communication

The subject of this bachelor thesis is IP telephony as a new way of communication capable of replacing the current analogue telephony adequately. The aim is to introduce the VoIP environment, principles and also its real use. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part is focused on the above mentioned environment as well as on used layers and protocols of OSI and TCP/IP models. The second part looks into the VoIP technology itself, from voice digitalization to voice transfer using various protocols. Discussed is older signalization protocol H.323 and its successor SIP. Furthermore the chapter examines various VoIP types and threads to VoIP as well as terms like QoS or ENUM. The third part contains a case study of implementing VoIP in practise. The case study shows matters that need to be taken into consideration when implementing this technology but mainly reveals how much can be saved per month, how big is the initial investment and its rate of return.
