Analysis of GSM network, using open source SW radio
Kilian, Petr ; Koutný, Martin (referee) ; Šilhavý, Pavel (advisor)
This master thesis is focused on analysis and creation of GSM network, using open-source projects. For such creation is used software defined radio – in this thesis kit USRP1 which uses OpenBTS with GNURadio. As a switchboard is used PBX Asterisk and for testing GSM network was used OsmocomBB (on Motorola C123) and Airprobe (on Nokia 3310) projects. Installation and implementation are part of this thesis. In thesis have been also created two scripts for simplify of the work with projects and one laboratory task.
Optimization of digital switching fields
Mikéska, Marek ; Šilhavý, Pavel (referee) ; Kapoun, Vladimír (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on the features description of electronics switches for digital switching arrays and on the design of program for optimal calculation of switching points and the figure of switches in digital switching arrays investigation. The electronics switches types, used for time circuit separation, are described in the preamble. These switches are the base of digital switching arrays and in principal two types are defined: the switch S and switch T. The switch S allows the interconnection only of the same channel intervals from incoming circuit with random outgoing circuit. The switch S is being used in multistage switching arrays in combination with the switches T because it can not be used separately. The switch T allows exchanging the time position of incoming circuit to different time position of outgoing circuit depending on connection needs. The time switch can substitute the space switch under specific work conditions. In practice, the time switch with controlled reading and writing is used. The following part of diploma thesis is focused on the designs and calculations of optimal switching points of digital switching array which is the executive unit of switching systems. These systems directly interconnect the signals from digital multiplexes and make the basic assumptions for telecommunication networks integration. The digital switching array means the equipment which is able to connect the channels of digital multiplexes carrying the information in encoding form. The multiplexes are the most often with pulse coded modulation or adaptive delta modulation. The digital switching arrays are divided into the time and space one. The switching arrays of digital switching systems can be made by time switching array T whose realization is limited to specific capacity or by the connection of multistage arrays. Single stages sequenced one behind each other are made by the switches T and S. The space array S does not allow making the digital switching array of switching centre. The program which determines possible proposals of switching arrays from defined figure of inputs and calculates the optimal figure of switching points and switches is a part of diploma thesis.
DOCSIS Technology in Access Networks
Pirohanič, Lukáš ; Šilhavý, Pavel (referee) ; Horváth, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis explains the design and implementation of data communication between a central unit and a cable modem. Suitable transfer medium and intermediate devices for signal forking and amplification are chosen in practical part of the work. The upstream and downstream channel transfer rates are tested using modulation techniques and also testing the DOCSIS Network for qualitative parameters and laboratory task dealing with the DOCSIS standard. The theoretical part describes DOCSIS standard, CATV network architecture and signal modulation during transmission.
RFID chips reader with AVR microcontroller
Vaníček, Aleš ; Daněček, Vít (referee) ; Šilhavý, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with design and practical realization of a simple reader module, RFID chips. In the first part of the thesis focuses on the theory of RFID system, which tries to outline the basic principles of automatic identification of goods or persons using RFID. The second part is focused on the implementation of a device that operates at 13.56 MHz HF band, and supports the standards ISO 14443 and ISO 14443B.
Signalling system No. 7 implementations for Asterisk
Janíček, Martin ; Krajsa, Ondřej (referee) ; Šilhavý, Pavel (advisor)
Semestral project describes signaling system number 7, it's settings options and options of signaling over IP networks, especially two transport protocols SCTP and BICC for signaling SS7 over IP. Analyses kinds of implemetations of this signaling system to the Asterisk PBX with TDM E1 card support. Further part of this work is dedicated to the open source implementations libss7 of Digium and chan_ss7 which is currently developed by Dicea. Describes in detail their installation to the open source PBX Asterisk including testing of both and comparing these two open source solutions. Last part is focused on realization of gateway which converts communication from TDM network to IP network. For this part, three computers are used. First as SS7 signalling end softswitch, second as SIP signalling end softswitch and last as gateway between them. This gate works as interface between SS7 signalling and SIP signalling. Testing call was realized successfully for both directions.
Experimental mobile network based on open-source projects
Efler, Jan ; Šedý, Jakub (referee) ; Šilhavý, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the realization of an experimental mobile network using open source projects. To implement GSM network was used kit USRP1 which uses YateBTS with GNURadio. To call connection is used PBX Yate. Installation and configuration are part of this thesis.
Real-Time Data Exchange technology and its applications
Meluzín, Ivo ; Šilhavý, Pavel (referee) ; Krajsa, Ondřej (advisor)
Bachelor ‘s thesis target the analysis of the Real-Time Data eXchange technology. There are mentioned some preferences for using kit development of TMS320C6416 DSK invented by Texas Instruments Inc., in the way of signal porcessing with help of some software applications. On these basis, there is built a model in Simulink. Sequentially, we activate whole system, which is running on developer‘s kit for methods of counting, processing and reading data from interface RTDX.
Implementation of application that demonstrates mobile application vulnerabilities
Šrůtková, Karolína ; Šilhavý, Pavel (referee) ; Martinásek, Zdeněk (advisor)
This master thesis is focused on an implementation of application for Android operating system that demonstrates mobile application vulnerabilities. Theoretical part contains security of mobile applications and its current state including a description of the biggest security risks and vulnerabilities. In addition, general development of mobile applications for Android is mentioned. In a practical part of the thesis a custom design of the application is described including vulnerabilities analysis, design of basic application blocks and selection of suitable tools for implementation. The section describing the implementation of the application describes the preparation of the environment, the structure of the created application and especially its implementation. The last part contains an example of implemented application vulnerabilities and also the result of its testing.
Inverter 12 V DC to 230 V AC with Protection
Navrátil, Petr ; Šilhavý, Pavel (referee) ; Kubánek, David (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with converter, which alters 12 V of direct input Voltage to 230 V of alternating Voltage output with frequency of 50 Hz. Introduction describes the basic parting of convertors. The chosen concept of designed convertor was based on that chapter. The practical part describes construction of this convertor including necessary safety shielding. At the end, the construction of the converter was tested by practical measuring and it was proven that the result meets with required values with slight anomaly.
SIP security
Tůma, Petr ; Šilhavý, Pavel (referee) ; Ježek, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on security issues of the SIP signalling protocol. The goal was to carry out three attacks and design defences against them. The chosen attacks were a flood attack, a modified message attack and a man-in-the-middle attack. The attacks were conducted against the Asterisk PBX and the results show that some attacks were able to prevent communication between the PBX and clients. Defensive measures are described for each attack in the mitigation subchapter.
