Tetrahedra and their properties

This diploma thesis Tetrahedra and their properties summarizes the basic properties of tetrahedron. The main goal is to introduce the topic to a reader of this thesis. Author would like to provide basic information about the particular types of tetrahedra and their properties. I try to examine there a spatial analogy of selected terms of a triangle. Conditions for the existence of the orthocenter of a tetrahedron are derived. Then for a non-orthocetric tetrahedron the Monge point as its generalization is introduced. By most properties their proofs are given. In the final part worksheets for pupils of primary and secondary schools are designed. Pictures in the thesis are created in a geometrical program called GeoGebra 3D. These pictures can help the reader to understand this problem.

The picture of Brasil in czech press

The diploma thesis "The Picture of Brazil in Czech Media" focuses on finding out and defining of how the Czech media reprezented by four national dailies Hospodářské noviny, Lidové noviny, Mladá fronta DNES and Právo inform about Brazil. The researched sample are texts about Brazil that the four dailies have published during the year 2011. All 1635 texts that were published in this year were subjected to content analysis. By using quantitative content analysis, this thesis identifies the frequency of the publishing of texts about Brazil, their topical focus, lenght or placement within the newspaper. Other researched phenomena are sources, division according to genre, news and commentary or hard news and soft news. The character and number of texts focusing on both countries testifies to the possible closeness of Brazil and the Czech Republic. The thesis places special focus on the evaluation of Brazil in individual texts. The qualitative analysis mainly researches the possible elements of stereotyping in the language of Czech media. The results of these analyses are ilustrated further by the results of a questionnaire research. Efficiency Analysis of Grammar Schools in the Czech Republic

This thesis aims to assess the technical efficiency of grammar schools in the Czech Republic. We analyze a sample of 263 grammar schools (out of 362) and use data of cohort that graduated in 2012. We adopt a two-stage approach to efficiency analysis. In the first stage, efficiency scores are obtained through the data envelopment analysis under different returns to scale assumptions. The average efficiency of Czech grammar schools is 92% if variable returns to scale are considered. In the second stage, the efficiency is related to school and environmental characteristics using a Tobit regression. Our results suggest that the percentage of female students has a positive effect on efficiency as well as the school size and the share of students attending the 6 or 8 year study program. On the contrary, schools offering a vocational program along with a grammar school program are found to be less efficient. We have not found evidence that the share of not qualified teachers, yearly salary per teacher, state/private status, size of the town in which a school is located or any other environmental variable affect efficiency. 1

Significant points in a triangle

The bachelor thesis Significant points in a triangle summarizes the basic points of a triangle and their properties. Students learn about these points at elementary and high schools. There are lot of interesting points in a triangle which are not part of the curriculum at the university. I try to examine the properties of selected points and connections among them, for example Fermat point, Nine-point circle, Euler line or Napoleon triangle. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to make readers acquainted with these selected points and prove some of their properties. Pictures in the thesis are created in a geometrical program called GeoGebra. These pictures can help the reader to understand this problem.

Potsdam Conference and its media image in Czech Period Newspapers

The bachelor thesis "Potsdam conference and its media image in Czech period newspapers" focuses on the way how chosen newspapers, specifically Rudé právo (the official newspaper of Communist Party), Mladá fronta (newspaper of Czechoslovak Union of Youth), Lidová demokracie (official newspaper of Czechoslovak people's party), Svobodné noviny (newspaper of Association of cultural organizations) and Právo lidu (the official newspaper of Czechoslovak social democratic party) informed about the topic of Potsdam conference during the period from june till september 1945. The conference significantly affected post- war reconstruction of the world. The paper focuses mainly on the way how newspapers dealed with the limited information about the meeting and the discussed topics. The paper is also interested in circumstances of the Potsdam conference and its impact on Czechoslovakia.

Outdoor Studies Student's Tendency to Sensation Seeking in Relation to Their Personality Characteristics

Title: Students' tendency to sensation seeking in relation to their personality characteristics. Objectives:. The diploma thesis deals with the topic of sensation and his seeking at students of study programme or study field Outdoor Activities. A survey of personality characteristics and their influence on tendency to gaining sensations, was the main objective of this work. A sensation is still current topic of nowadays' society. A tendency to its seeking is at some individuals higher and the goal of this thesis is looking for personality characteristics, which could this increasing determine. Methods: Used methods for the research were chosen with regard to required characteristics of examined sample (corpus?) and required conclusions. For detection temper charactertics was chosen test NEO-FFI and for tendency to gain sensations was chosen the test of interests and hobbies. Results: When comparing examined samples of students of Outdooractivities among Charles University and University of J. E. Purkyně in Ústí nad Labem were not find any significant differences. Therefore we have worked further as with homogenous file and compared its results with population average.
