This graduation thesis describes and explicates the phi losophical system of Karl R. Popper by following analysis of primary and secondary literature. In the fi rst place it is focused on Popper's concept of the open society and looks for a philosophical premises and principles for civi l society and civil sector. The main aim of this theoretical paper is to show possible premises of civil sector in Karl Popper's work and focused on the status of individual in democrat ic society.
