The isolation of an individual and a working group within an organisation

This thesis deals with isolation of individuals and workgroups within an organization. Isolation of the individual is here seen to be associated with its ability to adapt to working environment. Also pay attention to factors that can contribute significantly to the isolation of the individual and those are conflicts within the working group and poor workplace relations. The next section describes the essence of formation of isolation of a working group, which may be based on processes that are reasonably necessary for the functioning of the group, in its extreme extent, may have a negative effect on the group. Isolation should be seen as an impulse for change, which is closely related to the ability of learning. For this reason, the work also included the issue of organizational change, education of individuals and the use of creative techniques. These procedures can also serve as a prevention of isolation. I included my practical knowledge in this area in a case study that describes the situation in the working group, which is already in isolation and in connection with the phenomena that occur in this group, some members feel isolated. Financial incentives as motivating factors for employees

5 ABSTRACT This bachelor thesis is focused on the influence of the tangible rewards on the motivation to work. Moreover, the intangible rewards are important elements as well, so they are both described in the separated chapters. The different approaches of various authors who follow up the topic of influencing performance are introduced. It also deals with the goals and tasks of reward system in a company. The main principles of rewarding, which are significant for the goal achieving, are summed up. Attention is also paid to the role of the total reward concept and its advantages. In the empirical part of the thesis, the questionnaire survey results are presented. Its aim was to find out how the employees of private business organisations perceive the influence of tangible and intangible rewards on their motivation to work. The purpose was to analyse the conditions under which workers prefer the tangible inducements to the intangible ones. Occupational stress and coping strategies

The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis focuses on the general concept of stress and its biological and psychological aspects. There are defined the specific signs of occupational stress, operating stressors and other context. Attention is also paid to coping strategies; the thesis presents some well-known theories of coping and their description. The thesis also deals with methods of research in the field of stress and coping strategies and it also presents basic information about the target group of assistants, who play an important role in the practical part of the thesis. The practical part of the thesis consists of case studies of workers on assistant positions. The case studies investigate the nature of their work and following stressors, subjective assessment of work-related stress and preference of coping strategies. In the final discussion, there are defined common features identified in case studies and they are confronted with theoretical background. Work-Life Balance and its influence to individuals' leisure time

This thesis explores the balance between work and personal life and its impact on individuals' leisure time. The first part begins with a discussion of the issues surrounding work-life balance and then focuses on the phenomenon of leisure and its importance in the lives of individuals. In order to contextualize this discussion, this thesis presents the relevant theories in the field and identifies their role in the development of leisure time in relation to work. Folowing part examines the concept of work-life balance in organizations and identify the different means of realization, such as flexible work arrangements and employee benefits. Also included is an empirical study that is carried out through a questionnaire survey. This investigation is focused on the influence of work and its aspects on leisure time and work-life balance of university-educated individuals who are currently employed. This empirical study should contribute to a better understanding of the relationship between work and personal life regarding individuals leisure time. The motivation of non-professional musicians from the conductor's perspective

This bachelor thesis: The motivation of non-professional musicians from the conductor's perspective deals with motivation in amateur choirs. First, overview of relevant information about motivation from literature will be provided, in particular how it works and how to use it for effective stimulation in leading a choir. The importance of leisure education and its specifics and possibilities will be demonstrated to explain how it works in amateur choirs. The psychological aspect of conductor's work is also significant, with focus on the personality of musicians, specifically conductors and choir members. The choirmaster also has a set of tools, which will be mentioned in this thesis, that influence the motivation of the choir. Objective of this work is to provide conductors with deeper insight into the issues of leading and appropriate motivation of musicians, to fulfil demanding requirements that are coming from all sides. This work is enriched by field research - interviews with five conductors and a survey of choir members. Conductors present their ensembles and their point of view on what is important in their work to become successful. The questionnaire focuses on motivation of choir members. This all contributes to deeper understanding of the conductor's job and gives suggestions and hints...
Couple Relationships in the Workplace

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of couple relationships at work, it pays attention to those relationships when both a boyfriend and a girlfriend or married couples meet each other at the same workplace. The aim is to find out how people in this case reflect the interactions between professional and private life. First part of the thesis describes important concepts and theories. Author of the thesis analyses interpersonal relationships in the first place, she shows how they are treated in literature and what is the effect of the relationships to the organisation functioning. At the same time she mentions relating researches both from abroad and the Czech Republic. The author's own research is also a part of the bachelor thesis. Based on 16 interviews with respondents, who are in a relationship while working together, the author comes with a summarization of their ideas about a relationship with someone from work, she describes its particularities from the view of the participants themselves, and she also notes that such relationships seem to be less problematic than it is presented in the specialized literature.
Education of Roma Women as a Tool of the Social Change

This thesis introduces Romani women as an eligible target group for the lifelong learning and emphasizes the role of women when trying to initiate social change in Roma communities. Education of Roma women can be effective and have a significant impact on the entire Roma community in case that it is implemented considering their role and position in communities, their socio economic status and their ethnicity. The thesis focuses on the current situation of the Roma minority and especially Roma women in the Czech Republic. It presents an image of Roma women, portrays the context of her life as well as the concept of multiple disadvantages Roma women face. It examines the role of education in the pursuit of social inclusion and empowerment of women and provides examples of successful initiatives from several countries. The last chapter provides advice for any future educators of this specific target group, how to plan and implement the education.
The role of family background in preventing burnout syndrome

This diploma thesis deals with significant factors of burnout prevention and burnout causes out of the perspective of a person that is in danger of burnout and out of the perspective of one's surroundings. The aim of this thesis is to describe the influence of family background as a key component of one's social support. The thesis deals specifically with function of original and newly set family in burnout prevention and finds different aspects that can be crucial for prevention of burnout. The core of empirical part of this thesis is research on the influence of a family on burnout syndrome and description of this possible influence. Specification of Employment of Persons with Autistic Spectrum Disorder

This thesis describes the specifications of employing people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The main goal is to formulate recommendations for managers and HR workers regarding adaptation of the HR processes, workplace environment and management methods to the specific needs of employees with ASD. This is achieved through the qualitative research using the methods of interview with participants of Autism@Work project together with analysis of additional resources. This thesis offers characteristic of people with ASD in the work context including the analysis of the current situation of people with ASD on the labour market and providing the best practice examples of supporting projects focusing at this target group. Process of Recruitment and its Relation to the Perception of the Organization by Graduate Candidates

The diploma thesis deals with recruitment process in organizations and its perception by graduate candidates. The aim of the diploma thesis is to identify factors in recruitment process that graduate candidates perceive as relevant for making judgments about the organization. Firstly, the thesis introduces a framework of knowledge in the area of recruitment process, its strategy and methods complemented by ethical standards and employer branding conception. Characteristics of the target group of candidates are also introduced with emphasis on Generation Y specification, as graduate candidates are part of this group. Significant part of the work is represented by current findings on the topic of candidates' perception of the recruitment process and factors that are positively or negatively influencing their perception of the organization. Empirical research with mixed research design is also a part of this thesis, and its aim is to investigate the recruitment process in relation to both candidates and HR professionals, to get a holistic view on the topic.
