Majorová, Nikola ; Hník, Ondřej (advisor) ; Smrčka, Jiří (referee)
Činoherní studio in Ústí nad Labem is a theatre founded in the 1970s; ever since its foundation, it has displayed specific dramatics features. Czech playwright and director Jiří Pokorný became its artistic director in 1993 and it was his aim to perform contemporary, unique and most importantly Czech plays; all the dramaturgic plan for the 1990s was therefore adjusted to this aim. Moreover, he decided to perform his own plays; these plays were considered to be the very first Czech coolness drama texts and as such contributed greatly to the penetration of this specific poetics on Czech theatre stages. This thesis both characterises and interprets the plays performed by the end of the 1990s and therefore reflects the distinctive dramaturgic course which had not had parallel in the Czech Republic up to this period.

Baloušová, Lucie ; Smrčka, Jiří (advisor) ; Píšová, Ina (referee)
The diploma thesis focuses on small scene theaters which developed in the 1950s and represent a unique generational movement within the Czech cultural framework. This final project aims to describe the distinctive poetics of two of the Czech small theaters - the theatre Semafor and Studio Ypsilon. The description itself is based on the analysis of the original dramatic texts produced by their main representatives, Jiří Suchý and Jan Schmid. The thesis opens with the domain of the small scene theaters as such, its definition and characteristics. In order to provide a comprehensive perspective on the matter, the authorial theater and its specifics is further discussed. The main part of this thesis then concentrates on the origins of the two theaters, their profiles during the period of 1960s to 1990s and, eventually, their present form. Finally, despite the different conditions of existence of the two theaters, and the cultural, historical and political context, a comparison of the two poetics is proposed. Mládková, Nela ; Janoušek, Pavel (advisor) ; Mocná, Dagmar (referee) ; Smrčka, Jiří (referee)
The theme of the thesis named Dramatization of Olbracht's Nikola Šuhaj loupežník is focused on the secondary life of Olbracht's prose on Czech stages, in film and in other media as well. The interpretation begins with the recapitulation of circumstances of the creation and the initial reception of the novel and from its analysis related to the genre, language, style and composition, and proceeds with analyses of the individual dramatizations, created primarily by Peter Ulrich (LP Nikola Šuhaj loupežník, 1974; Nikola Šuhaj loupežník, Ateliér 1975; Koločava, Městské divadlo Brno 2011) or by Milan Uhde (Balada pro banditu, Divadlo na provázku 1975 and 2005; film 1978). Special attention is paid to the fact that the key dramatizations of Olbracht's Nikola Šuhaj loupežník worked with music and songs in their theatre adaptations and they used them as a means of expression that intensified the lyrical passages and allowed to transfer the poetics of the given literary model into a very impressive contemporary theatre form. The aim of the thesis is to show in what ways those who dramatized and staged the models kept transferring the story of Olbracht's novel into different social situations (or other cultures), while endeavouring to take advantage of the story in order to depict current problems of their...
