Lustig, Hubert ; Spurný, Matěj (advisor) ; Rákosník, Jakub (referee)
The subject of the thesis is to examine the understanding and function of the concept of socialist legality in the 1970s in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. The first part of the thesis focuses on the more general view of legal scientists and their construction of the concept of socialist legality and its contemporary functions. The second part conducts research on the General Prosecutor's Office of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic as a specific institution that was supposed to guard socialist legality, taking into account the conclusions of the first part and comparing the theoretical scientific debate and the practices of the specific state authority. For this institution, emphasis is also placed on the attitude towards activities that were perceived as non-conformist in terms of the political system of the time. In the context of the position of the supporters of these, from the point of view of the regime, non-conformist attitudes, it will therefore be a question of reviewing the limits of socialist legality and, on a more general level, its real function, which the ruling establishment pursued through its frequent accentuation.

Roubíková, Petra ; Kuklík, Jan (advisor) ; Kindl, Vladimír (referee) ; Rákosník, Jakub (referee)
Social legislation in Czech lands in the years 1918 - 1948 Abstract The dissertation deals with the theme of social legislation in the period of 1918-1948. i.e. during the so called First, Second and Third Czechoslovak republic. However, the foundations of the Czechoslovak laws in this area lays in the period of Austrian laws, especially from the second half of the 19.th century. Development of social legislation was directly conected with the existence of a legal regulation of modern municipal self-government and higher levels of self-government. Two very important acts were adopted in this respect: Act No. 18/1862 The empire's code implemented on 5th March 1862 "The Act on Municipal matters" and on 3rd December 1863 Act. No. 105/1863 The empire's code "The act about Domestic rights". For poor relief the "The Poverty act" (Act No. 59/1868 The provincial code) was enacted on 3rd December 1868. Based on the social policies of "stick and carrot" of Otto von Bismarck in Germany, the Austrian Government enacted series of Acts on health and other types of social insurance systems, which were not universal, but had differences for different types of workers and employees, for example for miners, factory workers or white collars. Because the Act No. 11/ 1918 Coll. of laws transferred practically all existing...
Prague Care of Orphans and Abandoned Children in the First Half of the 20th Century
Fremrová, Květa ; Čechurová, Jana (advisor) ; Rákosník, Jakub (referee)
The master thesis investigates the care of orphans and abandoned children paying special attention to how the care was executed in Prague in the 1st half of the 20th century. First, the thesis describes the general development of care of these children and of legislation. It then focuses on Prague social care of children. The orphans and abandoned children could be provided either in foster families (this form of care was more frequent) or in orphanages. Prague children were often placed outside of Prague to the so called family colonies, where the foster families were concentrated and where it was easier to control the quality of care those children attained in foster families. The other option was care in orphanages. Those could be established by the city, by the church or by an independent charity association. For each option I chose one Prague orphanage as an example. I also tried to describe the everyday life in these institutions. The last chapter focuses on the period view on advantages and disadvantages of both forms of care. Keywords: orphans, abandoned children, social care, Prague, children's homes, foster care, family colonies
