Drug policy of czech republic: myths and dearly paid reality

The thesis aims to make reader acquainted with basic principles of economical theory applied to drug prohibition and to describe the substance of government based on reducing reducing drug offer in Czech republic. Affinity between expenses and resulting effects that prohibition bears is being analyzed based on available data. We can notice that tax payer pays not even for battle against drug dealing , but even for drug addict healthcare, lawsuits penitentiary , whereas effects of these correctional measurements might be weak.

Regulation of tobacco advertising

Our first task will be return to the history of the USA. We will look back at trends in tobacco advertising regulation during the history, we will identify causes of this regulation and reaction of economical subjects at it. We will compare the situation of tobacco advertising and sponsorship in the European Union with regulation in the Czech Republic. Our next step will be discovering consumption trends and complexity of anti-tobacco policy in different countries within the EU. Main purpose of my work is to assess whether the regulation of tobacco advertising reached its goals. We will try to point out some falsehoods about the necessity of this regulation. We will evaluate influence of tobacco advertising on young people. We will do our best to answer the question, whether the bann of tobacco advertising has a direct impact on consumption of tobacco products. We will compare consumption of tobacco products in counties, where tobacco advertising is banned with countries, where tobacco advertising has not been prohibited. The conclusions of international studies, which deal with this topic, will be our main source of information. The economical aspects of tobacco advertising regulation and its real impact on economy will be our next object of observation. At last we will identify other effects of regulation.

DRUG POLICY YESTERDAY, TODAY AND TOMORROW -- THE ANALYSIS OF FUTURE IMPACT OF NEW CZECH PENAL CODE

This thesis refers to the drugs policy applied in the past as well as at the present time in the world, especially in the Western countries, and with emphasis on the Czech Republic. Its aim is to prognose future development of this policy. The theoretical part of the thesis attends to the relation between economics and law, or more precisely economics and crime, and it it describes the contemporary Czech drugs legislation, and outlines its former development. The objective task of the other part of the thesis is to analyse prospective consequences of the new Czech Penal Code. This thesis is inspired, in particular, by the Impact Analysis Project of New Drugs Legislation.

Práce se zabývá problematikou nájemního bydlení v České republice, především oblastí státních intervencí do trhu s nájemními byty. Snaží se zmapovat současnou situaci, analyzovat dopady probíhající deregulace. V první části aplikuje ekonomickou teorii na problém regulace nájmů, tedy stanovení maximální ceny na trhu s nájemním bydlením. Dále je charakterizován trh s bydlením a analyzovány důsledky regulace nájemného. Poslední část je věnována podrobnému rozboru ekonomických a sociálních dopadů procesu deregulace nájmů.

Fat tax - the tool in the battle against obesity

Object of this thesis is fat tax. Thesis analyses theoretically causes and effects of substantial increase of obesity in last decades. It looks on the justifiability of state's intervation to the market for the reason of increasing rate of obesity and analyses pretexts for this intervation. It suggests the ideal solution of the obesity problem. It denominates the main tools of state, by which state combat against obesity and focuses theoretically and practically on the fat tax. It analyses the benefits and costs of the fat tax and comments the effectiveness of this tax on the model studies. In last chapter it analyses dependence between the fat tax and the rate of obesity in the USA.

Ekonomie, stát a drogy

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá státní drogovou prohibicí. Popisuje historické souvislosti jejího vzniku, sleduje, jaké dopady mělo její zavedení na chod společnosti a zkoumá faktické důsledky jejího uplatňování. Hlavní pozornost je věnována otázce účinnosti této prohibice a dále pak různým vysvětlením, které nám ekonomie, jako striktně logická a hodnotově neutrální disciplína, může poskytnout pro oblast zkoumání drog, resp. drogové prohibice (např. objasnění vlivu drogové prohibice na zdravotní rizika vyplývající z užívání drog). Na závěr této práce je uveden historický případ alkoholové prohibice v USA ve 20. letech 20. stol.

Position Analysis of the Health Insurance Companies in the Health Service System in CR

The object of the Bachelor's work is to analyze the present position of the health insurance companies in the health system of the Czech Republic. First of all I characterize the particular health service systems existing in the world in my work. Further I am concerned with the health service system in this country, with its development, financing and, especially, with the role of the health insurance companies in this system. A special attention is devoted by me to the health insurance which is the main income of the health insurance companies; and to its redistribution. I analyze problems of the public health insurance system as well as of the health insurance companies. In a further part I deal with the health insurance system in U.S.A. where the health insurance is voluntary and therefore it is set up on a commercial base, whereas the public general health insurance in CR is compulsory. I compare advantages and disadvantages of the health service systems in CR and U.S.A. and on base of this analysis I will prove that the Czech medical service is instable economically; that it comes to wasting as the patient has no choice to choose the care according to the quality and price; it comes to reduction of the availability of medical services; the patients have no possibility of paying extra money for a service of higher quality even if they have enough money for that. At the end on the basis of the analysis of functioning of both these systems I indicate which way the reform of the medical service in this country could proceed.

Regulace ve farmaceutickém průmyslu a její důsledky

Bakalářská práce se zabývá regulací farmaceutického průmyslu, se zaměřením na důsledky této regulace. V úvodu je čtenáři představen farmaceutický trh ? jsou vysvětlena specifika trhu, která jsou udávána jako důvody vedoucí k jeho regulaci. Dále jsou představeni aktéři farmaceutického trhu. Další části jsou věnované právě analýze regulace. Nejprve se zaměřuji na regulaci při schvalování nových léčiv a jejich uvádění na trh (důraz je kladen na organizaci Food and Drugs Administration) a ukazuji, jaké má tato regulace důsledky. Následně je analyzována regulace cen léčiv. Ukazuji, že regulace vede kromě nižších cen léčiv, také k nižší ziskovosti farmaceutických firem, nižším investicím do výzkumu a vývoje, zpoždění při uvádění nových léků na trh či dokonce jejich neuvedení, paralelnímu obchodu s léčivy a neefektivním výdajům ve snaze mu zabránit.

Administrativní zátěž podnikatelů v České republice a její vliv na ekonomiku

Vzhledem k tomu, že Česká republika je často kritizována spolu s Evropskou unií za nadměrnou regulaci podnikatelského prostředí, je cílem mé práce zmapování a zhodnocení administrativní zátěže podnikatelů v České republice. Provedu analýzu podnikatelské zátěže podnikatelů, která vyplývá z právních předpisů.Zjistím náklady, které podnikatelé vynaloží na splnění informačních požadavků a povinností, které jim ukládá stát a dále vliv administrativy Evropské unie na českou legislativu, respektive do jaké míry zatěžují ekonomiku České republiky právní předpisy přenesené z Evropské unie.Vyhledám metody resp. metodiky, které státní administrativa ČR využívá ke snížení administrativní zátěže podnikatelů. Zmapuji a vyhodnotím reformní kroky, které byly provedeny jednak na evropské úrovni a jednak na úrovni České republiky.V rámci Evropské unie se zaměřím na jeden členský stát, který reformy v této oblasti provedl a dále provádí a uvedu srovnání s ČR.

Zásada volného pohybu pracovních sil v EU a její plnění

Hlavním cílem práce je popis současných podmínek migrace pracovních sil v rámci zemí EU. Pět členských zemí si stále chrání své trhy práce před konkurencí z nových členských zemí. Evropská komise hodnotí otevřené pracovní trhy jako ekonomicky pozitivní. Omezování migrace jako jedna z forem státní intervence narušuje svobodnou konkurenci a negativně ovlivňuje užitek subjektů na trhu práce. Imigrační politiky členských zemí jsou spíše v souladu s obecnými zásadami bezpečné imigrační politiky. Svobodná migrace je ekonomicky přínosná, a měla by platit ve všech členských zemí EU.
