The measures of the German government in dealing with the global crisis 2008/2009: The substance, criticism, and impacts
Nikšová, Petra ; Kučera, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Mlsna, Petr (referee)
Germany accounted for one of the worst affected countries in the global economic crisis 2008/2009. The economy was plunging and banks were finding themselves in financial difficulties. German government had to find an opportune and accurate response to this situation. To stabilize the situation the German government used possible measures of the cyclical and growth policies. For this reason, the government enforced the Financial Market Stabilization Act, the first and the second economic stimulus package and the Growth Acceleration Act. These measures focused on the support of the supply and demand in economy. The government had to deal with a numerous critique of professional public, political parties and trade unions. In 2009 the elections took place and the government changed as a result of it. Despite of it the stabilizing measures still continued. The German government managed to enforce the proposed measures and despite of many doubts it was able to stabilize the economic situation. There was a re-growth in 2010. Key words: bank, investment, economy, crisis, Germany
Polish Workers in Czechoslovakia: Unwelcome Friendship: Specific features of temporary labor migration in the socialist system
Klípa, Ondřej ; Kučera, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Uherek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Zahradníček, Tomáš (referee)
Dissertation Title Polish Workers in Czechoslovakia: Unwelcome Friendship Specific features of temporary labor migration in the socialist system Author Ondřej Klípa Summary The aim of the dissertation is to study the case of Polish workers in Czechoslovakia who were employed on conditions set by intergovernmental treaties. Most of them were women. This case had two specific features. First, it was highly regulated by both of the co-operating states. Second, the state bodies tried to control intensively both the workers in order to isolate them from local population and the public discourse of this topic. In this study I argue that both of the features arise from fundamental elements of socialist system, which are "economy of shortage" and totalitarianism. These elements were identified in the work of Hungarian economist János Kornai. Instead of totalitarianism as a coherent concept I use only certain totalitarian practices that were exercised with variable intensity, depending on circumstances. In the dissertation I examine causality between these two fundamental elements (independent variables) and both regulation and control (dependent variables). For this purpose I consider the studied case as a specific model of temporary labor migration in socialist system. The case is also situated in a broader...

Concept of thermal envelope of habitat for extreme environments
Kučera, Jan ; Charvát, Pavel (referee) ; Katolický, Jaroslav (advisor)
Various types of stationary and mobile habitats for extreme environments are described in this bachelor thesis. Description is focused on structure of heat envelope and its thermal resistance. The thermal envelope with influence of thermal bridges with the way to calculate and quantify this phenomenon and its influence on thermal loss by heat transfer is described in second part of this thesis. In third and last part of this thesis is designed deployable habitat for which is calculated thermal loss by heat transfer. After calculating heat loss, the panel joints are analysed in Therm software for calculating linear thermal transmittance of its detail. After all the thermal loss by heat transfer with influence of thermal bridges is count and compared with loss without thermal bridges.
Methods of measuring in the Universe
KUČERA, Jan
The work deals with distance measuring in space. The first part is about evolution of space arrangement and dimension imaginations from ancient times until the 20th century. Also Aristarchos´ heliocentric model of the solar system is described in detail, including his quantitative estimates of the Moon and Sun distances and dimensions. Hipparchos´ and Ptolemaios´ geometric models are described in detail too. Great attention is given to a genesis of heliocentric theory of Nicolaus Copernicus. The second part deals with contemporary methods of distance measuring. The work proceeds systematically from distances in the solar system to distances between stars as far as to distances between galaxies and quasars. It was necessary to write also about physical principles because distance measuring is based on them. The part of the work is a large pictorial supplement with text comments.
Study of conditions influence on the rate of crack propagation in HDPE
Patzelt, Petr ; Kučera, Jaroslav (referee) ; Petrůj, Jaroslav (advisor)
Theoretical part of the thesis is aimed on the summary of material and testing parameters that influence SCG process and also the duration of FNCT test. The experimental part deals with the comparison of time to crack between two used surfactants – 2% Arkopal N110 and 10% sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate. The temperature during the experiments was 80 °C. The acceleration of the process influenced by solution of sodium dodcelbenzenesulfonate was many times higher against solution of Arkopal. There were tested several HDPE and PP specimens to prove this phenomenon. HDPE specimens used – VB85, VL 20N, PL 10 that were made in UNIPETROL RPA and some other competitive materials were used. PP specimens were developed in labs of Polymer Institute Brno. In additional, another experimental part focuses on evolving the math definition of curves measured within FNCT tests and it is still in progress.
Non-institutionalized political Protest in the GDR and the East Germany: from Montagsdemonstrationen till left- and rightwinged extremism
Fridrich, Tomáš ; Březinová, Monika (advisor) ; Kučera, Jaroslav (referee)
This paper deals with the non-institutionalised political protests in the new federal states beginning of the 1990s. Starting point are the vast experiences, that the population had made with such kinds of demonstrations (massdemonstration of 1989). The paper wants to answer questions with the help of specialist literature dealing with the influence of these experiences on the possibly later non- institutionalised protest and furhter, what kinds of protests one can observe in Eastern Germany during the beginning of the 90s. The 1989-experience is only briefly mentioned in this paper, the core is formed by the analysis of the different non- institutionalised political protest reforms in the new states. The most numerous form of protest appears to be the left- and rightwinged extremism. This paper follows the development which has amounted during the 1990s and mentions certain cases that are connected with extremism. The chapter concerned with rightwinged expremism also deals with its roots of origin that go back to the 1980s. The up-to-dateness of this topic is determined in the last chapter which is concerned with the medial repercussion in the Czech press (journal Respekt).
Language and Reality
Bárta, Ondřej ; Kučera, Jan (advisor) ; Kučera, Rudolf (referee)
This thesis tries to explore how ideologies, namely the national socialism, work. It is based on the presumption that the reality as we experience it, is impacted by the language that we use to describe it. Thus, in accord with the philosophy of Eric Voegelin, it claims that to understand a specific society in its authenticity, it is necessary to examine the means of the language that is used to categorize the world. And it is precisely Voegelins expressions, symbolism and order, that are good instruments to explain the fact that even the nacis created such "reality" that was capable to exclude masses of people from the sphere of moral reciprocity, using a language that refers to a certain view of the world.
