Music stations in czech TV broadcasting and their presenters

This thesis compares two significant music televisions in Czech television broadcasting, MTV and TV Óčko. Also it describes the development and history of the first American music television MTV and also it provides a view to some similar features of the development of the American MTV and the development of the Czech music televisions. Both Czech music televisions are also compared in terms of the program structure. The practical part of this thesis is based on interviews with four presenters of both Czech music televisions. On the basis of these interviews there has been evaluated an attitude of the presenter to their stations, space that they are provided in the broadcasting and also their subjective views on the positions of music televisions in the Czech media market and their comparison with other music televisions.
The transformation of czech TV quiz shows

Main task of this work is to find out the answers to the questions of the television quiz shows genre development. The work deals with foreign countries development, but the main attention is fixed to Czech republic and Czech full-area broadcasting media, which emphasise general matters. Concretely these television companies: Česká televize, Nova, Prima a Barrandov. The work emphasises the problem of formats originality. The time spread is since January 1993 to April 2012. A quiz shows development before 1993 is mentioned, but the analysis does not contain that. The analysis shows four copied quiz shows development. These examples uncover the variations of the quiz shows formats copying and domestication. They reveal the rules of the copying and domestication. They show the transformation of the quiz shows during recent years. The work tries to solve a few questions about the Czech quiz shows and their partial problems. Has the hosts behaviour changed? What about the hosts gender? Is there more men or women in the quiz shows? Is the number of recently broadcasted quiz shows higher than the number of the quiz shows, which were broadcasted nineteen years ago? What about the relation of the quiz shows production and social changes? Have the western models affected Czech quiz shows production? If so,...

This diploma thesis analyses the media image of political party Sdružení pro republiku - Republikánské strany Československa (SPR - RSČ, The Union for Republic - Republican Party of Czechoslovakia), and the media discourse in 1990s. The thesis is focused on analysis of electronic media such as radio and TV talk shows. The time period of the analysis was chosen to capture the period when this political subject was active on Czechoslovak and later on Czech political scene, i.e. 1990-1998. The author discusses the development of the political communication of the party representatives (most of the space is dedicated to media appetence of SPR - RSČ president Miroslav Sládek) and the general political communication in mass media. The goal of the thesis is to analyse the comparison of the media appearance of the party members during the eight years from when the party entered on political scene to its political decline in June 1998. Media construction of statehood: Television scheduling for Czech nationwide television station during public holiday after 1990

Thesis Media constructions of statehood: Television scheduling for Czech nationwide television station during public holiday after 19900 analyzes the composition of Czech national television stations, commercial and public broadcasters in terms of how each station reflect importance of Czech national public holiday and national identity in the program schedule and the numbers and types of programs in the program schedule. For the analysis part was chosen the comparison of data in combination with a questionnaire survey among television viewers. This comparative analysis together with the other theoretical parts of thesis gives a coherent idea of the subject. Results of research and survey have shown that the significance of national public holiday to Czech society or for a television station is not important and is neglected. Only the public Czech Television has included some thematic programs reflecting national public holiday which can be attributed to its social role and responsibility.
New internet humours

Subject of this thesis is a phenomenon of a new digital world - internet memes. These are concept spreading from one user to another through new media. As a source of memes serves for this work the club New Internet Humours from discussion forum nyx, we introduce on a few selected examples the main differencies between memes and traditional approach to humour, perhaps even to communication in general.

Diploma thesis "The Development of TV prograínme guides after the year 1989 ( 1990 _ 2005)" deals with the section of programme guides in the Czechrepublic in the context of the whole market of Program me magazines in the historical perspective of the years 1990 - 2005, It's goal is to offer a compact ovetview of the development of TV Programme guides in this Period. In doing so, it focuses on content and graphical changes, which the selected periodicals went through, and compares them with the current formats of the magazines. ln the context of focusing on the past changes, it also brings the comparison of the very limited market before the year 1989 and the gradually developing one in the nineties, and mainly in the new millenium, At the same time, it concentrates on foreign publishers, whose entering into the Czech market, was the key element for the development of the home trade,It also looks at newspapel supplements, electronical (internet) and digital (EPG) media, as their possible competitors, considering the future existence of the TV programme guides.

The Master's thesis "The Role and Importance of Humorous Television Programs in Czechoslovakia in The Years of Normalization. The Phenomenon of a Comic Pair Lasica and Satinský,"discusses the importance of humorous shows within the program structure of the Czechoslovak Television in 1969-1989. The work deals with the issues of television entertainment and the developments that affect a number of criteria. The work points to the former television entertainment context, the possibility of posting humorous programs, and their position in the television program. The work will identify the type and frequency of various entertainment programs and their presenters as well as discuss their contribution to television entertainment. The paper seeks to deepen its analysis of television entertainment, namely in the humorous sessions of Milan Lasica and Julius Satinský. Their artistic activity compared to television based on criteria such as: frequency, form of humor, specific pairs etc., with other comics CST sessions will be analysed. An important part of the analysis will be means of expression used by comedians in broadcasts.
Programme Diversity in Czech Televisions between 1998 and 2006

The present thesis entitled "Programme Diversity of Czech Nationwide Television Channels in the Years 1998 - 2006" focuses on the normative requirement of the society regarding the diversity of mass media, and the approach of mass media thereto: we distinguish between media diversity introduced in the market media model and the diversity presented as part of the public sphere media model. Furthermore, this thesis attempts to search for and determine the requirements regarding media diversity as laid down in the applicable legislation of the Czech Republic or the European Union. The research part of the thesis deals with one of the many levels of diversity in the mass media environment, particularly the diversity of television programme types, i.e. television genres accepted by the interest groups: academics, broadcasters or audiences etc. The present analysis includes nationwide TV stations providing analogue broadcasting via terrestrial transmitters in the years 1998 to 2006, focusing on majority audience - Czech TV1, Prima TV and TV Nova. By means of the Relative Entropy Index and the Deviation Index the diversity of the offered programme types is examined both on the vertical level (a single selected TV station) and on the horizontal level (across the monitored TV stations).
