Amplifying Cyber Threat Intelligence Analysis with Honeypots

Factors with negative impact on functional outcome and mortality in elderly pati ens treated surgically for proximal femoral fracture: their identification and r elevance for prevention
Kopp, Lubomír ; Čelko, Alexander (advisor) ; Janout, Vladimír (referee) ; Jahoda, David (referee)
AIM: Increase in one-year mortality following proximal femoral fractures in elderly patients was seen in many studies. Identification of factors increasing the risk of mortality is decisive for prognosis of these patients. Our aim was to identify significance of single factors on shortening of survival time and worsening of functional outcome. We have dominantly concentrated on influence of pressure sores and impairment of cognitive functions. METHODS: In a prospective consecutive manner, we have observed 275 patients treated in our department in period from January 2003 to June 2005. We have observed altogether 25 prehospitalisation, hospitalisation and posthospitalisation factors. Using statistical tests (log-rank, Mann-Whitney, logistic regression), we have analysed relationship between length of survival and different observed factors on a 5 % level of significance. RESULTS: In our study, we have identified factors significantly shortening survival time. These were: age, male sex, comorbidities, decreased mobility before injury, acute general complications, development of pressure sores after surgery, insufficiency of osteosynthesis requiring revision surgery, deep wound infection and low ADL and MMSE scores. CONCLUSION: Our study has identified simple predictors of poor functional outcome and...
New Surgical Techniques to Prevent Serious Permanent Disability of Proximal Hume ral Fractures
Edelmann, Karel ; Čelko, Alexander (advisor) ; Janout, Vladimír (referee) ; Landor, Ivan (referee)
NEW SURGICAL TECHNIQUES TO PREVENT SERIOUS PERMANENT DISABILITY OF PROXIMAL HUMERAL FRACTURES AIM: Fractures of the proximal humerus are the third most common fracture in adults. In the treatment of displaced three-and four-part fractures in the last decade we have witnessed the advent of new angular stable implants, which have better biomechanical stability in osteoporotic bone in these patients very frequent. The purpose of this study was to determine whether these new implants are a better prevention of severe permanent disability, compared with the earlier technique of percutaneous pinning with K wires. METHOD: The detailed analysis for publishing rich area of research literature on treatment history, epidemiology and prevention of proximal humerus fractures was accomplished. Medium-term results were evaluated in a prospective randomized study of 55 patients treated with angular stable implants with an average age of 62.1 years (Targon PH nail 32 patients, Philos plate 23 patients). For comparison was used a group of 9 patients treated with percutaneous K wire fixation, combined monitored prospectively and retrospectively. With a minimal follow up of 12 months in all patients was determined the final individual relative Constant score and DASH score. For patients in the sample were obtained...
Tobacco control in the CR and Canada aimed especially at socioeconomic, political and environmental aspects
Fraser, Keely ; Králíková, Eva (advisor) ; Janout, Vladimír (referee) ; Lustigová, Michala (referee)
(English) Smoking is the leading cause of premature mortality and morbidity globally (WHO, 2018). Within the Czech Republic (CR) tobacco consumption ranks among the highest in the world, and tobacco control measures rank among the poorest globally (Joossens and Raw, 2014; American Cancer Society, 2018). Smoking related chronic diseases and the loss of active part of life are an enormous and growing burden on the Czech system. There is urgency to invest in efforts that will control and decrease the demand for tobacco products (OECD, 2017). Experiences and lessons learned in tobacco control (TC) by other countries, such as Canada, may provide valuable insight to help guide Czech decision makers in identifying policy best buys moving forward. The basic research carried out as part of this PhD project focuses specifically on a comparison of TC in Canada and the CR. It also includes: 1) a national cross-sectional survey of all organizations involved in TC to describe capacity and involvement in TC measures outlined by the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) (Fraser et al. 2019); 2) a prospective cohort study which describes the results of intensive smoking cessation treatment offered by Centers for Tobacco Dependent (CTD) (Králiková et al. 2014); 3) a cross sectional survey of patients...
Incidence rate of external genital lesions (EGL) caused by human papillomavirus infection in Czech population
Petráš, Marek ; Adámková, Věra (advisor) ; Janout, Vladimír (referee) ; Göpfertová, Dana (referee)
Incidence of external genital lesions (EGL) caused by human papillomaviruses in the Czech population Marek Petráš Abstract Genital warts (condyloma acuminate) caused up to 90% cases by two human papillomaviruses of type 6 and 11 are not life-threatening diseases but can cause not only clinical symptoms (burning, itching, bleeding, and pain) but also psychosocial stress, embarrassment, and anxiety making for impaired quality of life. The aim of this cross-sectional study was to determine the prevalence and incidence rate of genital warts using questionnaire survey in the Czech population and to assess the risk predictors of genital warts. Between January 2013 and March 2014 valid data were collected from 33,700 attendees at 268 outpatient clinics in all 14 regions of the Czech Republic. The questionnaire enquired on several lifestyle factors, including residence, education, smoking, number of lifetime sexual partners, and HPV immunization status, as well as date of birth and gender. Information on genital warts was obtained with the question, ''Have you ever had genital warts?''. Study participants were also asked for the year of their first outbreak of genital warts and of recurrent episodes if any occurred, the treatments received, and the genital warts status of their sexual partner. The questionnaire...
The attitude towards prevention and long-term follow-up in patients diagnosed with melanoma
Konkoľová, Radmila ; Provazníková, Hana (advisor) ; Janout, Vladimír (referee) ; Skořepová, Magdalena (referee)
52 7.2 Souhrn v anglickém jazyce Malignant melanoma is the most lethal skin cancer whose incidence has been worldwide increasing. The prognosis of the disease is dependent on many factors - the effected locality, age, form of the tumor and the growth stage at which it was surgically removed. There has been no reliable adjuvant treatment available so far; although cytokins have been recently administered to high-risk patients. The accent is therefore put mainly on the timely detection and the relevant extent of surgical intervention whose degree depends on the stage of the disease. The result of the above mentioned facts is the necessity of an early diagnosis of new cases and permanent follow-up of the patients in whom melanoma has been already confirmed. The patients in the follow-up care are regularly checked, for the rest of their lives, at by the so called melanoma commissions, usually at dermatological clinics. The permanent contact with fact of the possible presence of the disease (information about the diagnosis, repeated follow-ups, waiting for the results of the examination) is stressful for these patients, although they become, to a certain extent, gradually adapted to stress. A good adaptation is however dependent also on the extent of social support, depression, the severity of the disease and...
