EV vehicle cabin thermal management strategy in hot and cold climates
Matušková, Lucie ; Charvát, Pavel (referee) ; Fišer, Jan (advisor)
The goal of the work is to conduct an experiment to measure the temperature at which optimal thermal comfort is achieved. The experiment is carried out in a climate chamber, where constant climatic conditions acting on the vehicle can be ensured. The iHVAC measuring system is used to measure thermal comfort. Then to compare the values with the previous measurement that took place for other vehicles. Part of the work is devoted to research that describe the issue of thermal management of vehicles.
Application of the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) method to passenger cars
Šándor, Kristián ; Mišík, Ondrej (referee) ; Fišer, Jan (advisor)
The electrification of personal transport is an intensely discussed and relevant topic in 2023. The motivation behind this master thesis was to compare the lifetime energy consumption of vehicles equipped with internal combustion engines, battery-powered electric systems, and fuel cells. The theoretical part of this master thesis includes the introduction and explanation of the method by which a product lifecycle is assessed, known as LCA. The dissertation includes a chapter detailing the main components of automobiles, followed by a chapter which has calculations the energy consumption of production, operation, and recycling or destruction of the automobiles. The outcome of the theoretical part shows that the lifecycle of a battery-powered electric car is the least energetically costly, followed by internal combustion cars, and fuel cell cars being the most energy costly. The practical part of this master thesis involved a physical decomposition of a vehicle with an internal combustion engine with the aim of obtaining the material composition of its components and applying the LCA method on the vehicle Skoda Octavia III. The thesis sparks future research and eco-friendly alternatives in personal transportation.
Comparison of solar thermal collectors and a heat pump powered by solar photovoltaics in terms of thermal energy production
Kuznetsova, Oksana ; Fišer, Jan (referee) ; Charvát, Pavel (advisor)
Lately there is a growing pressure on reducing energy demand of households. One way to limit energy production from fossil fuels is using sustainable energy sources. Aim of this paper is to compare 2 systems for production of hot water. It involves comparison of energy gains from solar collectors with gains from heat pump powered by photovoltaic pannels. These systems will be compared by using simulation programm TRNSYS. Parametric study will be done. Effect of each factor for these systems will be shown on simulation models
Heat transfer from the surface of the human body - validation of a CFD thermal manikin model
Kuruc, Jan ; Pokorný, Jan (referee) ; Fišer, Jan (advisor)
This master thesis is focused on CFD simulation of heat transfer from a thermal manikin in a calibration environment and its subsequent validation based on the experiments already performed in the master thesis of Ing. Fojtlín and Ing. Hrubanová. The main objective of the work is to find and test a suitable combination of physical models and set boundary conditions in the simulation model so that the actual heat transfer and airflow processes from the validation experiments are faithfully simulated. In the course of the work, 7 cases were simulated based on individual measurements made during the experiments. The calculated heat transfer coefficients of the thermal mannequin segments for each simulated case can be considered as the main results of the simulation. For the experiment of Ing. Fojtlín, these are the heat transfer coefficients by radiation and convection. For the experiment of Ing. Hrubanová, the total heat transfer coefficients for a manikin with five selected clothing assemblies were determined. Validation was performed by comparing the simulated and experimentally determined values of heat transfer coefficients. Based on the comparison, the developed simulation model could be declared validated.
Fast charging of EV vehicles - overview of technologies
Boršoš, Adam ; Charvát, Pavel (referee) ; Fišer, Jan (advisor)
Charging speed is one of the key parameters that affects the attractiveness of electric cars for drivers. Therefore, it is important to determine the methods that can charge the electric car as quickly as possible. An overview of electric vehicle charging technologies and the identification of those that are considered fast charging has been made. It has been found that the fastest technology is DC charging. A list of six connectors that allow this charging has also been created. These were then compared. An overview of charging networks, that enable fast charging, was made in the next chapter. The three largest providers of charging stations in the Czech Republic and also the two that specialize in fast charging were listed. The topic of battery cooling is also related to charging. Therefore, the following chapter provides an overview of technologies that are used to cool batteries. The last part focuses on the factors that cause the degradation of batteries. An overview of the four main causes of degradation and their effect on the battery was demonstrated.
Ventilated protective clothing for healthcare staff in contaminated environments
Štenclová, Kristýna ; Kopečková, Barbora (referee) ; Fišer, Jan (advisor)
Focus of the masters thesis is experimental verification of cooling effect of ambient air stream directed under a protective clothing of a human. The first part is a review of literature encompassing concepts related to thermal comfort and heat transfer. Possibilities of cooling a human who is moving in high ambient temperature environment are introduced in this part. The second part is focused on hypotheses devised and experiments performed. The last part is focused on results of the experiments and their comparison with an experiment described in literature.
Evaluation of the cabin thermal environment by the means of equivalent temperature measuring systems
Zrůst, Michael ; Šíp, Jan (referee) ; Fišer, Jan (advisor)
With increasing amount of vehicles on roads, the mobility of humanity and time spent in car cabins grows the signifikance of reaching and maintaining thermal comfort for passengers during long and also short journeys. With electric car industry growing there is an effort to lower the consumption of energy by HVAC systems to enlarge the reach of electric car and for combustion engine cars to lower the emissions coming from maintaining proper thermal comfort.
Energy retrofitting of a family home to the nearly zero energy building
Uhlíř, David ; Fišer, Jan (referee) ; Charvát, Pavel (advisor)
The diploma thesis is devoted to reducing the energy intensity of a two-storey family house from the 1960s, to a building with almost zero energy consumption. First, the family house is analyzed in terms of the condition before reconstruction. The result of this analysis is a certificate of energy performance of the building in its original condition. Within the individual chapters, I subsequently propose specific energy saving measures. At the end of each chapter, these measures are economically evaluated using the New Green Savings Grant Program. The first measure is dedicated to improving the thermal technical properties of the building envelope. This is ensured by the complex insulation of the family house and the replacement of the original windows and doors. The second measure is devoted to the design of a suitable method of forced ventilation with heat recovery. As part of the third measure, I assess and select a suitable heat source that will replace the original heat source of the family house. As a final measure, I propose the use of a renewable energy source in the form of a photovoltaic system, which is based on energy simulation in the program DEKSOFT FVE. At the end of my work, I am developing a building energy performance certificate, which assesses the fulfillment of the condition of a building with almost zero energy consumption.
The system of remedial measures
Fišer, Jan ; Winterová, Alena (advisor) ; Smolík, Petr (referee)
Summary: In my master's thesis I focus on remedial measures and appellate proceedings. Special attention is given to explanation of rules and principles of the appellation, cassation and revision correction system and the differences between them. This theoretical definition of the mentioned systems is then followed by their practical application in the Czech civil procedure, including its development in the last ten years and mentioning possible amendments in the future. At the end of the paper there is presented the German legal regulation of remedial measures. The master's thesis is, apart of the introduction and conclusion, composed of five chapters, each of them dealing with remedial measures and correction systems from a different point of view. Chapter one is introductory and outlines the questions of appellate proceedings and legal remedies, it also defines basic terminology that is then used in other chapters. Chapter two introduces various correction systems. The chapter is subdivided into four parts. Part one describes the appellation system and its principles. It explains the differences between the system of full appellation the system of inchoate appellation in detail. Second part focuses on the cassation system and its rules. Part three deals with the revision system. The last part looks at...
