Switching arc plasma diagnostics by usage of two high-speed cameras
Buchta, Martin ; Dostál, Lukáš (referee) ; Valenta, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with an electrical arc formation and its properties. The thesis also describes some of the electrical devices and principles, which are used for arc extinction. It is mainly focused on design, construction and testing of model of the LV quenching system, which allows high speed cameras to record arc movement. Recorded images are then used to create three-dimensional reconstruction of the electric arc with help of created program 3DMaker. The final reconstruction is the output of this work.
Mobile App for Shooting New Photos of Ancient Postcards
Buchta, Martin ; Zemčík, Pavel (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to create a mobile application which allows to capture actual photographs of ancient postcards. Application is implemented for Android operation system. Theoretical foundations about problematics of repeat photography and used technologies are described in this thesis. Practical part of this thesis describes design, implementation and testing of the application. Xamarin integrated development environment which is based on programming language C# was utilized for practical part of thesis. Final application allows user to capture the most accurate photography corresponding to historical postcard.
Biosemiotics
Buchta, Martin ; Kera, Denisa (advisor) ; Kleisner, Karel (referee)
Biosemiotics - study of living systems from a semiotic perspective. Semiotic perspective on living nature in tradition of general semiotics of C. S. Peirce. Sign is a biological adaptation of useful function (pragmatism). Every organism is a sign, and its life cycle is a continuous process of self-interpretation. Semiotic approach as candidate for new paradigm (T. Kuhn) in biology. The role of observer - animals as interpreters of their environment. Umwelt - subjectively interpreted environment (Uexküll). Umwelt is the semiotic world of organism, unites all semiotic processes of an organism into a whole. Organisms are autonomous agents (S. Kauffman) living in their own semiotic Umwelt. Semiotic mechanisms are embedded in a semiosphere (Lotman). Semiosphere is the set of all interconnected Umwelts. Signs are created and shared inside semiosphere. Extended concepts of knowledge, meaning, interpretation, and subject - applicable to both human and non-human actors (autonomous agents). Genes play a dominant role in evolution. Difference between genes (genotype) as information and DNA (material). Organisms as self-reading texts. Symbiotic evolution of organism. Organic codes.
Valve Train for Turbocharged Formula Student Engine
Buchta, Martin ; Špičák, Milan (referee) ; Svída, David (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with valve train design of turbocharged engine used in Formula Student category race car. Based on thermodynamic model, a proper valve timing was chosen to achieve maximum power at high engine speed. A kinematic model was used to compute final cam profiles and CAD model was created.
Sudoku - algorithmization of solution
Buchta, Martin ; Sekora, Jiří (referee) ; Mézl, Martin (advisor)
In this paper, we present an overview of techniques that can be used by people to solve a Sudoku Puzzle. The individual algorithms were theoretically described using real tasks and were implemented on this basis to appropriate graphical user interface in Matlab with the possibility of webcam task loading.
Fuel Systems with Pressure Accumulator
Buchta, Martin ; Janoušek, Michal (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is focused on the Common Rail injection system for diesel engines. There is described each component, function principle and history of the system. It deals with currently used systems, theirs application in passenger cars engines and theirs effect on emissions in exhaust gases. It is concluded that the Common Rail injection system is currently the best, which we can use in passenger's cars diesel engines.
Systemically Important Banks in the Context of Financial Stability
Buchta, Martin ; Půlpánová, Stanislava (advisor) ; Hradil, Dušan (referee)
A failure of systemically important bank was up to the present time in most cases avoided through providing financial support by government because there were concerns about destroying the financial stability followed by decline in economic activity because of size, interconnectedness and limited substitutability of the failing bank. However, the implicit governmental guarantees for systemically important banks create many distortions in an economy which are desirable to eliminate. Considering restriction of moral hazard, no increase in systemic risk and preservation of social benefits of G-SIBs the parallel implementation of higher capital requirements and recovery and resolution policy seems to be the most effective measure from proposed regulatory measures for systemically important banks. The future benefits and costs of these measures will be dependent in a high degree on the form and way in which the new rules will be incorporated by governments to their national regulatory frameworks.
