CARBON Visitor Center
Kukučková, Nina ; Šindlar, Jiljí (referee) ; Marek, Jiří (advisor)
The designed building should fulfill the function of the visitor‘s first contact with the former black coal mining complex near Frenštát pod Radhoštěm. For this reason, its character should be welcoming, friendly, amiable, it should welcome visitors to the area and at the same time set the desire in them to get to know the area, the region and the Beskydy Mountains more deeply. The visitor center should represent just a small taste of what the area has to offer. The design works with the idea of the atmosphere in a forest, in a mountain environment, in nature therefore it uses natural materials only. The concept uses selected fragments of the forest such as light, space and structure, which are further transformed and reflected in the design.

The bachelor thesis deals with the design of a new sport facilities for Rugby Club Bystrc in Brno. The existing building was built by self-help in the middle of the last century and is already statically, dispositionally and architecturally inconvenient. Therefore, the demolition and construction of a two-storey new building on a rectangular floor plan and projecting entrance part was proposed. The owner's wishes were new changing rooms, a buffet, a sauna, an occasional accommodation, a gym, a fitness room, a combat mat and a running track. All in one object. On the first floor there is a foyer, which is followed by changing rooms, sauna and buffet. Accommodation is accessible by a separate entrance or from the changing rooms. On the second floor there is a gym, fitness, combat mat, running track and changing rooms. The structural system is a transverse wall system on cast-in-place reinforced slabs are placed. The building is covered with a flat roof placed on glue laminated girder.
Rugby Club Bystrc - Brno

The bachelor's thesis theme is a building of the Rugby Club in Brno-Bystrc in the details of the design study and documentation for the building permit, based on an architectural study developed within the subject AG032 – Public buildings. The aim of the project was to design a multi-purpose sports center in accordance with the investor's requirements, which will be used for local rugby players, and also be open to the public. The existing RCB building is located near Jakuba Obrovského Street near the residential settlement on the west side and the bank of the Svratka River on the east side. It is a very fragmented one-storey building, which the members of the club built themselves. The rugby players' movement in Brno itself boasts perhaps the longest history in the Czech Republic, and since its foundation in 1926, it has featured a number of famous names, such as the writer Ondřej Sekora. The current members are very much based on everything they have managed on their own and are proud of their club. Therefore, I decided to keep the mass of the existing building and use its characteristically fragmented form as a springboard for my design and also as a reference to the famous history of the club. Above this original mass, I build a mass that is completely different in shape and material, in order to achieve a contrast that will be limited to the original and thus complete the overall appearance of the building.

Kindergarten FUTURUM
Csöbönyei, Thelma ; Marek, Jiří (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor) ; Brzoň, Roman (advisor)
The bachelor thesis follows up on a studio project created in the summer semester of the 3rd year of my bachelor´s study. The aim of the project was to design a new kindergarten in the Brno-střed district. The kindergarten has two departments, both with a capacity for 24 children. The plot is located in the northeast of Havlíčkova Street. The terrain is significantly sloping. The large slope on the side of Havlíčkova Street is overcome by a huge ramp, which will also serve as an educational trail and a pleasant arrival every day before kindergarten. Between the ramp and the kindergarten there is a garden for children to play. The slope on the other side of the plot is used for a smooth entrance to the first underground floor from the grammar school side. The kindergarten building has a square shape and one above-ground floor, where the kindergarten management and the main part of the operation are located. The building is single-story with partial basement. In the basement there are the technical facilities, facilities for food preparation and staff. On the northwest side of the building, two classes are symmetrically spread out with a shared cloakroom in the middle. The building´s façade has wooden cladding, which is cut around the openings so that they look playful by creating geometric shapes. The main intention was to create a pleasant environment for children, to which they will be happy to return every day.
Kindergarten 21st century.
Bajerová, Anna-Marie ; Marek, Jiří (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor) ; Brzoň, Roman (advisor)
The basis of this bachelor thesis is an architectural study prepared in the subject AG034. The theme of the work is the design of a nursery school that will meet the requirements of the 21st century. The proposed building is located in the city district of Brno-Stránice. The lot is located on the outskirts of the Masaryk district, near the Square Míru. The site is part of the Cyrilomethodian Grammar School and this fact is taken into account. The terrain on the lot is sloped from west to east and the design uses the height difference of 7.1 metres to allow entry from three elevation levels. The main entrance is from the street in the west side of the property. The building can also be accessed through the campus itself, to which the nursery is affiliated. A new parking lot for parents and employees is proposed for the property, which includes 7 car stalls, including an immobile one. Around the house there are green areas, a playground with an artificial surface and a sports ground. The south side of the property consists of a stone wall, which is simultaneously a fence with a neighbouring property. The building has 2 upper floors and one underground level. The first above-ground floor contains the main operation of the nursery, the second above-ground floor acts as the main entrance and at the same time the facilities for the teachers and the underground floor is reserved for the operating part of the building such as TZB, warehouses and food preparation. The building is designed as a woodwork in combination with a masonry lower structure. The roof of the building above 1NP is designed as an operational vegetation roof. The second roof above 2NP is also a vegetation roof but without operation. I was inspired by dualism when I designed the building. The building is meant to be clean, functionalistic for passers-by, but for children it provides a reflection of their soul in the form of a "woozy" inner facade, which is also written into the interior itself.
Favorit Brno / cycling stadium - bicross track / architectural study - design / stage 2021/22
Salajová, Barbara ; Hrabec, Josef (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor)
The assignment of the diploma thesis was preceded by the course NGA056 Specialized studio on the topic Architectural study of the cycling stadium of the Favorit Brno sports organization. The result of this pre-diploma project was the evaluation of the current condition of the velodrome and the creation of an option for its possible modification or demolition. The diploma thesis is a continuation of the previous project and in the form of a study it elaborates a proposal for a new building of the cycling stadium of the Favorit Brno sports organization. The newly designed velodrome responds to the current requirements of track cycling, such as the length of the track (250 m), the track material, the roofing of the building, and it also takes care to meet all the needs of athletes and visitors. The building is situated on the site of the original velodrome in Brno-Pisárky.
Favorit Brno / cycling stadium - bicross track / architectural study - design / stage 2021/22
Nováková, Lucie ; Žalmanová, Petra (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor)
The assignment of the diploma thesis is an architectural study of a cycling stadium - velodrome in the Pisárky district in Brno for TJ Favorit Brno. The existing velodrome is located southwest on the edge of the Brno Exhibition Center on Křížovského Street. The Velodrome no longer meets the current requirements of track cycling, but it is historically valuable and has its genius loci. The new 250 m long wooden bike track (together with other parameters of the International Cycling Union) and its associated sports grounds are "inserted" into the existing velodrome, which is modified and reconstructed according to requirements. The grandstands have been preserved. The built-in building with a new track is then completely roofed, creating an enclosed space. As part of the stadium reconstruction, a new facility was also created for TJ Favorit Brno from a modular container system; These are changing rooms for athletes, administrative areas, and facilities for visiting clubs and athletes and IP areas. The container construction system for sports facilities is very practical, economical, fast, environmentally friendly, variable, and flexible to the current requirements of a constantly evolving sport. The Anteroom and ground floor in the southern part of the existing velodrome is equipped with services for the public: a cafe, souvenir shop, cash register, information center, service, and a bicycle and sports equipment store. The new track with grandstands is covered with ETFE foil anchored to new lattice trusses, which are connected to the existing roof.

The diploma thesis extends the architectural study of the undergraduate project, which was focus on the topic of buildings with a sports content. The aim of this diploma thesis is design of specific stadium for track cycling competitions at the level of Olympic buildings. Design of building also contains the necessary operational and technical background of the construction. The main idea of the project was to create a building providing dignified areas for sports, spectators, multifunctional and, last but not least, a quality and functional architecture. It is also necessary to create club spaces for members of the Favorit Brno cycling club and also for visitors to sport events. The building consists of one main mass of the building, which is divided both, operationally and dispositionally into several units and floors. The main goal of the project was to create a simple velodrome mass that will be able to respond to the fragmented surrounding buildings and also create a comprehensive public space. Interior of the round stadium with a radial floor plan is sophisticatedly divided into tracts, which are served by a system of corridors. The race track itself is then located on the 2nd floor. An important factor of the design was also enough light, which is necessary to get into a large part of the massive building. The rough dimensions of the building are about 120 m in diameter and 21 m in height. The underground floor, which is used primarily for parking, reaches a depth of 3.8 m. The architectural study also includes the use for selected existing buildings, such as the building of the Favorit sports club, that will contains catering operation, important areas with energy of the building, as well as administrative and club premises. It also concentrates bar and VIP areas on the upper floors. The mass of the existing remaining building is incorporated into the proposed mass of the stadium near the main entrance to the building. The last large building materia
